Last week, it was officially announced that Batman-less television series, Gotham, was picked up by Fox and a full season has been ordered. Today, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that actors Cory Michael Smith, Victoria Cartagena and Andrew Stewart Jones have been promoted to series regulars. All three had guest roles in the pilot. Smith plays forensic scientist Edward Nygma. A character that in the comics eventually becomes The Riddler. Cartagena (Renee Montoya) and Jones (Crispus Allen) both play Gotham detectives.

Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Television, GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. Starring Ben McKenzie ("Southland," "The O.C."), Donal Logue ("Sons of Anarchy," "Terriers," "Vikings," "Copper") and Jada Pinkett Smith ("The Matrix" films, "HawthoRNe"), GOTHAM follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Executive producer Bruno Heller ("The Mentalist") wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the "CSI" franchise, "Nikita"). John Stephens will serve as an executive producer on the series.

I like GOTHAM PD as series regulars but having characters like Edward Nygma as a reg, I dunno.

This show should be a cross between NYPD:BLUE/CSI/SOUTHLAND without pre-supervillain's stuff, I mean Selina as Catgirl? :P

Hoping for the best though... cool find @ Nail

I wasn't interested in this but after that trailer I am officially excited for this.

"Sometimes I think this city is curse"

Go to Wiki and look up how Gotham came to be a city and you'll understand the real significance of that statement.

I was already interested in this before but I'm Really diggin' on that trailer.

Though I really hope they aren't just shoehorning Batman characters into this
TheFirstAvenger97 - 5/11/2014, 9:26 PM
I like @LEEE777 ideas. Also, Why are most of Batman's way older than him?
TheFanOfEverything - 5/11/2014, 9:34 PM
Man I'm so excited for all the CB tv shows and movies coming out.

CRISPUS ALLEN AND RENEE MONTOYA CONFIRMED?!?!

HOLY SNAP! THIS WILL AWESOME!

Batboy's too young to be all that important, is there any chance, any chance at all, that someone else may be wearing a mask and cleaning up Gotham? If just one episode was about the nocturnal shenanigans of local TV reporter Vic Sage, I would be 1 million percent more positive about this how.

I'll be give it a chance.

TheFirstAvenger97 @ ; D

Yeah man, why are they older than him, a lot older some of them, that's not gonna work?

I just hope we don't get BS like Oswald Cobblepot or Edward Nygma kidnapping young Bruce etc - really don't think any of these villains should ever come across or meet Bruce Wayne until he's The Batman, meaning never in the TV show...

But looks like Selina be meeting him in the pilot by the looks of that trailer?

SPOCK @ Love THE QUESTION!

Can NBC use non Batman characters though?
BANE5000 - 5/11/2014, 10:34 PM
@Nomis

Are u talking about the occult influence on the area that Gotham City was built on?
BANE5000 - 5/11/2014, 10:36 PM
Am I the only one loving the look and feel Gotham City has in this show?

Something that was shown greatly in Batman Begins but ignored in the sequels...

When actors/actresses doing guest roles are promoted to series regulars in TV shows, it means they impressed the network and show creators.

This show will kick ass
loki668 - 5/12/2014, 12:30 AM
Gotham has a nice, dark look to it. I'm hoping that this show has legs but I am still worried.

The Question showing up in this show would make me watch it every week. Hands [frick]ing down. Question interacting with the "Batman villains" pre villain would be something I'd watch.

Since they already [frick]ed the continuity to hell with that gay ass Catwoman kid shit anyway...the [frick]...

What would be AMAZING..

One of the best parts of Arrow, is all the flashbacks to the Island. It brilliantly ties into the present and makes the show even more interesting.

What if.. and I know this probably won't happen.. but what if.. Gotham took the same idea, but gave us flash forwards to Batman? Even if we only saw Batman for like 60 seconds in each episode, it would still be cool

It wouldn't be all that hard to pull off.

Hey guys, could you check out my FAN ART series "BEFORE BATMAN" here? It's based on the same concept as GOTHAM
