VIDEO: Go BTS Of The Very
Tense Silly Climax Of WORLD WAR Z
EW have debuted an exclusive behind-the-scenes video from the extras on the World War Z Blu-ray, giving us an insight into the shooting of that scene near the end with Brad Pitt getting up close and personal with a zombie.
Towards the end of the movie many critics called a "smart take on the zombie genre", Brad Pitt's character finds himself in a room full of deadly viruses, with a zombie right outside the door. One of those viruses holds the key to finding a way to immunize themselves from the plague that's swept the world, but he isn't sure which one. He has no direct contact with his doctor pals in the control room, BUT, they can see him on camera, they have access to a phone outside, and he has a pen and paper! So obviously he just needs to write the name of the viruses on the pad, hold it up to the camera and tell them to ring the phone when he comes to a safe one right? Nah, he writes "tell my family I love them" instead and then takes a gamble. Click on the image below to see how that (otherwise admittedly tense) scene was filmed.
World War Z hits DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday.
