Neil Marshall May Be Directing "Predators"

While it's still only a rumour, word is that Neil Marshall is the man to bring Predators to the screen.
I had thought that Robert Rodriguez was directing the upcoming "Predator" sequel(are we calling it a sequel now?) but it turns out hes only producing it..in other words, putting his name on it!

According to the lads at Total Film, their sources are pointing to the Doomsday/Dog Soldiers man as all but signed to tackle the new pic.

Marshall is probably best known for "Doomsday" stateside, but by far his best movie is "The Descent". This guy can certainly bring the scary, but im not sure how he would handle the sci fi adventure elements. Time will tell, we await confirmation!

Awesome, I love his movies. I checked out dog soldiers years ago when I worked at a video store. I thought it was going to be total crap but it was pretty nice! The reactions of the soldiers to the werewolves was pretty hilarious.

The Descent is class. Simple concept. Simple yet horrifying creatures. I was able to see the uk cut so it didnt end happy. Best "cave movie" I've ever seen.

I didnt know he did Doomsday. Should I watch that? Anyone?

i like this director but i'm not as excited now knowing Rodriguez is only producing it.....odd - considering they were re-writing his script for it - maybe he'll get some writing creds too.

this just means Rodriguez is gonna put his dumbass chick in a headlining role now...sooner than later....god help us all.

I WANNA SEE PREDATORS,COOL HUNTING WEAPONS OF ALIEN TECHNOLOGY, A BADASS HERO OR A SEXY TOUGH GIRL AS THE HUNTED OR HUNTER AND A GOOD STOYLINE, THE FIRST ONE HAD THE FEELING, SECOND ONE HAD IT TOO, REGARDLESS IF THEY ARE BUFF LIKE DUTCH OR A RAMBO POLICE OFFICER IN A ROUGH PART OF TOWN, OR A GIRL TRAPPED IN A BAD SITUATION AND FIGHTING BACK FEARLESS, IT WILL WORK..
GUNSMITH - 6/12/2009, 5:42 PM
sounds good predator needs to be scary in a way, but with action dat be sweet, bring it on a rated r hopefully

Now We're getting somewhere. I love Dog Soldiers, and The Decent was really good as well. This should be great.
longbowhunter - 6/12/2009, 7:23 PM
After seeing The Descent, I kind of can see him as the man for the job.
Bandrews1 - 6/12/2009, 8:11 PM
This could be interesting, he's certainly got the horror down which, sci-fi aside, is the heart of the movie. Predator i think works best as a monster movie, sort of in the vane of creature of the black lagoon.

And is it just me or did GUNSMITH adopt a little brother and namehim WulfComicFan?
thwhtGuardian - 6/12/2009, 11:27 PM
His work on Dog Soldiers proves he can make a good movie under crappy circumstances, just imagine what he can do w/ a real budget
deadpool87 - 6/13/2009, 9:02 AM
they must make it rated-R..plus an origins tale of the predator race on their home planet...civil war and such..and their warrior antics will definitely be well-acclaimed i think...they can even hint at the possible rivalry with aliens (to a small extent i might add)...and the end shows them heading to earth as their new hunting ground
Anil Rickly - 6/13/2009, 10:38 AM
No home world no aliens just some good old 80's R rated action with one predator vs some hard assed no nonsence "but with a heart of gold" bastard played by Jack Black, on an oil rigg with a meteor 24 hrs from earth....................in 3D
teabag - 6/13/2009, 1:55 PM
HOME WORLD!!!! ; )
