GREEN LANTERN Storyboards: Alternate Abin Sur Fight Scene; Tomar-Re Makeup Test (Video)
Hit the jump to check out storyboards that were created for Martin Campbell's Green Lantern, that feature a much more interesting battle between Abin Sur and Parallax. Also, come see a video showcasing an unused Tomar-Re concept, by Quantum Creation FX.
Back in August, I showed you images that Quantum Creation FX posted of their in-house Green Lantern makeup tests for Tomar-Re (voiced by Geoffrey Rush). Now, check out a video that features that practical concept moving around. Better than the CGI Tomar-Re?
Also, we have some storyboards, created by Michael Anthony Jackson, for Martin Campbell's Green Lantern. They feature Abin Sur's fight scene with Parallax, however this version is much more action-packed than the theatrical version. Keep in mind, the storyboards refer to Parallax as Hannu, which was probably just a codename. You'll also notice that Parallax is depicted as having a humanoid form, and not the cloud like stupidity we all know and hate. Once again, keep in mind these boards are probably from an early version of the script.
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, an elite force of protectors for peace and justice has existed for centuries. They are the Green Lantern Corps. When a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of the Corps' newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Bringing the popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, Green Lantern also stars Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), Peter Sarsgaard (Orphan), Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes), Academy Award® nominee Angela Bassett* and Academy Award® winner Tim Robbins**.
GREEN LANTERN was directed by Martin Campbell, from a script written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Michael J. Green, and Michael Goldenberg. The film starred: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, and Angela Bassett.
