Anthony Mackie Talks CAPTAIN AMERICA: TWS; New Details On 'The Falcon'
We've seen him in multiple set snaps recently, and now while chatting to Entertainment Weekly about his career so far and upcoming role in Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Mackie reveals a few more tidbits about his character Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon.
Entertainment Weekly has posted a very interesting interview with Anthony Mackie, that no fan of the actor should miss. In it the site confirm that this movie incarnation of his character, The Falcon, is indeed an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., adding that although he'll be a peer of Black Widow (Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), “his sense of duty makes him less cynical and closer to the salute-the-flag sensibility of [Steve] Rogers.” Mackie also explains to the site that his take on Falcon is “a really smart guy who went through major military training and becomes a tactical leader, he’s not some guy that fell into this.” The comic version of Sam Wilson has always been a loyal friend to Steve Rogers, implacable in his sense of honor and duty, and it seems that will definitely carry over to this big-screen version. “The most important thing I got from everybody at Marvel about the Falcon was the need to show that he’s a very righteous, man-forward kind of guy. He would do anything to protect the man next to him and to protect his country. That’s the integrity of the character and the integrity of the man and that that’s what I have focused on.” More from Mackie at the link below.
