TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION Critics TV Spot

Michael Bay's fourth Transformers flick currently sits at 18% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it seems Paramount were still able to scrape together enough positive quotes for this brief critics spot, which also features a few snippets of new footage.

Spock0Clock - 6/27/2014, 2:01 AM
18 percent.

Amazing512 - 6/27/2014, 2:04 AM
So when does Guardians of the Galaxy come out again?
Pending - 6/27/2014, 2:06 AM
Yeah sucks about Snowpiercer. It's probably going to get an even smaller release thanks to this movie.
JoJo1982 - 6/27/2014, 2:06 AM
It's better than part 2 and 3 that's for sure

Haduken - 6/27/2014, 2:09 AM
It's better than part 2.that's it. Horrible movie
BaneNascent - 6/27/2014, 2:10 AM
I just got back from watching it for the Midnight run. The movie is super entertaining. An 18%? That's really rough and not justified, wait till some good critics look it over. Optimus Prime first shows up with a iconic version of himself. After you watch Grimlock, Scorn, Strafe, Slug etc it's all smiles. Just as good as Transformers 3, but on a expanded scale and what they leave open for the next movie is pretty exciting.
JoJo1982 - 6/27/2014, 2:20 AM
@haduken

Heck it was better than the 3rd one too
Way more screentime for the autobots, I was very surprised about that
Also
Mark > Shia
Humor was tone down, no toilet or sex humor... Thank God and the guy who was going to be the comic relief of the movie, thankfully they killed him off 35 minutes into the movie
Amazing512 - 6/27/2014, 2:22 AM
Granted I'm not a huge fan of this franchise nor do I even plan on seeing this but I was going through some of those reviews and a lot of them seem very forced.
A lot of the reviews trashing it didn't seem to offer much insight but enjoyed coming up with as many tropes as they could to pan it.
Like I said,I'm not a fan of this franchise, butt a lot of those reviews seemed pre-meditated. I'm talking before they actually saw the film pre-meditated.
JoJo1982 - 6/27/2014, 2:30 AM
@amazing

Let me give u a example how dumb this move is.....

Optimus Prime flies away to space at the end of the movie and that will make u say....... Why didn't he do this earlier?

The running time is really bad for this type of movie
ShawnMadden - 6/27/2014, 2:42 AM
I actually loved it. The comedy in it for once was actually funny and the action was nuts. But that's me (die hard TF collector since the late 80's)
NeoBaggins - 6/27/2014, 2:44 AM
The movie was [frick]in bananas. What they're suggesting for the next film is going to be even crazier.

They should have some fun and make a TV spot with the bad review quotes. They are poetically epic and hilarious.

Low RT score? duh Don't all the TF films get that? lol

Gotta see this shit again.
Spock0Clock - 6/27/2014, 2:45 AM
Has there ever been a movie or series that has ever been this reviled by critics, yet so consistently profitable? Maybe some of the more blatant religious moneygrabs like Son of God, but usually critics aren't nearly as negative and they aren't nearly as profitable.

I think Michael Bay has officially broken film criticism as an element of a movie's success. Capitalism is burning. We are all dying. The Universe is a bleak window of pain in a field of nothingness...
seantwakafilmyguy - 6/27/2014, 3:06 AM
This is the most hilarious ad ever.
MrSotoMan - 6/27/2014, 3:13 AM
Reminds me of the ad for Terminator Salvation

[frick]ING LIARS!!!
Arrow96 - 6/27/2014, 3:28 AM
Don't watch it guys. It is the second best Transformers, but it's boring as hell and I'm on the edge of hating this film. It's stupid and pointless.
SuperCat - 6/27/2014, 3:32 AM
I just want to see some sh*t explode. Catching it tomorrow.
Whiteandgold - 6/27/2014, 3:36 AM

I TOOK MY FRIENDS NOW IM TAKING MY FAMILY TO SEE IT TODAY AND ITS ABOUT 20 OF US SO......
loki668 - 6/27/2014, 3:54 AM
Shit blew up. Robots fought. Humans were superfluous (though not as much as usual). Pretty much what I expected. It was a VAST improvement over the last two. Of course, my theatre serves alcohol so that may have helped:)
grif - 6/27/2014, 3:56 AM
critics said tf3 was the best action movie ever. lmfao
MoonDoggyX - 6/27/2014, 4:31 AM
Hate or love this, its the best Transformers yet. Marky mark is WAY better yhan shia. This movie is just as long TDKR, but doesnt feel like it. Its very well paced. Right at about the 2hr mark is when we get the dinobots and the movie feels fresh again...
Badmuffin - 6/27/2014, 5:04 AM
wow...and the same shit will happen to the Turtles. Thank you Michael Bay for destroy my childhood. F***k you and your Picassobot
Nomis1800 - 6/27/2014, 5:05 AM
CG digi-IMAX porn yaaaaaaass
Deodorant - 6/27/2014, 6:59 AM
Just saw it a couple hours ago.... been there, done that. Pretty much same sh*t same smell. The CGI of the liguid metal, or whatever it is, was horrible. I thought TF3 was better, mainly cus this one was obviously made to milk even more crap out of the franchise.
TheRationalNerd - 6/27/2014, 7:02 AM
Still seeing it and still spending my cash on the 3D/IMAX FVCK a bootleg! lol
Chewtoy - 6/27/2014, 7:06 AM
What's especially hilarious is that even the "positive" marked reviews on Rotten Tomatoes tear into it, so clearly standards are already lowered. Were this the quality of the next entry in the Dark Knight or Avengers franchise, it would be sporting a 0%.
NerdyKevin15 - 6/27/2014, 7:22 AM
this movie was glorious and I love it.
Vaportrail - 6/27/2014, 7:39 AM
People are so biased toward this series, I'm sure they're hating it more than a honest, fair review would.

Besides, who cares what Rotten Tomatoes says? If you want to see it, go see it. If you liked it, good. If you didn't, well, oh well.
BaneSmash - 6/27/2014, 7:40 AM
It was a fun movie to watch............. A bit long but it was ok.
FastFlames - 6/27/2014, 7:50 AM
Seeing it tomorrow and excited out of my mind!
BlackConvoy - 6/27/2014, 8:03 AM
This movie is the equivalent of fast food. Most summer movies are. As long as you add fat and sugar, or fat and salt, people will eat it up regardless of how crappy it is. You have your McDonald's of the world where all their meat is frozen, warmed up ready to serve, and people eat it up. Then you have your spots like say Shake Shack, that is still fast food, but their burgers are cooked on site, medium well, unless you request otherwise.
xStarLordx - 6/27/2014, 8:10 AM
Personally, I thought it was great. I'll admit I'm biased though. With these movies you see alot of people give bad reviews and talk about how bad the movie is, especially on the internet. BUT what I've noticed is more people who hate the movies voice there opinion online and in reviews, but when I talk to other people about these movies in person they talk about how great they are. So I think the problem is "haters" (not everyone is a hater but its easier to say that than specify) voice there opinions. Also its different on other sites. On here, most people hate it. On TFW2005, its half and half. So if you have a problem with peoples opionions either a)Ignore what anyone thinks if you know you'll be unhappy with what they say or b)If you'd rather hear what people thought was good, go to a site with less "haters".
aRandomSinisterClone - 6/27/2014, 8:27 AM
why is this on the main? and well written articles arent? this is just another copy n paste job. anything to sell ad space i guess.
