We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Looks like Sony has a lot of faith in the movie and REALLY wants it to do well. I hope we get positive reactions all around to build hype for the movie.

Sony have really stepped up their game. They may only have the Spider Man "universe" but they're utilising it very very well so far :) really excited for this!

Awesome!!!
ManCalledSting - 3/19/2014, 6:17 PM
The first one showed as much, if not more swinging and scaring and Raimi's first Spidey film. TASM was great, and this is looking even better.
arsonjack - 3/19/2014, 6:19 PM
yawn
Marvel1997 - 3/19/2014, 6:35 PM
Seeing that Sony really wants to make something special with their ""Spider man cinematic Universe"", and the fact that Marc Webb is only doing a trilogy, you would new to have people on board by AT LEAST the second movie, which explains why they seem to be going all out in this sequel in terms of visual effects, action ect...There were A LOT of people who despise TASM 1... It recieved a very mixed reaction. If this film isn't recieved well than people are going to give up on this reboot and the rest of the series outings will go down hill after this. This film is pretty much the make it or break it for this reboot.
Chloefornication - 3/19/2014, 7:42 PM
I hope they fix their mistakes with this movie.
Chloefornication - 3/19/2014, 7:53 PM
Okay this video got me really excited. Special effects for spidersense? Electric vision? Wow! Finally some amazing things.

@nailbiter111

His look is starting to grow on me.
That brief trailer fight scene looked bad ass so I thought what the hell sketch him out.

just make this come out in theaters now.

i'm more and more able to admit the possibility that they pull this off, which won't even necessarily mean a perfect Spidey movie, but i don't care, this just looks rad.

little things nag me still here and there about the stuff we're seeing, but i'm totally over any problems with any of the character designs. like just in a superficial sense, like Rhino's look and stuff like that, i'm buying into it beyond that initial goofiness. and over any worries about this or that being different in some way. i like what they're making up a lot.

i was kinda ready to jump past that the whole time tho anyway. but just do Peter a little more right, please, that's all. that's my one nagging monkey still, but at this point, i just want to see it, it looks so rad. and i think Peter being older will round off any problems i maybe would have with him.

everything with Garfield playing the character of Spider-Man is just great. wow. like when he's wearing the mask and talking and stuff. super great, i think, right on.

@Humperdink

That artwork is great!
Spidey10 - 3/20/2014, 6:54 AM
Just watched this and wow this sounds great...it seems this could be Spideys redemption movie for Spiderman 3 and TASM....its about damn time
dethpillow - 3/20/2014, 11:39 AM
@Spidey10 - and that's just the first 1/4,1/3 of the movie...
sounds like it's really tight and focused, u know? that's pretty crazy.
