POLL/DISCUSSION: What Did You Think Of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST?

Bryan Singer's new X-flick has been running in most theaters since Thursday night, and although there's still a couple of days left in the Memorial Day weekend, we figured the majority of you die-hard CBMers would've been to see it by now. So, let us know what you thought of the movie after the jump.

As you can see from our regular box office updates, X-Men: Days Of Future Past is surpassing even the very high expectations set by analysts and is well on the way to being one of the most financially successful movies of the year so far. Of course that's not always an indication of quality, but it also holds a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes (there's been a slight drop over the past couple of days) which is pretty rare for a comic book movie. Of course, there are those who just won't get behind Fox's X-Men franchise because of its unfaithfulness to the comics on which it's based -- and it's a fair argument: these movies do take a lot of liberties. But did that effect your enjoyment of Days Of Future Past? Or was the film's quality enough to compensate? Do you care if the movies stick to comics? Do you even agree that this was a good film in the first place? Vote, and share your thoughts in the usual place.

pesmerga44 - 5/25/2014, 8:45 AM
I said very good in a numerical graph I would give it an 8-8.5. I really did like the film some issues I had mainly gripes and the ending unfortunately puts in stone who has plot armor. It just sucks because now you know what ever danger any of the characters we saw in the future are in nothing can really happen to them.
KallarkKent - 5/25/2014, 8:48 AM
I voted for "very good." You can see my reasoning in my review:

Not so bad to call it Garbage... but yet another disappointing "X-Men" movie.

Bryan Singer is at the point now of disregarding what have been established in the previous X-Men movies as well as their comics.

Even more ironic he shows scenes from the previous movies that if anyone were to watch in chronological order and then DOFP it would more confusing than trying to solve the Riddle of the Sphinx !

Best film of the series to date

Unmissable. I absolutely loved it. The faith on this franchise's future has been restored (pun intended).

@RoR

You sure gonna get a lot of "garbage" numbers once Dellamorte, SunnyD, YoungThanos and some of the boycott crew members get a hold of this.
vermillion - 5/25/2014, 8:58 AM
Amazing! 9/10

Had quite some emotional impact.
Pasto - 5/25/2014, 8:58 AM
This film was such a let down that I'm not disappointed to say I torrented it like crazy.
BatManiac - 5/25/2014, 8:58 AM
I don't have a bad word to say about this movie. It's a fantastically written and directed, with stellar performances all around. It provides superb action sequences in a compelling story that's perfectly balanced with humour and serious drama. X-Men: Days of Future Past is an exquisite piece of film making, and one of the best comic book movies ever made.
ALegendaryPanda - 5/25/2014, 8:59 AM
Basically, what BatManiac said.

It's a site called lunapic. You upload the image, edit the image to 70x70, then boom there you go.

Very Good, but I just had the itch that they are cratically holding back for that apocalypse film. lol
TheRationalNerd - 5/25/2014, 9:00 AM
*drastically*
Ramiel - 5/25/2014, 9:01 AM
This movie is in my top 5 CBMs of all time with Avengers, Spider-Man 2, Dark Knight, and Iron Man.
MrMartinMarvel - 5/25/2014, 9:01 AM
@Chrome Nomis is far from a troll, he's just a very old school comic book fan.
Canary - 5/25/2014, 9:01 AM
Am I the only one who was profoundly disappointed? The script was terrible.
First of all, way too many characters. We didn't need to see Blink, Sunspot, Toad or any of those mutants - all it did was keep a couple of cgi guys employed. Wolverine's character was so watered down, I felt sorry for Hugh Jackman, and Fassbender is clearly uncomfortable acting opposite a green screen. Speaking of which, Magneto's helmet looked like it was made of styrofoam. Talk about cheap.
Quicksilver: very cool sequence, but this kid is nothing like the Pietro Maximoff we know and love. The scene with the little sister in his lap - yes, that's supposed to be Wanda - but they backtracked on that because their continuity people didn't realize they were supposed to be twins. I was a stupid mistake. I know Marvel is going to give us a true representation.
The big highlight for me was James McAvoy's performance. This guy is a superb actor and does wonders with the lousy script. He is my Professor X and I find it really disturbing that he grows up to be boring old Patrick Stewart...

Although one thing that I would've liked to see was a little bit of the back story with the sentinels wiping out humanity and mutants. But they explained it well enough so that's not really a flaw, I just wanted to see it. Lol
SniktBub - 5/25/2014, 9:03 AM
@Pasto at least you watched it lol
Pasto - 5/25/2014, 9:03 AM

Don't forget Frozen.
Nomis - 5/25/2014, 9:04 AM
@ MrMartinMarvel - Thanks.

Having an opinion that differs from the majority is now considered "trolling"? What would be the point of the poll?

And isn't being different from the majority and yet still being true to yourself the basis for the X-men in general.
DefcoN - 5/25/2014, 9:04 AM
2014 will probably end up being the best year for CMBs yet. So ready for GOTG now.

CA:TWS 10/10
TASM 2 8/10
DOFP 9.5/10
SirDuckAlot - 5/25/2014, 9:04 AM
Very disappointed

The trolls will come and it's funny cause they'll post their opinion but yet still haven't seen the movie

Klone - 5/25/2014, 9:05 AM
Pasto is not a troll. This thread's very purpose is for people to express their honest opinions. I see no rule set in stone commanding people who happen to dislike to [frick] off.
ALegendaryPanda - 5/25/2014, 9:05 AM
I like how Grif hasn't even seen the movie, yet on other threads he keeps saying Cap 2 is better.
Ramiel - 5/25/2014, 9:05 AM
@Pesto

Frozen is not a CBM, jackass.
knighted - 5/25/2014, 9:05 AM
This might be the first film to feature wolverine were he did absolutely nothing he was useless.
BatManiac - 5/25/2014, 9:07 AM
"The script was terrible."

Klone - 5/25/2014, 9:07 AM
I've seen people give very good reasons for having Frozen as their number one, Pasto so give that a damn rest already. And these are people whose lists actually consisted of some of 2013's best and most well made films. The reasoning some people have gave is based more an individual emotion and sentiment rather than looking at it objectively.
Pasto - 5/25/2014, 9:08 AM
Ramiel
My apologies.
