Edgar Wright Says His Involvement With The New STAR WARS Movies Is "Unlikely"
The director was in London for the MCM Comic-Con over the weekend to promote The World's End and Collider got the chance to ask him a few questions. He briefly mentions Ant-Man, but more interesting is what he has to say about the possibility of helming a Star Wars flick..
Edgar Wright is a big Star Wars fan, so with his profile being raised considerably after not only completing his "Cornetto trilogy" with The Wold's End, but signing on to direct Ant-Man for Marvel, many fans were hoping he might take a crack at one of the many new movies said to be coming our way under the Disney umbrella. Unfortunately that doesn't look like it'll be happening, as the director feels he might have taken one too many shots at the prequels in his hilarious tv series, Spaced.
"Any involvement in the new Star Wars projects is highly unlikely, since Wright admits he was perhaps too vicious about the prequel trilogy in Spaced."
Wright doesn't reveal whether this is something that he's heard in any official capacity, or if it's just his gut feeling on the matter, but either way it doesn't seem likely that he'll be bringing his unique style to a galaxy far far away any time soon. He was also quizzed about Ant-Man but declined to give anything away..at all! For the highlights in full click the link below.
