Jack Reynor's Agent Calls STAR WARS VII Rumors "Untrue"

Few days ago, Harry Knowles of Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News claimed that sources had informed him that Transformers: Age of Extinction star Jack Reynor had landed a Star Wars VII role.

Jack Reynor's agent has informed the Independent Ireland that his 22-year-old client has not landed a role in Star Wars VII.
"There is no truth in that -- Jack is not taking on a role in the latest Star Wars film. He has not been approached about a role and there has been no discussion. The rumours started online, but there is no foundation to them."

Remember when denials used to mean something? Now actors and directors simply deny deny deny, even if is later revealed that they were lying and the "rumors" were actually fact. Guess that's the state of things in the entertainment world. So, either you accept what the agent has to say on the matter or you believe Harry. I tend to believe the agent as Harry hasn't landed a big scoop in a long time and I don't see an end to his dry spell coming any time soon.

Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if Harry's "sources" were just painkiller-induced hallucinations...

Can we just wait until an OFFICIAL announcement? Jeez, it came to a point where rumors are now annoying.

I'll agree to that. It's never official until the contract is signed, and even then it can be changed.

But I will give a tip of the hat to Harry. If I recall correctly, his Star Wars tips used to be pretty good. Not only that, but I'm not sure what role Reynor is up for, but he looks a hell of a lot like a young Harrison Ford.

They still don't have a cast... that's a big cause for concern.

Of all movies, this one would be the one I'd likely complain about least if they'd start leaking things. I'm still a Star Wars fan, but I look at it with a less closed mind than I do DC-based movies. DC movies should conform to the decades worth of source material. However, Star Wars' characters and universe is defined primarily by the movies themselves. I wouldn't hold them to staying with the EU. I am curious what's in store in this movie, and I'm sure I'll surprised even if I go in with a knowledge of who the characters will be ahead of time.
