That is [frick]ing epic. Why did they trade this for that crap in the first movie?
JDUKE25 - 12/16/2011, 8:28 AM
Whoa..
the1egend1ives - 12/16/2011, 8:29 AM
<----Much better than my make-up that's for sure. lol
Dynamo - 12/16/2011, 8:32 AM
I dunno, it looks too silly to me. Maybe it's the eyes.
Dynamo - 12/16/2011, 8:34 AM
Also those ears are comically huge.
PaulRom - 12/16/2011, 8:36 AM
Yeah the ears are too big, otherwise I like it. Should've gone with that design.
jarel93 - 12/16/2011, 8:36 AM
Meh.
Dynamo - 12/16/2011, 8:43 AM
Nah, I don't like it at all. It looks like the wicked witch from Wizard of Oz.
nuck82 - 12/16/2011, 8:48 AM
cant see : (
RorMachine - 12/16/2011, 8:51 AM
lol, looks ridiculous. What were they gonna say happened to Osbourne to achieve that look? Did a house fall on him and his feet curl up?
aRandomSinisterClone - 12/16/2011, 8:51 AM
another smashing suscess
CarRamrod - 12/16/2011, 8:54 AM
Why does it remind me of the gargoyle from Army of Darkness???
mctrinket - 12/16/2011, 8:54 AM
Much better than the power ranger outfit. Someone dropped the ball on that. Maybe DaFoe didn't want to deal with the make-up. It looks fantastic with the exception of the stocking cap that looks kind of dumb. That would have need to have been reworked.
RorMachine - 12/16/2011, 8:55 AM
..don't get me wrong the makeup work etc is great, but as far as actually going with that design for the movie? I didn't like Power Ranger Gobbie at all but that would have been laughable imo.
marvel72 - 12/16/2011, 8:55 AM
they should gone with that, miles better than the power ranger look.
Crazyhorrormovienerd - 12/16/2011, 8:56 AM
I hated the green goblin costume they used in the first one. I don't think the one in the video is perfect, but I do think it's more in the right direction.
mitchybaby - 12/16/2011, 8:57 AM
much better than the IRON green goblin Man
DrCKasady - 12/16/2011, 8:57 AM
this was so much better. i've always thought spiderman was shit for a raimi flick. it didn't have a good horror aspect the goblin should have and this would have probably change that a bit.

the ears make it look skrull kinda.
AlexRival - 12/16/2011, 8:57 AM
Depends on the costume if it would've looked good or not.
Dynamo - 12/16/2011, 8:58 AM
@Ror
I agree completely. The Power Ranger Goblin wasn't good but this would've been completely cartoonish.
LucasMend - 12/16/2011, 8:59 AM
that would scary the shit out of the kids on the theaters. And looks a little bit idiotic. I like the Power Rangers look for him on the movie, was more realistic
grifter - 12/16/2011, 8:59 AM
Wait why is this not on the Spider-man DVD?
thedangle1 - 12/16/2011, 8:59 AM
Why, Why, Why didn't they use that make up for the film???!!! SO much better than the final product of that stupid plastic mask they had him wear. I loved the movie but hated the Goblin's final look, even though Defoe was great in the role.
JayJayCAW - 12/16/2011, 9:00 AM
looks pretty cool, I'm sure if they had used it they would have adjusted it in editing and such, both looks are good but having this version in would have been nice, maybe as a prototype look or final stage, something like that would have been cool :)
Tainted87 - 12/16/2011, 9:00 AM
Is this exclusive to ADI? I ask because it's been 10 years, maybe more, since this video was made, and that stock drumbeat sounds like it was probably a dvd extra.
Jolt17 - 12/16/2011, 9:02 AM
That's...creepy. But looks kind of rough, end for me nothing better than the Power Rangers suit. Probably a little bit more work on it and it will be great.
windpasser1 - 12/16/2011, 9:03 AM
i think it looks awesome. the ears could be smaller though.
StrangerX - 12/16/2011, 9:03 AM
The eyes look weird, but I like this look better than the power rangers suit.
rbfn04 - 12/16/2011, 9:04 AM
Change the eyes a bit and it would be perfect. Of course our armour lover Superguy likes the Power Ranger version better. Jokes, homie!
MarVell - 12/16/2011, 9:04 AM
I like what they landed on but I'm a sucker for the traditional look. Cool stuff.
JDUKE25 - 12/16/2011, 9:04 AM
Personally, I don't think it makes sense of him having that hard shell Goblin mask, I mean did they make a goblin mask to be included for the army? I think it would've made more sense for Osborn to make his Goblin suit/mask like that, like Spidey did for his. Obviously it would be tweaked and not look like that in the final stage. I could go for either design, but if i had to choose I would've rather had something like this.
Tainted87 - 12/16/2011, 9:05 AM
Also, for the mask itself... most critics complained that Willem Dafoe's expressiveness was put to waste because you couldn't see his face at all, just his lips through a tinted screen. Obviously Osborn wouldn't have had his face mutated into THIS, it would still be a form-fitting mask. The eyes REALLY look creepy, like you can actually understand Aunt May's shock there. The trouble I'm seeing is functionality. Is it Willem Dafoe they are testing it on or just some guy in the make-up department? It doesn't look like he has a lot of leeway and freedom.
AEStark - 12/16/2011, 9:07 AM
I like it. It's obviously not done but I like it. I especially like it about 1:10 in.
AEStark - 12/16/2011, 9:08 AM
I think they should have left the lenses out
HellsHammer - 12/16/2011, 9:08 AM
haha people who say this is this isnt good are stupid. So much better than what they used for the final product.
batmanrises - 12/16/2011, 9:09 AM
Wow that is Alex Ross' Green Goblin brought to life! Wouldn't have been practical for Raimi's movie, though. Too movie makeup-ish. Pretty awesome practical effects for the emoting, though.
Sparrowsabre7 - 12/16/2011, 9:12 AM
I like the power ranger design, but I have to admit this looks pretty decent. However, it would've been much harder to explain and I think it would've looked dumb in context. In isolation, badass as hell (minus the no-pupils which I imagine is just because it's unfinished) but in the more grounded context of the movie it would look daft I think.
justbrandon - 12/16/2011, 9:15 AM
looks terrible
ElBicho - 12/16/2011, 9:17 AM
Soooooo much cooler than what we got...
ThaMessenger07 - 12/16/2011, 9:20 AM

^^ This is what they should have done for the suits mask.
ArrowToTheKnee - 12/16/2011, 9:24 AM
That would've been incredible! Minus the rabbit ears. Better than that goofy power ranger shit we actually got!
Ancar - 12/16/2011, 9:24 AM
Very good job, but, for a first movie, I think that could ofuscate the main character and maybe leave a ton of terror to the movie, I don't know.

I think Raimi did the best choice.
xXkryptoniteXx - 12/16/2011, 9:25 AM
The reason they did that I'm guessing is that raimi couldn't get the right facial performance and probably didn't fit well. You can even tell from the end scene that they were trying and it just looks to pupetty, otherwise it's great and that would be better but there's a reason. They can't do what they can now back then.(rise of planet of the apes/avatar)
cherokeesam - 12/16/2011, 9:26 AM
The eyes definitely need some irises and pupils, and the ears should be shortened; but otherwise, this is comic Gobby brought perfectly to life. It would've worked just fine. Couldn't have been any more of a laughingstock than Power Rangers Gobby.

Here's hoping that ASM2 will bring that look out for a re-booted Osborne.
McGribble - 12/16/2011, 9:27 AM
For the life of me I don't know why they used what they did. This looks like its right out of the comics. The ears, as others have said are a bit large, but they could be toned down. I hope they use something like this in the reboot if they use Goblin again at some point... Freaking EPIC!!!
AgentDelta - 12/16/2011, 9:28 AM
Am I the only one thinking SKRULL?
EdParker - 12/16/2011, 9:31 AM
maybe this technique is being applied to the lizard, maybe
UnscrupalousSmurf - 12/16/2011, 9:32 AM
Power ranger goblin was pure shit.
ThatFan - 12/16/2011, 9:37 AM
WHY DID THEY PICK THE CRAP SUIT!
valeriesghost - 12/16/2011, 9:37 AM
That was soo much better then that fuggin helmet they put on him...
