i can't believe people really thought that this would be going in a "new direction". If you get the same director its not going in a different damn direction. Im not surprised this movie is just more of the same shit from before. Poor Kelsey Grammar though, he deserves better then this.

The Rotten Tomatoes page for this film is some fun reading as the professional critics get their opinions down (Did they screen this one late to try and dodge critics, by the way?)

"It just refuses to end."
"One thing you have to give Bay credit for: He has a knack for bringing A-list talent down to his level."
"It's long, it's loud and it's really stupid."
"Sitting through Transformers: Age of Extinction is like binge-watching the death of the human spirit."
"Michael Bay has done the impossible.... made the worst and most worthless Transformers movie yet."
"...Driving moviegoing into the ground."
"An elephantine stinker"
"cinema has finally entered its Age of Extinction."
"Hello, police? I'd like to report an assault."
"Give Age Of Extinction this much credit: Of all the Transformers movies, this is the longest."
"One-hundred-and-sixty-five minutes. Think about that."
"You will feel dumber for having sat through it."
"It may be loud and stupid, but at least it's loud and stupid"
"The race to the title of Worst Transformers Movie has a new contender."
"How dare you Michael Bay? How dare you?"
MantiniumBorn - 6/26/2014, 6:41 PM
@Jollem

CaptShipwreck - 6/26/2014, 6:42 PM

JoJo1982 - 6/26/2014, 6:43 PM
@AOS

Yessir!!!

I can tell ya'll this 3 late night showings of the same time, all SOLD OUT a hour before the movie starts
Chewtoy - 6/26/2014, 6:43 PM
Avengers just proves that it's not the genre or content that's the problem, it's the execution that matters.
KidGoku - 6/26/2014, 6:46 PM
Hahah Jollem that's dead on!
0megaDaGod - 6/26/2014, 6:47 PM
@Jollem

it's crazy cause you could replace each box with a scene from Man Of Steel and it works out the same

Moral of the story: Do something awesome and more people will copy you with attempts to be equally as awesome
thewolfx - 6/26/2014, 6:47 PM
You know what i like jollem

That boy stays committed to his stupid
0megaDaGod - 6/26/2014, 6:48 PM
LMAO @ The RT score
MrCBM56 - 6/26/2014, 6:48 PM
And it's funny, Avengers took Transformers "ideas" and did it... dare I say; Better!
MrCBM56 - 6/26/2014, 6:49 PM
13%... Well damn.
AlexanderLykins - 6/26/2014, 6:50 PM
That looks like the work of a butthurt Nolanite.
0megaDaGod - 6/26/2014, 6:50 PM
They actually beat out the score for Revenge Of The Fallen
MantiniumBorn - 6/26/2014, 6:51 PM
@Jollem

Spot on...
CaptShipwreck - 6/26/2014, 6:52 PM
You know who else did this ... The watch with Ben stiller
0megaDaGod - 6/26/2014, 6:52 PM
@MrCBM

I think I wouldn't even say better, I just think it put more work into making the characters themselves more interesting, so when shit gets blown up it doesn't seem as lifeless

But in my opinion all the destruction in Transformers isn't even a bad thing. I always laugh at people who try to diss a movie by saying copied Transformers. I'm GLAD movies take inspiration from the awesome parts in other movies. And it happens way more than people give credit for
LexHairFight - 6/26/2014, 6:52 PM
The snobs at the Guardian put it best - they'd be happy to watch a movie of the Avengers sitting around having coffee, something Michael Bay has never learned.

TDK was a better executed version of Heat. No real attempt to hide it. Love both movies too.
CaptShipwreck - 6/26/2014, 6:53 PM
@ omega

Yup
MrCBM56 - 6/26/2014, 6:55 PM
@0megaDaGod Totally agree.
Jollem - 6/26/2014, 6:57 PM
@MrCBM56 - yes. they took ideas from the transformers. you are correct on that one :)
LexHairFight - 6/26/2014, 7:00 PM
Serious question Jollem, how old are you? We know how old you act, but how old are you actually?
Phronesis - 6/26/2014, 7:00 PM
Review is pretty much spot on though I gave the film bonus points for being able to withhold my span for a longer period of time. Like I said the film can be really enjoyable at times, but struggles with a convoluted storyline that's forcefully intertwined, weak characters, and a way too long running time.
MantiniumBorn - 6/26/2014, 7:02 PM
People agree.... they are glad Avengers stole its plot points from Transformers...

MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm....

Interesting.....
MrCBM56 - 6/26/2014, 7:03 PM
Did you see my quotations on "ideas"? Portals, aliens, invasions, spaceships... It's nothing new. Transformers wasn't the first to use it and it's not the last.
MrCBM56 - 6/26/2014, 7:04 PM
@MantiniumMan What plot-points? You mean plot devices and even then, it's merely that.
MantiniumBorn - 6/26/2014, 7:05 PM
@Jollem

Yeah I am glad my favorite comic book movie stole[shia leboufed it] Transformers....

I mean...I am glad Avengers plot points were lifted from Transformers....

Hang on a minute, this movie's out?!
LexHairFight - 6/26/2014, 7:07 PM
Welcome back MrCBM, didn't you miss all this immaturity?
MrCBM56 - 6/26/2014, 7:09 PM
@AOSgotAlright Haha, thanks man.
