While in a remote part of Africa exploring a mineral cache in a mysterious cave, entrepreneur JOHN GREYSTOKE and his wife ALICE are killed in a tragic helicopter crash, leaving their three-year-old JOHN, JR. to fend for himself. Rescued by KALA, a gentle ape, the traumatized child is brought up by a band of mountain gorillas as one of their own, learning the ways of the wild as he grows into a strong and indepdendent young man known as TARZAN. At 14, Tarzan first encounters another human: JANE PORTER, a pretty and intrepid teen visiting Africa with her naturalist father. His contact with a creature so like himself leaves him unsettled and yearning for more. The gorilla tribe’s longtime leader dies and is succeeded by a brutal silverback named TUBLAT, who settles an old score by driving Tarzan out of the group. As Tarzan wanders alone, he stumbles on the wreckage of the helicopter, where he unknowingly triggers a signal to his late father’s company. CLAYTON, a ruthlessly ambitious executive at Greystoke Industries, hires Jane and her father with a greedy scheme that will destroy the entire ecosystem. Jane, hoping to derail the plan, reconnects with Tarzan and becomes a target for both Clayton and Tublat. Facing deadly challenges from man and beast, Tarzan must use his jungle intuition and his human intellect to save his home and the woman he loves. A spectacular animated safari into a vibrant and exotic landscape, TARZAN 3D is a gorgeously rendered, action-packed journey through a magnificently imagined world.

Tarzan 3D will be released in Germany on October 10, but there is no set US release date as of yet. The movie was directed by Reinhard Klooss from a script by Klooss, Jessica Postigo and Yoni Brenner.

Animation looks great, but the story is much too reminiscent of the Disney film. Either way, were this to be released in English i might just see it. I'd love to see a live action Tarzan though. With MoCapped Apes a-la Rise Of THe Apes.

huh, interesting, looks like they are modernizing it a bit. That's pretty cool. Will be interesting to see how that plays out. I hope it can bring something new to the table as well. This is the reason i like when remakes or re-adaptations change things. Then it makes it fresh and new and fun.

Will still prefer the Disney film, I remember going to see that the day it was released and loving it plus the teaser poster was amazing (the vines and twisting tree's then Tarzan in the distance)

Bad animation.Terrible idea modernising it and making John Clayton older at the point of becoming an orphan. It simply looks bad.

Well they don't even try to be loyal to the source material, that's for sure. To me this looks just like an updated version of the disney-classic.

Big ass kid running around playing and speaking normally, hits the jungle and turns into a tard?

If he wasn't introducing himself caveman style before he got lost, it's highly unlikely that he would after aging a few years.

Should've done alive action one that was darker and grittier with all the apes mocapped Rise of the Planet of the Apes style.

Johnny Weismuller will forever be the greatest Tarzan known to Hollywood. There will never be a longer run of sequels in any Tarzan franchise.

I thought that we were going to get a live-action Tarzan movie - What the hell happened to that? *unfortunate*

Would prefer this to be set back the time period the chracters were created. I just have a hard time buying that no one has found him all those years he was missing. I guess I don't mind the apes finding at the age they do even though he was a baby when they found him in the books.

Wish someone would at least put some subtitles on the trailer.

Copies too much Disney´s Tarzan.

Bring on Tarzan film where he already knows Jane and his Greystoke name and make him fight against fortune seekers, smugglers, Queen La and his Leopard Men, Dinosaurs and other mysteries and threats of the Jungle.
