Stephen Dorff To Star In "Blade" Spin-Off Prequel?

Apparently Dorff is itching to get his vamp on again...
This came out of nowhere! According to firstshowing.net, Stephen Dorff is gearing up to star in a movie(or series of movies) set before the events of "Blade" and featuring his character from that first movie, Deacon Frost, with Stephen Norrington returning to direct..

"It will be a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon's story. It's a new trilogy the director has created. It will [be] cool," Dorff explained. "We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake."

It seems as if Dorff is eager to return to the Vampire/horror genre after the success of "Twishite" and the "Underworld" movies, although he also states..

"I would rather be in a good, small film than a hit which wasn't any good,"

Norrington has not directed a picture since the disastrous "League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen", but he is showing signs of life agin with this as well as his proposed "Crow" reboot/make/imagining!

Personally i thought the first Blade was a decent film, easily bettered by Guillermo Del Toro's s sequel however. I remember Dorff being a pretty good villain, but does anyone really want to see these movies? Especially without Blade himself in them!

first!!! aaaahahahaha!
cman555 - 7/6/2009, 8:37 PM
guess no one really gives a shit about this? personally i liked dorf and the first blade and i agree it all went down hill from there.
cman555 - 7/6/2009, 8:38 PM
Does this mean I'm second?
BmanHall - 7/6/2009, 8:58 PM
I probly wouldn't watch this... There's too many vampire flicks these days, and the only way I could watch another one is if blade is in it killing them
Evil1991 - 7/6/2009, 8:58 PM
The back story of the vampires in the Marvel Universe is actually pretty interesting. Unfortunately I doubt we'll see much of it even if this gets made.
alten2345 - 7/6/2009, 8:59 PM
Maybe it's just me but I did not like any of the Blade movies...so to me a spin off of that would be like a Jessica Alba spin off of the Fantastic Four.
harrisonefreeman - 7/6/2009, 9:09 PM
no blade no interest
tyko450 - 7/6/2009, 9:33 PM
I feel like taking a dump! Is that news or should I wait for something worthy cause Blade without Blade makes no sense.
starscream4president - 7/6/2009, 9:46 PM
God I hope not. Making a Trilogy from a Villain in ONE Blade movie? Deacon Frost isn't even a blip on the map in the Blade comics. What the hell makes them think that this is gonna work?
iNsaneMilesy - 7/6/2009, 9:49 PM
I DUNNO, MAYBE SEE A YOUNG WHISTLER?, I DUNNO...BLADE IS THE MAN SNIPES OUT OF PRISON YET? WHEN HE GETS FREE HE HAS TO MAKE SOME MORE BLADE MOVIES OR MAYBE THE BLACK PANTHER...
GUNSMITH - 7/6/2009, 9:51 PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So am I the only one that is happy about this, I mean if it turns out well, Frost was the coolest character in all the blade movies.
@ Yohon Kalic
i agree with you.
sadmamba - 7/6/2009, 10:09 PM
I agree completely, I like Dorff / Deacon Frost, and Norrington, but any Blade spino-off without Blade won't work. I blame all of this rubbish on f'ing goyer. Egotistical prick. If he hadn't made his little power move with Blade Trinity and tried to limit Blade's role in his own bloody flick and subjected us to his pathetic attempt at directing, then Trinity would've been successful and we would've had a part 4.
Cheesey1 - 7/6/2009, 10:11 PM
Although, I did like the reavers in part two a lot and thought that Del Toro did a fantastic job.
Cheesey1 - 7/6/2009, 10:13 PM
A Blade movie without Blade? I'm still pissed about Blade not really being in his own T.V. show. Frost was a cool villian, but I doubt he can carry a movie on his own, much less three of them.
Shadowelfz - 7/6/2009, 10:21 PM
wolverine81 - 7/6/2009, 11:07 PM
League of Extroardinary Gnetlemen was fucxking awesome! why does everyone keep saying it sucks, i can't find 1 reason why someone might say it sucks
lilej2 - 7/6/2009, 11:07 PM
Why? that's all am asking...
kidz3r0 - 7/6/2009, 11:14 PM
@lilej2 I saw the movie before i read the graphic novel of The League. And i thought the film was freaking awesome. But if you compare it to the novel it realy doesn't add up that well, sadly.
Spilox - 7/6/2009, 11:31 PM
What's the point of this even happening.
Bandrews1 - 7/6/2009, 11:41 PM
I thought it was agreed the world over that League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a terrible movie. I'm begrudgingly impressed that someone admits, not only to linking it, but calling it 'awesome' I'm not trying to sound patronizing here, seriously no offense. Maybe I'll watch it again...probably not, but maybe...
harrisonefreeman - 7/7/2009, 12:40 AM
pssh... i'll go see it..
Pockets713 - 7/7/2009, 1:17 AM
Dorf is the man...loved SFW
teabag - 7/7/2009, 1:28 AM
first off, Dorf was amazing in SFW and Backbeat! and yes there have been a lot of vampire movie coming out lately. but is it really that much more than recent years? the only difference is that the vampire movies coming out now are making money and are not just horror movies...WHENS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A MOVIE WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTER WASN'T ONLY A VAMPIRE BUT A TRULY EVIL VAMPIRE! this could do that.
I liked the 2nd Blade movie the most but as far as just characters go Dorff was the best villian. The character was REALLY F-ING EVIL and had a really believable goal. This could work
gestlmutant - 7/7/2009, 2:57 AM
gestlmutant@ i hear ya buddy...we need baddass kill you without thinking vampires so im up for this........................or we could all just settle with Twilight.................uuuhhh shudder
NUFF SAID :)
teabag - 7/7/2009, 3:57 AM
10THTIGER-ITS FOX,THEY HAVE A CONTRACT ON MARVEL TO BASICALLY DO WITH ANY AND ALL XMEN CHARACTERS AS THEY PLEASE.
GUNSMITH - 7/7/2009, 4:54 AM
10THTIGER......your post gave me a headach with all the bold font but i see your point:P
teabag - 7/7/2009, 5:04 AM
Dorf was awesome in Blade. This could be a good movie, providing the execute it right, and not make it some "interview with a vampire" tripe.
TheJester - 7/7/2009, 5:17 AM
shoot this should be interesting. hopefully there's ah marvel crossover... i love it when they do that.
video prototype - 7/7/2009, 5:45 AM
idk if anybody is gonna read this...but what the hey... anyways just wondering if you guys can help me out on finding a really good instrumental for a DC tribute... hopefully 8 to 9 minutes long. i'm still looking myself. something orchestra with ah rock band feel. idk what exactly what's that called. anyways...if you guys can.. that would be great. if any of you guys wanna keep in touch by e-mail, mines prototypevideo@hotmail.com thanks again.
p.s. i'm gonna copy and paste this to another article just in case nobody reads this..heh heh
video prototype - 7/7/2009, 5:47 AM
Dorf rules! I still liked his peformance from The Gate (classic 80's horror flick). If Blade is not in this, then hopefully we can get some other Marvel supernatural heroes and villains some screen time. Blade 1 and 2 were awesome. Blade 3 doesn't exist in my book. AWFUL! Don't know how you can have a film called Blade and he is hardly in the film.
icebergslick - 7/7/2009, 5:50 AM
I love the Gate
teabag - 7/7/2009, 5:52 AM
@ lilej2
League sucked for the same reasons most of these non-marvel made movies suck...it was nothing like the book what so ever! the book was very dark, and disturbing. all you need to know is that in the book, mr hyde killed the invisible man and fed him to the other leaguers in a salad. everyone ate him because they couldn't see his pieces. why did he do this?? because the invisible man tried to rape Mina Harker. does that sound like the tone they captured in the movie?? yeah, thats why it sucked...
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 5:57 AM
Oh i dont know Corndog...after i watched the League i felt raped
teabag - 7/7/2009, 6:00 AM
when 'hasn't' there been vampire movies that were coming out?
Also...I think tis would be an excellent idea if they would let marvel run with it. I think a marvel's monsters would be awesome. But I know they will never have Man-Thing or Werewolf by night in these movies, much less Morbius or Ghost Rider.
Jojo Risin - 7/7/2009, 6:05 AM
Dorf was awesome in the gate...clasci movies...(Gate II: not so much)
Jojo Risin - 7/7/2009, 6:06 AM
@ teabag yeah, me too man. it was one of the biggest comic book movie travesties ever. no sequel should explain volumes.
@ mr jojo morbius is actually rumored to be the spidey 4 villain, but who knows. also, a werewolf by night movie would be awesome!!!!!!!!! they made a horrible sci-fi channel original Man-Thing movie, but i think that speaks for itself lol and do i need to even mention ghost rider??
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 6:09 AM
Im still running with my idea for a Marvel CHillers tv show.And check out Fan Fic for my idea for a Werewolf By Night series :P
teabag - 7/7/2009, 6:22 AM
I'm sick of vampires!
longbowhunter - 7/7/2009, 6:25 AM
Im sick of Smallville
teabag - 7/7/2009, 6:27 AM
@ teabag
that's a REALLY good idea! are you thinking like a tales from the crypt kinda thing?? they could do recurring characters like werewolf by night, morbius, even some original characters, but each episode is its own story. they could even call it Dead of Night. i like it man, good idea!
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 6:59 AM
First and fore most, The first Blade was by far the very best vampire movie ever made but also the best of it's franchise. Blade 2 was very good but Del Toro made it a little bit too sci-fi instead of using gothic vampire lore like Norrington used. So as for "comic book" movies go, the second was the winner but in an all out vampire movie comparison, the first takes the cake!!!
Decan Frost was the best villain we ever got... EVER!!! It doesn't matter which one you name, they all fall short next to Dorf's. And honestly, how the [frick] could anybody bitch about this news??? "I don't want to see a Blade movie without Blade..." IT'S NOT A BLADE MOVIE!!! They say it's a prequel because Frost died in Blade so NATURALLY if they wanna keep the same character, logic would indicate that the upcoming movies would be "prequels" to Blade... DUUUUUUUUH!!! And furthermore, because of the fact that Frost was NEVER in the Blade comics, THERE'S EVEN LESS REASON TO BITCH!!! They are NOT [frick]ing ANYTHING over!!! They're simply using an UTTERLY AWESOME character FROM the Blade films in his own series!!! WHERE THE FLYING [frick] IS THE PROBLEM, HONESTLY?!?!?!?!?!?!
I for one am a die hard vampire movie fan and i couldn't believe of the travesty that was Twitlite!!! That movie was a disgrace to all vampire movies ever made!!! Now you're getting a director that succeeded at being probably the very best vampire film director EVER in [frick]ing HISTORY, that will ACCURATELY make a series of ground breaking vampire films with a character that is already proven to KICK MAJOR [frick]ING ASS!!! WHAT THE [frick] MORE DO YOU WANT?!?!?!?!?! I mean if you don't like vampire movies to begin with, i could understand. This article is news on a vampire film about a character that was used in a comic book movie!!! IT'S ACTUALLY GREAT [frick]ING NEWS TO ANY VAMPIRE FILM FAN!!!!
The way this article was written pushed some of us to hate this idea though. I mean Roar, i like you, i really really do. But you gotta admit that you enjoyed the first Blade as much as anyone here and that the best part of that film WAS Frost. You can shit on Twilight with every reason in the world but that shitty movie should never be concidered to represent the vampire films as much as the Blade and Underworld movies. Having written it more positively, most people here would rejoyce i'm sure. Honestly i would have thought an Irishman of all people would have prefered "The glass being half FULL" LMFAO!!! :))
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 7:00 AM
video prototype - 7/7/2009, 7:07 AM
Shaman Frost was a character in Tombe of Dracula where Blade was introduced....He was a vampire that killed Blades Mum like in the Movie except he didnt become half vampire. but he also created Hannibal King...they ganged up to kill Frost!! but anyway i would love this to happen and the first was the best
teabag - 7/7/2009, 7:14 AM
Yeah but see, thats just..like..your opinion maaan!
I liked Blade..but best vampire movie ever made? Not by a long shot! The movie had some great fight scenes, interesting characters and solid performances. It also had awful script moments, some of the biggest horror movie cliches i have ever seen and Stephen Dorff turning into a giant raspberry at the end.
I think these movies are being made first and foremost just to cash in on the vampire hollywood craze with a character that was good..but what makes him so great in your eyes? He was an eeeevil, ruthless vampire, played with Dorffs usual intensity. But what else? He barley had 2 dimensions. I would rather see a spin off fo David from the Lost Boys or the nomads from Near Dark myself. But, if you feel so strongly about it then im sure many others will too.
Also, im not pushing anyone to hate anything! In my opinion, and many others, this is a waste of time when they could be either trying to revive the Blade franchise or move on with some more horror comic adaptations. Im not saying these movies would automatically suck, just that using a minor character from a movie over 10 years old that already spawned 2 sequels without him even in them, seems like a bad idea to me. You yourself have been adamant that you dont want to see a Magneto prequel, so whats the difference here?
RorMachine - 7/7/2009, 7:16 AM
i was gonna say, frost was most definately in the comics. and he was a total badass. maybe not an actual BLADE comic, but he was in the comics.
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 7:18 AM
i think saying blade is better than interview with the vampire or bram stokers dracula might be going a little too far. i did love the first blade movie, but it can't come close to those in my opinion
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 7:19 AM
Not even in the same ballpark as those 2..or these
Near Dark
The Lost Boys
Chronos(also Del Toro)
Let The Right One In
Martin
RorMachine - 7/7/2009, 7:23 AM
Frost had this dumbass power to make an evil vampire duplicate of people.....he was better in the movie
Oh and i love 30 days of night
teabag - 7/7/2009, 7:24 AM
Teabag- Oh...well... i haven't read tomb of dracula LOL I was going on a comment that said Frost wasn't from the comics LOLOL Yea, that back fired :P And since i don't like the "mindless" concept of Zombies, i didn't like what they did to Vampires in 30 days of night.
Roar- LOL :P Good point, it is simply my opinion :P And you're right, the movie did have weak points in them but i mean... what vampire film you know doesn't LOL :P That raspberry scene at the end was really bad CGI. But the fight scenes were amazing as vampire/comic book films go. IMO again LOL, they were better than in the second. The whole "dog lights or god lights or whatever the name of those spots were" scene sucked ass in Del Toro's Blade.
Of course these movies are being made to cash in... which ones don't??? But The Vampire cash cow has always existed. It was just "re-imaged" to the younger croud recently buy the movie that shal not be named. A few years back Blade did the very same thing!!! The Vampire lore was what originally sold Blade's concept to begin with. If Snipes had been just a daywalking vampire that went around town stopping bank robbers, it would have sucked ass!!! So there's honestly no problem with making great vampire films for us fans to enjoy.
And of course Frost had the "usual" Dorf intensity but what other Dorf performance would you say ...fitted best with that intensity? Honestly, i think Frost is Dorf's best character ever. He was bydimentionnal cause... it wasn't really his movie. He wasn't THAT much in the spotlight to begin with so they didn't really develop his character that well. They did have a few scenes with him and Dragonetty that gave a glimpse of more dimentions in his character but not much more. These up comming movies will give them a chance to do exactly that. So IMO, it's a win win situation.
And a David and Micheal spin off starring Keifer Sutherland and Jason Patrick would also kick ass :)) A lot more than that shitty sequel "The Tribe" they made... god, acting, as it turns out, isn't part of the Sutherland gene as much as they originally thought. ANGUS SUCKED ASS!!!! Oh and speaking of Vampire films, I'm looking forward to Daybreakers being the movie that gives glory back to the undead after that sacrilegious piece of flamin shite that caught on to the younger generation lately. Aside from Lostboys, i haven't seen the others you mentionned Roar. I love vampire films but i haven't seen EVERY one of them LOL :P
CorndogBurglar- I enjoyed both "Lestat" films but they weren't as much of a thrill endusing ride as was the Blade films. And i'd agree with you about Bram's Dracula if it weren't for Keanu Reeve's god awfull performance. Ryder wasn't all that good either. If it weren't for Oldman and Hopkins, that movie wouldn't have been much of a reference.
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 7:32 AM
disastrous League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen?!?!?! LOEG was the best comic book movie that was released to that date. I hope they make the second one soon!
owen - 7/7/2009, 7:35 AM
Owen@ nice one ..your funny
teabag - 7/7/2009, 7:40 AM
Well, maybe i should watch it again. It has been years. Ill watch it again soon and if i enjoy Frost more than i expected ill edit the article..deal?;)
owen, look i can't please everyone with these articles. Its generally considered(and happens to be my opinion also) that LOEG was a steaming pile of crap. If u liked it, more power to ya! But im just going by the over all reaction to the movie by the critics and the fans..and me!
RorMachine - 7/7/2009, 7:41 AM
Oh Owen.....were you serious....tell them its not true :)
teabag - 7/7/2009, 7:43 AM
LMAO, you don't "have" to bud, to each's own :) But i know that deep down, what fuelled your intent in your writing was Twishit LOL It was obvious and god knows i'm on the same page as you are with it LOL Boy, am i ever!!! :P But it's all good. You really should watch the first Blade again but just to enjoy the ride :)) Oh... i just read your "magneto" comment you added LOL :P Well the difference for me is that... magneto himself is a cool character but we already know where he's been, what he's done and well, it doesn't leave much room for imagination and could create many continuity problems. In Frost's case, we pretty much know nothing of him aside from being the one that changed Blade's mother. So there's a lot of room there! Also, they could use his story from that comic i haven't read and incorporate it with Drake (Dominic Purcell) from Trinity... that be kinda cool right? ...right? :)
LOEG did suck... :P But if you are serious Owen, i have my own little fan fic about a Brand New League synopsis that i enjoyed writing. Here's the link:
VAN HELS.........sorry i couldnt finish that without giggling :P
teabag - 7/7/2009, 7:56 AM
Giggling... or throwing up??? :P
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 7:59 AM
Well i think its a great idea!!!
Will give the BLADE franchise the kick up the A$$ it needs!
Great news ROR!!! ; )
Though SNIPES needs a small part atleast!
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 8:01 AM
The Drac in Trinity is not the Drac of the Marvel universe but i see where your going Shaman
teabag - 7/7/2009, 8:01 AM
...and i feel giggling whilst throwing up gives the same reaction i had with Van Helsing :)
teabag - 7/7/2009, 8:03 AM
Love tha pic @ TEA lol!!!!
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 8:04 AM
@ owen
do you really think league was better than keaton and nicholson's 1988 batman?? or the first spiderman?
@shaman
interview is one of my favorite movies, so of course i think of that as one of the best vampire movies!
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 8:08 AM
jesus. lot's of posts here.
I don't mind the idea of Frost coming back, personally he was a pretty good villian and his backstory looked like it left room for him to become some sort of anti-hero etc with him having been human before.
and League was a decent movie. people need to suck it.
Keven - 7/7/2009, 8:19 AM
Hey, it'll be a hundred times better than that UNDERWORLD prequel i had to sit through!!! ; D
Someone lied to be, KATE BECKINGSALE wasn't in it lol!
I liked THE LEAGUE! ; )
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 8:25 AM
VAN HELSING had its moments too! (Mainly tasty chics lol). But what did that crap TWILIGHT have, an they've done a friggin' sequel too WTF????? : D
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 8:28 AM
Who's up for a NIGHTSTALKERS movie???? Heh heh.
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 8:30 AM
i'd watch the nightstalkers
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 8:33 AM
i'm actually kind of surprised they didn't go that route LEEE
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 8:34 AM
Ok movies about villians r stupid, no to magneto and no to frost. They should make a blade 4 or nothiong at all. I mean who cares? And when was Sphen Dorff in Underworld I saw them over the weekend and he wasen't in them.
Logan-X - 7/7/2009, 8:36 AM
Who said Dorf was in underworld????
Interview was ok but there was just something sbout it...........
teabag - 7/7/2009, 8:58 AM
I didn't say DORF was in UNDERWORLD lol! : D
Corndog @ Yeah, id watch NIGHTSTALKERS too, that was their plan to do a spin off of that but i think it fell through when BLADE TRINITY got such a bad rap! An i don't know why it did, i liked it lol! ; )
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 9:02 AM
I can't see these 3 movies having any success. Do one really good one that kind of shows the orgin of Frost, the creation of Blade(small part) and then use it to kick off the night stalkers and just come out with a night stalkers film after that, that leads into blade trinity. I think the best bet is to try and have some kind of continuity with the blade series. But still a 3 movie spin off from a villan in one movie is a bit much.
Gweedo - 7/7/2009, 9:03 AM
BLADE 4 = BLADE on his own, say against then teaming up with MORBUIS against even a bigger threat, would be cool!
Gweedo @ Nice idea! ; )
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 9:05 AM
LEEEE there was nothing wrong with Trinity......apart from the non action, the bored look on Wesley's face...the fact you could tell mr snips was there to pay some taxes....or the worst Dracula ever on screen.................yeh it was ok....Wolverine was better tho:O
teabag - 7/7/2009, 9:08 AM
This sounds absolutely retarded. Kill this franchise, Blade is done and over with. I could care less about Frost, the first was cool mainly because it was new, the second by far is the best of the trilogy in my opinion.
Screw this crap. If anything just make a new Blade vs. Morbius, that would be tight, or somehow introduce the Midnight Sons, if possible.
Stumblin - 7/7/2009, 9:11 AM
lol wolverine was not better, tea. not that blade 3 was fantastic or anything, but wolvie was god awful. and yes, it was the worst version of dracula in history...or was it Dagon? lol
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 9:13 AM
The thing i hated about Trinity is that i find it difficult to watch....its toooo boring and as for the second the crappy CGI fighting just made it comical not thrilling
teabag - 7/7/2009, 9:15 AM
my problem with the blade movies is that they fought the vampire god in the first one. nothing else should have been a threat compared to that, not even "dracula"
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 9:15 AM
I am biased towards Trinity cause Ryan Reynolds is one sexy piece of man meat in that movie. But it did seem like Snipes was like "WTF am I doing?".
Gweedo - 7/7/2009, 9:19 AM
Reynolds was ok but they [frick]ed his character up too much.....he's supposed to be a baddass vampire p.i...and frost made him
teabag - 7/7/2009, 9:27 AM
@teabag
and he was one of the nightstalkers, but he was still a full on vamp at the time
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 9:38 AM
I hear what your saying, Shaman, but I still dont think its a good idea. Frost was a great villain, but I didn't see anything about him that made him stand out above other movie villains. Having his own comic I can see, shit maybe even an animated short or something, but a whole movie? I dont know about that one.
I can agree with you wholeheartedly on one thing... Twilight is absolute garbage! Gawd! I love vampires and vampire movies, but that just ruined it for me. Sparkling vampires? Seriously?
Shadowelfz - 7/7/2009, 9:38 AM
Reynolds was a huge problem along with Goyer directing. HHH should have never been in it and vampire dogs??? Didn't they learn anything from the Hulk dogs??? Even Parker Posey's performance was god awful. Trinity was shit on a stick!!! When the main actor doesn't even seem to give a [frick]... the ship didn't even have a chance to float to begin with. When Goyer put that movie out, he looked like Stewart in Mad TV saying "Look what i can do"! But Dominic was still pretty decent in it. The worst Dracula award IMO goes to Van Helsing. If it wasn't for the CGI'd bat form he had, he would have been the most idiotic panzy to ever protray Dracula on the big screen. Wait... he still is. I'm not going anywhere near a Nightstalkers movie if they keep the same crew.
CorndogBurglar- I did enjoy Interview very much. Good poster Teabag LOL :P LEEE, IMO Rhona Mitra's better than Beckinsale. Not sexier.. but better in action roles.
Shadowelfz- Yeah... what a disgrace that waste of life of a movie was!!! Goddamn!!! At least if they had oh i dunno... ANYBODY other than Emy Fart Face Rosum as a lead... it could have been decent... uuhh... no, it couldn't. That movie was doomed from the moment the writer ...thought! Oh and LEEE... get ready for three sequels to that turd.
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 9:42 AM
twilight was a chick flick though, it shouldn't be thought of as anything but that. it was a vampire movie for the women. it shouldn't even register on our nerdy radars
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 9:53 AM
LOLOLOL
@ Shaman
"Emy Fart Face Rosum"
LOLOLOLOL
CorndogBurglar - 7/7/2009, 9:55 AM
SHAMAN-
Well in all fairness, the main actor (Wesley Snipes) tried to walk from that movie because of the script. However his contract was binding for the 3rd film (unfortunately he didn't have one of those awesome Ed Norton contracts).
You know it's bad when WESLEY SNIPES walks because of the script! If i was the director the fact that EVEN WESLEY SNIPES thinks the script is THAT bad would have at least made me give it a re-read, lol.
Talontd - 7/7/2009, 10:00 AM
Talontd/shaman/corndog......HELL YEAH
teabag - 7/7/2009, 10:04 AM
I know women that would litterally chug a galon of fuel to piss on the twilight dvd and light it on fire!!! And yeah "fart face" is from the look she ALWAYS [frick]ING HAS as an expression. She looks exactly like she just farted, smelled it, and felt it smelled weird. All through out the 2 [frick]ing hours!!!
Oh and Roar, i'd love to see this guy as an evil vampire some day:
Angus MacFadyen
I loved him in Warriors of Virtue(his best performance ever), Braveheart and Equilibrium!!! But he is kinda short isn't he??? Like 4'8" or somethin??? LOL :P
Talontd- Too true my friend, too true!!!
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 10:04 AM
WOLVIE BORIGINS @ Paid his Taxes with WARNER BROS $$$!!! ; D
EQUILIBRIUM! Now that's a movie!!! ; )
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 10:05 AM
4 foot 8? lol.
oh god. that's good stuff.
Equilibrium is awesome.
Keven - 7/7/2009, 10:14 AM
Yes... yes it was :)
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 10:14 AM
Shaman just read your van helsing drac bit....at least as awful as it was you knew a little bit about him as camp as he was.....in trinity all you got from drac was he likes to dress like the village people and has an open sore on his face
teabag - 7/7/2009, 10:22 AM
Yeah i loved Equilibrium. That scene with the puppies really got to me!
Shaman, my friends dad went to college with Angus MacFadyen! Iv never met him but..there you go!
RorMachine - 7/7/2009, 10:23 AM
Ummmmm... not excited about a trilogy of Mr. Dorf. Frost was a pretty cool character, but what are they going to do get 3 movies out of him?
Kajun - 7/7/2009, 10:30 AM
Heyyyy, ive just been told SNIPES is in prison??? I thought he wormed his way outta that thing ages ago??? : /
Damn, no wonder no talk on BLADE 4 then lol, or was i told BS??
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 10:43 AM
SHAMAN @ I forgot to say , 3 Sequels to that turd??? How, why????
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 10:44 AM
Teabag- Yeah, good point. Forgot about that. They seriously needed to switch em up. That way Trinity would go beyong "epic faillure" and reach the "utter failiure" level. Van Helsing would have been a tad better.
Roar- I KNEW IT!!!! It's why i directed it to you LOL :P I figured the world was small enough that you'd tie in with him some way or another LOL :P AMAZING actor... can you confirm his height??? I'm worried about him LOL. Did you ever get to see him in Warriors of Virtue??? The movie was good family fun. Think of TMNT but even more for children. Angus was just amazing and that chinese guy from Big Trouble in Little China that played Kurt Russel's side kick was in it too :)) the kung fu scenes are way too fuzzy though.
LEEE- Yeah he's in prison for tax evasion all right. He might win the title of undisputed while he's in there LOL :P Go easy on him Ving :P
And yes... three more sequels to go... and that's just IF that shitty as hell writer doesn't decide to continue the new brain fart she's on!!! She actually started to re-write THE SAME [frick]ING book "twilight"... but this time, in another character's point of view. As if this time around, it was Edward's take on the story... sounds cool but it ISN'T!!!
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 10:44 AM
Oh yeah, NEAR DARK! Now that's a great Vamp movie!!! ; )
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 10:45 AM
Oh and LESBIAN HUNTER VAMPIRE KILLERS! ; D
LEEE777 - 7/7/2009, 10:46 AM
"LESBIAN HUNTER VAMPIRE KILLERS!"
I wanna see that AND trailor trash horrors thingy...
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 10:49 AM
Dont you Mean Lesbian Vampire Killers?
Anyway "Legend of the 7 golden vampires" the 1st Kung Fu Vampire film...classic
teabag - 7/7/2009, 11:14 AM
Small part for Snipes? Isn't he in Jail?
Seriously, Calling Blade a horror movie or even benchmarking it to other Horror movies is a gave mistake.
The first Blade is an outstanding movie. It was a "unique" Vampire movie.
One word. Bloodbath...
That whole set up to and the scene by far is one of my favorites of all times.
Del Toro's Blade was missing something....good acting.
For the record:
Interview With the Vampire was not only a shitty movie, the book was an even bigger steaming pile of goth kid shite. Lets not even talk about Queen of the Dammed shall we? The only thing good in that movie was me busting my fly staring at Aaliya, and so wanting her to chomp down on my meat train and take it all the way to orgasm town. CHOOOOOOOOO CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
30 Days of Night: Making vampires feral rather than some emo sparkling sex pot? I say go for it. It's something differnet than the standard "vampire movies"
What about Grace Jones in Vamp?
Some of my favorites are (and surprised many of these have yet to be mentioned:
Stokers Dracula
Dracula (Bela Lugossi!!!)
Lost Boy's
Hunger
Nosferatu
Shadow of the Vampire
Salem's Lot
Blade
Dusk Till Dawn
Prince of Darkness (Christopher Lee!!!!!)
Underworld (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)
Plus the many flicks of the 60's and 70's...mmmmmm gratuitous boobies, some of the earliest pr0n for a young teenage boy lookin for a quick fap session.
TheJester - 7/7/2009, 11:18 AM
God loves Hammer Horror......its fact
teabag - 7/7/2009, 11:27 AM
meh, i was never a huge fan of the Blade film (especially after the cameo by Triple H of all people in Trinity) i cant see who would want to really see this film anyway especially if Blade wont be in it!
JoshW - 7/7/2009, 11:44 AM
I LOVED BLADE ONE. The second wasnt in keeping with the first imho. too contemporary for lack of a better word. Iliked Dorf, he played a good villian and deserves to be brought back in however way they can bring him back.
BTW ROr: offtopic I know Im sorry but on your suggestion i have FINALLY got the CLash of the Titans!! I couldnt rent it... no one seemed to have it.. and I was bummed cuz everyone was talking about it and saying I needed to see it... and one day... tada! it ws there in the store by chance and I bought it!(last one too!) I HOPE ITS GOOD AND WORTH THE TROUBLE !!! I been looking for it since the first article you posted about the remake being made. It was only $10 so no biggie but ya know I hope its good like you say those 2 hrs! ;P lol...
KeepItReal - 7/7/2009, 11:51 AM
Clash of the Titans....classic
teabag - 7/7/2009, 11:53 AM
haha, well KIR, i havnt seen it in many years, so be prepared for the special effects to be very dateed, but im sure youl still enjoy it.
RorMachine - 7/7/2009, 11:55 AM
They need to make films for Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, and other characters that we actually want to see in a solo movie.
Superman4
Superman4 - 7/7/2009, 11:57 AM
Deadpool for Captain America!
Superman4
Superman4 - 7/7/2009, 11:57 AM
They need to do a Blade movie where Blade kills the Twilight Vampires. Edward "Are you ready to be blinded by my shiny gay skin?" Blade "I was born ready mother f**ker" (slices Edward in half).
Superman4
Superman4 - 7/7/2009, 12:00 PM
dorf was the best villian i had ever seen when i first saw blade he was just ruthless and in control of everythin thats the first time i liked a villian more than the hero....and screw goin with the anti-hero bullshit i wanna see an evil villian throughout the whole movie yes he can have more dimensions to his character but he should stay evil none the less its so cliche to have the bad guy lose everytime and have big [frick]in speeches about his masterplan and whatnot why cant it work with a villian killin the hero and succeedin in his goal and for all the people that say theyre doin this just for money if hes such a minor character that no one gives a shit about then how are they gonna make money maybe they wanna do it so they can make a good movie of course they wanna get paid for their work but thats not the sole reason 3 movies i dont know about that but if the first one is good then why not as long as it doesnt turn into some piece of shit then go for it also dorf was the first vamp to not look like a total fudge packer besides blade & dracula(not from trinity even though i liked the character still looked a little suspect lol)
SabretoothTiger - 7/7/2009, 12:12 PM
Superman4- Good line Superman4 :))
TheJester- The Hunger was worth seeing just for Susan Sarandon's TITS!!! Epic... like... Jamie lee Curtis Epic :)) No matter how old she gets, i still wanted to pork her in Speed Racer!!!
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 12:38 PM
Teabag you really seem to know the comics Blade universe as well as I do. I think one of the things that pissed me off so much is the fact that they began changing the characters around so much to make the movies "edgy." In Trinity they called Dracula Drake based on the character Frank Drake from the comics, who was actually Dracula's son, was not a vampire, and was a good guy.
I mean these weren't horror films, and it's a stretch to even include them in the category of "vampire films." I know some of you are gonna be like "how can you say that when there are vampires in it?" I just mean in the traditional sense. That's the problem with what Hollywood tries to do with vampire films these days. The powers that be try to make them, edgy, sexy (don't confuse this with the sexual allure that has been a mainstay of vampire films), or any one of 1000 other adjectives that should never describe vampire movies.
At the end of the day Blade was a sci-fi/action/comic book movie that just happened to have vampires as the antagonists.
Here are some images of some of the characters from the comics as they've appeared over the years. I wouldn't mind seeing a Blade or vampire hunter movie made in the context of these characters as they existed in the comics and the mythos that was created around them.
NightStalkers: Blade, Hannibal King, Frank Drake
Deacon Frost
Hannibal King
Varnae: Atlantean sorcerer who was transformed into the world's first vampire by the Darkholders via the Darkhold, a book of black magic made by the elder god Cthon.
alten2345 - 7/7/2009, 12:46 PM
[frick]ing stupid idea.
TheDurkinKnight - 7/7/2009, 12:52 PM
alten....im with ya
Blade was only imune to vampire bites , he wasnt half vampire....plus he was a regular guy with a girlfriend and all that until the movies needed as alten put it something sexier......it worked il give ya that, Frost did have a background to work with so i still say it could work
teabag - 7/7/2009, 12:53 PM
alten those are some tight pictures even though the only one that looks like the comics is blade(sometimes) lol and i wouldve loved to see hannibal king(one of the coolest names for a character) as a vampire i might have to go and read the blade comics now seein what they look like they seem like they would be better than the movies
SabretoothTiger - 7/7/2009, 12:59 PM
Frost would be an amazing character to build on. The possibilities are endless and they start with a kick ass character. They can easily go from there. And honeslty, he could still be the villain or one of. He doesn't have to be the main role. It could be done.
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 1:02 PM
sabretooth cus im a stckler for originals...this is how Blade is supposed to look..........
teabag - 7/7/2009, 1:05 PM
Haha yeah Shaman I agree. I think the worst ting about Twilight was the sparkling. I mean, besides the fact that it is lame beyond human comprehension, one of, if not the biggest part of the vampire mystique is the fact that they cannot go out in the sun without dying. Theres a certain tragedy in that, having to live eternity in the shadows, unable to have a normal life, and by turning their deadly curse into 'sparkles' it completely undercuts the whole meaning of thier 'curse.' Its like making a film where everybody loves and accepts Frankenstein, and the wolfman is always in control and beloved by those around them. It ruins the underlying horror and sorrow of being a 'monster,' know what I mean?
Shadowelfz - 7/7/2009, 1:11 PM
hell ya he looks better like that instead of black leather i dont know what it is about it why does every film studio like black leather its not that cool he looks way better like this
SabretoothTiger - 7/7/2009, 1:13 PM
SabretoothTiger- Stop smoking crack.
teabag- As an artist, i can't stand that pic. My eyes can't compute how the handle of that knife is made. Judging by the curb of his hand, the blade shouldn't be pointing that way.
Shadowelfz- EXACTLY!!! So many things that were wrong about that film in the Vampire's point of view. The sparkling of course. When Edward first saw Fart Face, he looked like he wanted to throw up instead of saliving all over the table. Vampires all have an inate capacity for charm and seduction. Edward acted more clumsy than Chris Reeve's Clark. He looked like a total douche. They're skin is supposed to be softer and less consistant than a normal human's. In Twilight it feels as hard as porcelain. The whole baseball playing was soooo stupid, as if Vampires would get a kick out of it. Edawrds character is what... a couple hundred years old??? And he still acts out as if he was a teen. THEY DIDN'T HAVE FANGS!!!!! The fight scene was over within seconds. And am i the only one that noticed the shittiest look ever put on a face in the history of the human race?!?!?! When Edward finally officially hangs out with fart girl, they go to school one morning together in his car. When he gets out, he has this... this atrocity for a grin i have never seen before in my life. I almost threw up!!! Oh and after a couple hundred years... is it even logical for his character to be in high school??? I'm sure the very last thing vampires would want is for someone to keep a reccord of they're existance. So yeah... complete and utter blasphemy!!!
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 1:33 PM
@sabretoothTiger
"alten those are some tight pictures even though the only one that looks like the comics is blade"
The only one that looks like the comics is Blade? What are you talking about? All those pics are the way those characters have been depicted at one time or another.
alten2345 - 7/7/2009, 1:40 PM
not in the movies though thats what i was talkin about my bad alten....and shaman how am i smokin crack
SabretoothTiger - 7/7/2009, 1:43 PM
Saying that chicken george above looks better than this:
Shaman - 7/7/2009, 1:52 PM
@Shaman
Come on man! You know day-glo yellow is the perfect color for skulking in the shadows while you're looking for vamps to stake!
Gotta love the 70's man.
alten2345 - 7/7/2009, 1:55 PM
the one that teabag posted would look better in a movie you call him chicken george just cause he has a little afro when the one you posted has a flat top thats a lot worse lookin in my book and biker boy blade wouldnt be as cool as kickass street blade who looks like he really has lived a normal life and isnt just a killin machine and the green is a little bright but they could make it look good in a movie i.e. the jokers suit in tdk looks a lot better than the comics
SabretoothTiger - 7/7/2009, 1:57 PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

@Shaman

So far the only thing I dont like is that its going to be a prequel, I want to see the future of Deacon Frost and whats going on with him now.

@Ror

Let the right one in sucked lol! Shit Van hellsing was better then that shit fest

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yohon Kalic - 7/7/2009, 2:32 PM
funny i was thinking about blade today and decon frost too.
okat sure he can make a movie about frost but we all now how it will end, blade makes him explode. so why make a movie or series of movie about a character who dies.
shadowboxer - 7/7/2009, 5:16 PM
Well, you know what they say about opinions Yohon! I thought that movie was amazing.
RorMachine - 7/7/2009, 5:51 PM
Why would most movies get made then most characters stories are already out there so why make a movie about a character whose story has been told already its good cause we get to see where he came from not where he's goin hence it bein a prequel I like origin movies(some more than others.....leee777 lol) even though you know where the character ends up in the long run you get to see how they got there
SabretoothTiger - 7/7/2009, 5:59 PM
Ill watch this, dorff was great in blade one and his character was cool, im interested on what they well do
xXkryptoniteXx - 7/7/2009, 6:23 PM
This idea sounds crap no matter what they do with it. Deacon was an awesome bad guy but a solo movie will be a failure. They should do a Superman Returns-type sequel where Blade 4 would be in the same continuity as the trilogy but it would not refer to the original trilogy at all apart from maybe bringing back Deacon Frost or Dracula and Blade could say I thought I killed you and Deacon or Dracula could have a witty reply that would make up for a proper explanation as everybody knows all the awesome characters never truly die. Blade 4 could be recast with new actors and they should get someone who is nearly as awesome as Wesley Snipes (as Wesley Snipes was badass as Blade). Blade Trinity's ending set it up perfectly for a sequel closer to the comics with Blade back on his own again without the Nightstalkers or Whistler (who was never in the comics).
But there should be no reboot! Im sick of reboots
dancingmonkey08 - 7/7/2009, 7:29 PM
this is a dumb idea, blade with no blade is retarded
Osiris - 7/7/2009, 9:58 PM
Haha Shaman your bringing up bad memories ;) Seriously, though, I do have a question for anyone interested: Do people really think Patterson is a pretty boy? I mean, when Twilight came out everybody was saying how the vampire was such a pretty boy and all the women swooned over him, and when I finally saw his picture I thought he was a very average looking bloke. Nothing special at all, yet hes put out to be the sexiest man alive. I just dont see what the big deal is, though of course Im not interested in men so its a null opinion really.
Shadowelfz - 7/7/2009, 11:33 PM
Shaman im something of an artist myself so i see your point with the knife but my point is i hate how Blade has no simalarities to the comics
teabag - 7/8/2009, 1:57 AM
@ Teabag:
then we should form a resistance and storm the gates of WB! (wiki sez New line is a subsidary)
I've got a knife!
A sparkling misshapen chocolate one!
I'll [frick]in' stab someone in the eye with it.
TheJester - 7/8/2009, 5:19 AM
Now Jester we both know its not chocolate and your not gonna stick it someone's eye!!:P
teabag - 7/8/2009, 6:45 AM
Jester- We'll you'll aim for the eye but since it's [frick]ing crooked, you'll hit the ear.
Teabag- But that pic really sucked and i'm glad they didn't stick close to that resemblance. On the other hand, in the first pic that alten posted up (last post), he has a leather jacket and looks somewhat similar to Snipes's Blade. So they actually did stay somewhat close to the comic. At least close enough to not warrant a complaint, don't you find? They just lenghtened his jacket to a trench coat and gave him body armor cause, let's face it, bullets even though not deadly, would slow his ass down.
Shadowelfz- Pattinson was better looking AND was a much better actor in Harry Potter and the goblet of fire. They really smeared shit on him in Twilight.
Osiris- But it wouldn't be a Blade movie to begin with. It's like saying a Nightwing movie without Batman would suck ass... i just don't agree.
shadowboxer- Cause it's a prequel, hense he didn't die yet. Blade will eventually die too. Why make a Blade movie then???
Yohon- I'd love to see Frost's future, if he had one. Since he pretty much exploded in the first Blade, i highly doubt we'll ever get the chance.
SabretoothTiger- I called that guy (who seems to be called Blade too) chicken george because he's a walkin stereotype on two legs!!! Snipes's Blade at least looks decent and isn't stereotyped. Plus when you're "nightstalking" the last thing you should want is to be more visible than a landing strip at the airport!!! So "logic" should come into play in our day and age.
Shaman - 7/8/2009, 7:57 AM
sorry shaman got as far as crooked...but i agree....i think :P
teabag - 7/8/2009, 8:57 AM
Shaman: I would have to disagree...I dont think Blade movies are the best vampire movies. They arent even in the top ten. I wouldnt even consider Blade movies 'vampire' movies. It was more like a kung-fu flick. Every so called 'vampire' knew kung fu and it was basically a karate kung fu movie, that 'happened' to have vampires in it.
The thing I am soooooooooo sick of in movies to today, expecailly 'action' movies are two things:
1. I HATE the 'wire' and 'harness' that the actors use these days (ala crouching tiger hidden dragon)...what moronic garbage. What 'cheap' gimmicks!
The other thing that I HATE...is that whenever there is a fight scene, 90 percent of the time it is a 'kung-fu' fight scene...How come everyone in movies knows kung fu? How come the fighters don't know any other kind of martial art. just once I would like to see a character get attacked by a kung-fu character, and totally kick his ass using grappling or judo wrestling. Idk...anything!
I dont know...I am just sick of wire harnesses and jung fu in action movies ESPECIALLY VAMPIRE MOVIES!!!
Jojo Risin - 7/8/2009, 9:09 AM
Well, you know, to each's own characteristics to define what a vampire movie consists of. IMO, it was a vampire movie that "happened" to have kung-fu in it. Why you ask? Cause the story had to do with Vampires... PERIOD. Not Kung-Fu schools. Who's to say that kung-fu or martial arts(which nowadays IS part of most people's everyday lives) doesn't belong in any other type of movie than martial arts movies??? In fact, it was the very first time in hollywood history that a vampire movie had kung fu in it. The previous ones were not from hollywood. So in a way it was inventive but didn't take anything away from the vampire lore that was used in the movie's script. I was thrilled of this inventive idea especially since it had to do with a comic book character. I concider it one of the very best vampire movies ever because it didn't massacre any vampire lore unlike a recent movie that shall not be named. Also, many vampire films in the past were ridiculous lacklusters. John Carpenter ring any bells??? That's just naming one of the many.
I would agree with you on the martial arts styles not being very diverse in the first one however, in the second, if you listen to the comentary, they used A LOT of different fighting styles INCLUDING wrestling moves. But logically, in the "streets" you'll be punched waaaayyy before you ever get "tornado-DDTed" from a garbage container. In fact, aside from boxing, kung-fu is the most popular style that doesn't involve "telegraphic" moves such as kicking. You gotta go with logic. In a narrow alley, you wouldn't jump at the chance to use Capoeira ya know? And, you have to take in consideration that ground grabs and submission moves aren't that spectacular in fighting scenes in the movies. Aikido is very cool but Seagal just milked that cow to dust. A movie has to be fast paced and thrilling, it's not UFC. So naturally Kung-Fu and basic forms of Karate are the favorite and most logical styles to be used. But the moment they start fancy kicking, what happens??? That's right, they get taken down with sweeps and look ridiculous. It's just not efficient. And if only the main character knew Kung-fu, it wouldn't really provide much chalenge so IMO, i'm willing to let that detail slide.
Shaman - 7/8/2009, 9:37 AM
@ Mojo - If you're going to be a fighter, you better know how to fight. But if fights in movies were to be what they are in real life, they would wind up being boring to watch.
Hollywood fights have never been nor will they be ever close to the real thing (well cept Indy shooting the sword wielding freak)
anyways. Do not mistake my crooked chocolate knife wielding skills yo. It may not hit an eye, but I will still rake them with it.
TheJester - 7/8/2009, 10:32 AM
@ SHammy
Akido is for pussies. It's parent art Aikijujutsu (see my avatar) is faaaaaaar better. (also the parent art to Judo and Ju Jitsu)
Akido: Subdue opponent, ask questions.
Aikijujutsu: Kill the mother [frick]er that is attacking you.
TheJester - 7/8/2009, 10:39 AM
Sounds fair to me :)
Shaman - 7/8/2009, 10:41 AM
@ shaman
yeah i know its a prequel, i see your point.
but the idea seems pointless and uninteresting to me.
i would rather see Jessica Biel do a Blade spin off ;-)
shadowboxer - 7/8/2009, 4:06 PM
Id rather see Jessica Beil spinn off my cock
