Starring a small band of heroes -- Sabine, Kanan, Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper -- Star Wars Rebels is set in a time where the Empire rules through fear and shrouds the galaxy in darkness. This trailer offers many new glimpses at sequences from the show, including the starship Ghost chased by TIE Fighters; young Ezra watching as a Star Destroyer looms overhead; Stormtroopers marching; a zero-g fight between our heroes and Imperials; and Kanan, a secret Jedi, assembling his lightsaber and preparing for battle. It ends, however, with an Imperial officer reporting to the Inquisitor -- the Empire's Jedi hunter, seen and heard here for the first time. Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. The series, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.

Yeah,I'm in.
May the 4th be with you feckers.
Dmon - 5/4/2014, 12:33 AM
I think this looks good but still wish they would do a show that took place during the old republic. You would get a lot more Sith and Jedi that way and more gray areas between the two sides.
konoyaro - 5/4/2014, 12:50 AM
i guess im getting old.
konoyaro - 5/4/2014, 12:51 AM
pass the spliff
charlie2094 - 5/4/2014, 12:55 AM
Looks pretty cool, never got in to the Clone Wars, might check this out

Think Disney is going to do some great stuff with Star Wars, be good so far
DCwanabe - 5/4/2014, 12:57 AM
I think its going to be great. The people making this show know what they are doing.

Got chills when the imperial captain paused in disbelief at the sight of a Jedi. New Hope Era!
ndwwrestler2 - 5/4/2014, 1:25 AM
^ Thought about that too.

"Focus your fire on...on the Jedi!"

Humperdink - 5/4/2014, 1:29 AM
Introducing: Star Wars: Rebels

i guess im getting old. too.

But to be honest it looks like they've lowered the age of the target audience. A move Disney made with the Marvel cartoons. Almost all of the crew look like teenagers. There's even a Mandalorian punk rock graffiti artist.

Not saying this is going to be bad, but it's probably going to be another 'Avengers Assemble replacing an already superior Avengers cartoon' situation.

Humperdink - 5/4/2014, 1:31 AM

I seriously am skeptical.
The producers/creators keep saying they want all new characters.
If they do have bounty hunters it might be a new group.
Lozzy - 5/4/2014, 1:35 AM
Screw the haters, this looks awesome!
Bl00dwerK - 5/4/2014, 1:47 AM
I still don't like that CG animation...
ndwwrestler2 - 5/4/2014, 1:49 AM
@Itcamefromplanetearh They already said that they acknowledge the importance of Luke being the last of the Jedi, so it's possible that Kanan gets the axe on this show and Ezra loses any desire to become a Jedi.
Vegeta - 5/4/2014, 2:14 AM
It doesn't look bad, to be honest. However, it doesn't look like it's going to be as good as Clone Wars, but we'll see.
Vegeta - 5/4/2014, 2:23 AM
This show takes place between Revenge of the Sith and New Hope, so Luke isn't a Jedi yet. During Order 66, majority if the Jedi were killed, but some of them survived and went into hiding, just like Obi-Wan and Yoda.
Pending - 5/4/2014, 2:26 AM
Ohh those kinds of Rebels, bit of double meaning there...that's terrible.
ndwwrestler2 - 5/4/2014, 2:28 AM
@Itcamefromplanetearh Pointless? Not really. This is the suppose to be where the rebellion started. They'll probably add more people to the group (maybe more non-force users) and Kanan dies and becomes a rallying point for the small group to start a rebellion, I don't see that as pointless.
Ace101 - 5/4/2014, 2:45 AM
im really keen to watch this, animation is pretty sweet however i wish the animation was a bit more textured if that's the right word to describe it.

MrNiklander - 5/4/2014, 2:58 AM
I love this.SCREW THE HATERS this looks awesome
SkullFace616 - 5/4/2014, 3:16 AM
"It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their FIRST VICTORY against the evil Galactic Empire" ... Does this mean in Star Wars Rebels the good guys will keep losing until the end of the show, where they will get their first victory?
SkullFace616 - 5/4/2014, 3:18 AM
I do think this looks fun though. I hope it's not TOO childish, (Jar Jaresque) I don't think they'll do that. As for Inquisitor is he one of these? :
Ceejay - 5/4/2014, 3:34 AM
Great, more teen Star Wars characters so the kiddie audience can relate, pass!
Triptheorist - 5/4/2014, 3:42 AM
@itcamefromplanetearth Sadly, TFU is not cannon, which is a shame because I found it to be an interesting story.

I'll wait and see how Rebels turns out, but my hopes aren't high. It looks like they're doing to Star Wars what they did to Avengers:EMH by retooling the show for a dumber (not younger) audience.
DrVenkman - 5/4/2014, 3:50 AM
Good call @skullface616

There is too much crap in the Star Wars universe that even the people creating new content can't keep it all straight. They should only add new movies/shows if there is an actual story that is worth while to tell, not just to move the brand forward and confuse continuity. If there was a story to tell here, there would have been an episode 3.5
Parkerluckpersonified - 5/4/2014, 3:50 AM
Pretty cool
ezio619 - 5/4/2014, 5:41 AM
ACE-james gunn on twitter replied to someones question about when the new trailer will come out and he said it is not long now that we see a new trailer

also, the guys behind this show have said that while this show will not be as dark as clone wars, its tone will be closer to the original trilogy also people who are complaining that disney is gonna kiddify it or its gonna be childish...the original trilogy were kids movies, george lucas decided to go that route instead of making an adult sci fi film like 2001, he wanted to pay homage to the serials he grew up, he tch as a kid, the flash gordon serials so he made star wars
Devso - 5/4/2014, 5:47 AM
This looks promising
Dandy - 5/4/2014, 5:59 AM
Skrew the haters. They were all naysayers for The Clone Wars as well. And look how well that one turned out! This is the same animation team, same animation style, and this looks like a lot of fun.
LIO - 5/4/2014, 6:00 AM
Ace101 - 5/4/2014, 6:01 AM
@ezio619 thanks man
FastFlames - 5/4/2014, 6:08 AM
@LIO haha dude, nice gif of Boba Fett flying dude.
Dandy - 5/4/2014, 6:12 AM

All of which The Clone Wars also had......and this is being made by the same people.

ezio619 - 5/4/2014, 6:14 AM
Darth-they were mainly kids films THAT adults could enjoy too, again this is the same team behind clone wars ,dave filoni who was the head of clone wars, greg weisman who created shows such as spectacular spider man and young justice, also gargoyles and simon kinberg who is working on the star wars films as well, they have said the tone of the show will be akin to the original trilogy ,specifically A New Hope so i think it will have dark, dramatic moments but mainly be a fun space adventure show
