Gywneth Paltrow Seems Pretty Certain There Won't Be An IRON MAN 4

We've heard from most of the cast of Iron Man 3 on this matter already, but they've given pretty vague "we'll see what happens" type answers. Paltrow does not! Check out the video interview after the jump.

Below is Geek Nation's video package from the Iron Man 3 US junket. It features interviews with Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow and the very enthusiastic Kevin McCarthy asks a few interesting questions. But without a doubt the highlight is Paltrow's response to being asked about a fourth movie around the 6 minute mark.

"I don’t think there’s going to be [an Iron Man 4]. I think we’re done with Iron Man."

If you watch the vid it certainly sounds like she's being sincere, and at least does believe that there won't be another one. Of course Downey Jr. has hinted as much too -- is it possible that Paltrow knows that he's declined to sign a new contract? Iron Man 3 would definitely serve as a conclusion to the character's on-screen adventures..at least for the foreseeable future.

What can I say, if there was ever a bow out movie, it'd be an "in unison" Avengers 2, not a 4th installment
marcvader1 - 4/25/2013, 5:53 AM
I'm ok if she's not in the next installment so whatever.
Praetorian - 4/25/2013, 6:00 AM
Good. A trilogy is enough but I want him in avengers 2 and 3
jobe2009 - 4/25/2013, 6:03 AM
DaysGoneBy, you realize that's happened in the books, right? I'm not going to repeat your spoiler, but if you're gonna complain about accuracy, then maybe you should do your homework.

You really sound like a whiney little 9-year-old when you keep posting in these threads. You're not going to stop any of us from seeing it. It's amazing how much time you're dedicating to trying to post spoilers and tell people to boycott the movie. Don't you have anything better to do with your life?
Supes17 - 4/25/2013, 6:04 AM
I think he's going to die in Avengers 2.
He used the last years of his life to make up for his mistakes, serve humanity, save NYC, and ultrimately become a superhero. He was a "dead man walking" as soon as the shrapnel entered his chest.
Supes17 - 4/25/2013, 6:06 AM
Either that or he pulls a Bruce Wayne and decides to actually live a happy life with his significant other
Supes17 - 4/25/2013, 6:13 AM
I agree with Grif. Iron man 4 will be here eventually, with or without RDJ
AmazingFantasy - 4/25/2013, 6:13 AM
Black better be kicked off.

How they bing him back will be very interesting...

Keen for Avengers 2!
marvel72 - 4/25/2013, 6:14 AM
lets see what iron man 3 makes if its anywhere near a billion there will be an iron man 4.
RPD - 4/25/2013, 6:17 AM
I don't give a rat's ass about a "twist". [frick] a big bunch of a "twist". [frick] the word "twist", too. I don't even care...
jobe2009 - 4/25/2013, 6:17 AM
Once again, DaysGoneBy, you sound like a 9-year-old. They aren't avoiding the film because of you. The spoilers you keep posting are widely available on the internet, if someone wants to see them, they can. Nobody needs you to "warn the true fans". And I love how you completely ignored the first thing I said. Apparently you must not be much of a true fan if you don't think at least one of the things you've said happened in the comics.
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:19 AM
Even if Iron Man 3 is the greatest, I don't want to see a 4th one. Marvel has so many great characters they could start focusing on. To many different directions they could take.
AmazingFantasy - 4/25/2013, 6:19 AM
@Daysgoneby should shut the [frick] up.
i hate the twsits as much as the next raging nerd, but that's a crazy obsession kiddo.
i a couple of days ill probably forget this even exists,

AmazingFantasy - 4/25/2013, 6:20 AM
Woah you don't go telling people to kill themselves..

harsh
SuperSomething616 - 4/25/2013, 6:23 AM
@ DaysGoneBy - who's disrespecting the true fans now for revealing all the films twists and turns and spoiling the end for people who have yet to see the film and draw up their own opinion...

Yes that's right you whiny little b*tch you are!!! Crawl back in to your hole and go back to sucking your mum's tit!!!
The14thAvenger - 4/25/2013, 6:26 AM
@daysgoneby you are not warning "true fans" you are destroying the experience and enjoyment of the film for everyone. Now no matter what you say I am a true fan, and despite going into the cinema wit the twist already ruined for me (from people like you) I loved the film. At the end of the day the MCU is no longer just a translation of page to screen, it's (as stated in the name) it's own universe and like when the ultimate universe was formed it was a chance to see events and characters we like in a different light. Now personally I am not a fan of the ultimate comics, but you don't see me bitching and whining. It is clear that the MCU is a mix of 616/ultimate and an entirely new filmic approach. Things are going to be different, and because of that people will have their opinions on Iron man 3. But not for one second does that give you the right to believe that anyone on this site will benefit from your inconsiderate approach to commenting on this site. you sir if anything are showing yourself up and as not a "true fan" and I highly hope that anyone no matter what thoughts on any Marvel/DC/CBMs would back me up in saying just log the [frick] off and never come back. Rant over
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:27 AM
DaysGoneBy, I was planning on not seeing Iron Man 3 until the video but now your building up my curiosity.

HAVE TO GO SEE IT FIRST DAY NOW
Dinotron - 4/25/2013, 6:27 AM
As long as we see iron man in avengers 2 and 3 ill be happy!
manymade1 - 4/25/2013, 6:29 AM
I can see now I'm gonna have to stay off anything Iron Man until Saturday.
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:29 AM
DaysGoneBy, Do you really believe that ? It didn't stop true DC fans from seeing TDKR after what they did to Bane.
CoulsonLives - 4/25/2013, 6:30 AM
Where did my comment go? XD
AmazingFantasy - 4/25/2013, 6:31 AM
Don't make him cry guys
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:31 AM
DaysGoneBy, plus I have alreay learned to skip all your comments. Didn't take long to figure out your not a DC or Marvel comic fan.
IDKwhatToChoose - 4/25/2013, 6:31 AM
@days you are an absolute douchebag. I didn't know the twists and you spoiled probably my most anticipated movie of the year. I'm still gonna see it twice just cuz you're a douche. I would tell you to have a few drinks and drive home but you would probably hurt some other than yourself
CoulsonLives - 4/25/2013, 6:31 AM
If you haven't read my poem yet...
My Phase One Poem:
by Phil Coulson

Let me start from the beginning...

It started with a man, who built armor with scraps...
Due to the fact terrorists captured him, and given him all this crap...
Someone stole his ideas, but ended up going BOOM...
The same thing happened again... But this time with a friend, who stole his suit from his home...

Now it's about Gamma rays, it didn't effect him as much as he thought...
But when you make him angry, a monster was brought...
He was on the run, scared and alone...
But when an Abomination shows... His anger is shown

Now our story goes to Asgard, about a soon to be king.
And his brother Loki, who got a jealousy type thing...
He was banished to Earth, where he was ran over twice...
It turns out his brother came from men who love ice...
The brothers fought and fought... Until he broke the bridge...
Loki fell down below... And now fangirls put his face on a fridge... -_-

This story goes way back to the 40's... Nazis everywhere...
It's about a sickly man named Steve, who would soon kick ass from here to there...
Steve became an icon, a hero to many...
But he sadly never got to dance with a women named Peggy.

Now it's present day. Where Loki runs around.....
But when Earth's Mightiest are here... Loki gets smashed into the ground...

I would finish this story, but here's a problem...
But that's for phase two, so go on and watch'em... ;)
Happy11 - 4/25/2013, 6:31 AM
Just watched iron man 3 and I fell asleep it's boring and crap and I can't see anymore im movies.
TonyChu - 4/25/2013, 6:32 AM
CBM needs to start banning people's IP addresses, the amount of people that keep spoiling the movie is baffling.
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:32 AM
I saw the Avengers 6 times a the movies. Looks like I will see Iron Man 3, six times too.
AlibiBreakfast - 4/25/2013, 6:34 AM
I think RDJ may have told her to cool it after her last interview when she indicated she would return if he wanted her to. I'm guessing he wants maximum leverage during his negotiations with Marvel.
Supes17 - 4/25/2013, 6:34 AM
@DoubleD
At least Bane was a villain and not an actor in TDKR :P
Trollolo
Ok I'm done lol. It's not like I won't watch the film, 'm sure it'll be great regardless
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:36 AM
DaysGoneBy looks like your the only true fan here. The rest of us are going to go see Iron Man 3. I took the day of work May 3rd. It's NATIONAL MARVEL DAY !
TheOther - 4/25/2013, 6:36 AM
either you die a hero or live, long enough to see yourself become james bond.
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:37 AM
Supes17, point is Bane was not even close to the comic book version and we all went and saw it.
thespiderkat - 4/25/2013, 6:37 AM
good..that doesnt mean that the characters wont be showing up in the future in avengers 2 or as cameos in other movies. others should follow that example, instead of regurgitating 7 movies with the same character (and another reboot on the way)

good for marvel for letting the characters and audience rest for a while and take the chance to explore other characters in their comic-book universe. instead of keep milking the same two cows eternally.

anthonyEstark - 4/25/2013, 6:38 AM
Hey good poem Mr. Coulson
Supes17 - 4/25/2013, 6:38 AM
I'm way more excited for Thor 2 than Iron Man 3
Captain America ONLY because of Black Widow;) and Buck's return.
And Avengers 2 will kick ass
AmazingFantasy - 4/25/2013, 6:40 AM
This wont spoil anything
But, Mandarin is comic relief

Not the enjoyable kind
TheBoss117 - 4/25/2013, 6:41 AM
No more Iron Mans huh Gwen? Just like no more LOTR films?...oh wait....

Just like no more Pirates of the Carribean?....oh, nope..nope

I got it!...Just like no more STAR WARS!.....damn

DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:41 AM
DaysGoneBy, just curious why are you acting like a jerk. Did you have bad experience growing up ? Serious why are you so angry. Your not hurting anyone. We will all live and get over it and still go see the movie. Your the only one that will be angry all day.
DoubleD - 4/25/2013, 6:46 AM
Avengers 6 times. Twice at the IMAX 3D, once 3D only, 3 times at the regular showing. MJR theatres 4.00 dollar back then if you went before noon.
