VIDEO: Red Letter Media Review CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

We haven't featured a "Half In The Bag" from Mike and Jay for a while, so here's their latest review. Did they enjoy the Marvel sequel as much as everyone else seemed to, or do they spend the entire review pretending to mix up the names of various CBM subtitles? Well..it can be both!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is out now, and if you haven't seen it yet...what the hail Hydra are you waiting for?

Jesus [frick], every time I try to watch a video on this site one of the ads starts looping and never shuts up.
Scarilian - 4/9/2014, 6:49 AM
"The end where all the spaceships are exploding"

Quotes like the above are why I stopped watching their videos - they don't seem to understand what they are talking about most the time.

They spend most the review comparing it to the old Captain America flick that everybody agrees sucks or simply to other random things to pad out the review while making jokes. Its less about what they have to say and more about "What will make the people watching laugh" - demonstrated by the occasional fat guy in audience joke or side skint.

If you enjoy their reviews that's fine - just not my sort of comedy review as I prefer them being informational also and knowing more about what they are talking about than just what is shown in the film.

Has anyone made a "Keep calm and HAIL HYDRA" poster yet?
SuperCat - 4/9/2014, 7:18 AM
They get cool points for the "Disco Godfather" reference.

DoubleD - 4/9/2014, 7:37 AM
HAIL HYDRA !

This my first Hail Hydra but two men in dark suits came to my door and said get with the picture or your toast :)
DoubleD - 4/9/2014, 7:43 AM
Captian America BEST comic book movie in my book Equals the Avengers.

Plus lets all remember DC/WB already blinked with Batman vs Superman when they moved their release date by a year so it would not go up against The Avengers Age of Ultron. Marvel is not worried about Cap 3 going up against the Superman / Batman movie is because the have something special planned for Cap 3. Team up with Black Panter or some other BIG Marvel hero. Marvel has a plan. Be careful DC fans Marvel always has a plan. Hail Hydra
Joementum - 4/9/2014, 7:47 AM
Thought so
LEOSTRATOR - 4/9/2014, 8:01 AM
These guys suck and definitely not funny.
GiantNerd - 4/9/2014, 8:09 AM
"Superman destroys the audience".. "CORRECT"
KraftB0X - 4/9/2014, 8:27 AM
@DoubleD you're most certainly asking for trouble with all you have there....

Anyway, I still have yet to see this movie. ;-;
DoubleD - 4/9/2014, 8:35 AM
KraftBox I saw Cap three times already. Everytime I go the movie audience is getting bigger. After the first time I sat there wanting more Captain America. This a superhero movie where the HERO is truely the star. I didn't want more Winter Soldier, Nick Furry, Robert Redford, Black Widow, I WANT TO SEE MORE CAPTAIN AMERICA he kicked ASS and was not afraid to hold anything back. CAP KICKS BUTT. Cap was having fun even when facing the Winter Soldier he always knew he was the man.
crushercreel23 - 4/9/2014, 8:42 AM
This movie was so good it makes me wanna watch everything Captain America, even that crappy 1990 movie, lol

Mankzin2 - 4/9/2014, 8:43 AM
You got to love it when the bad guy tells you everything (Zola). Makes you glad that Marvel has such stupid villians or the good guys would never win.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/9/2014, 8:54 AM
Lol they dissed Man of Steel while giving props to Marvel. These guys also seem like they need to do some Marvel research. ;)
RorMachine - 4/9/2014, 8:56 AM
Zola was stalling them. Knowing all their deaths were imminent, someone as arrogant as Zola wouldn't be able to resists a bit of gloating about how Hydra had taken them all for fools.

But hey, not paying attention to movies works for some.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/9/2014, 9:00 AM
@Mank stupid Villains? Hydra infiltrated shield since the 40's and you say the villains were stupid? Name more stupid villains. Smh.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/9/2014, 9:01 AM
Lol @Ror great explanation. It gets tiring educating folks lol.
Ryguy88 - 4/9/2014, 9:04 AM
Ahaha, dat trivia speed round!
Ryguy88 - 4/9/2014, 9:06 AM
Calm down Remy, your brain can only handle so much.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/9/2014, 9:06 AM
@scarilian Cap 1 didn't suck at all. Most people did not think that. If you disliked it than say so. ;)
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/9/2014, 9:10 AM
@Ryguy88 My brain is the equivalent of Arnim Zola. Shhhhh Hail Hydra!! :D
Ryguy88 - 4/9/2014, 9:11 AM
DoubleD, Marvel does have a plan but they are only sometimes willing to do something good with it. Cap 2 was an example of the good, Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 was an example of the forgettable.

Also, it doesn't matter how confident a studio is with their movie, having it open on the same day with another huge movie gunning for the exact same audience will always take a chunk out of their potential business. They will not open on the same day.
Ryguy88 - 4/9/2014, 9:12 AM
Pretty sure Zola's brain is non-existent ;)
MarkV - 4/9/2014, 9:14 AM
DoubleD, agreed. Cap kicks insane ass in that movie.

When he nailed a dude's hand to the wall with a big ass hunting knife in the opening action scene I knew shit was about to get real.

"Stand down, Captain Rogers"
the1egend1ives - 4/9/2014, 9:41 AM
@RorMachine

Very true. It's also worth mentioning that Zola didn't tell Steve and Natasha anything that they didn't already know or would've eventually found out from Agent Sitwell. And they knew about Sitwell just from piecing his presence on the Lemurian Star with the rest of the puzzle.
DoubleD - 4/9/2014, 10:03 AM
Ryguy88, you might not have liked Iron Man 3, 1.2 billion dollars, and Thor The Dark World 645 million dollars but it sure fit in with there plans and the general audience loved both these movies. I do not like Man of Steel but that's just my opinion because 660 million dollars means someone like it.

I AGREE I think someone will move their movie before the release because both will suffer in the first week numbers.
MecoBoy - 4/9/2014, 10:12 AM
No mames parecen vírgenes estos gueys, pinches nacos
EnSabahNurD - 4/9/2014, 10:27 AM
These guys are funny but come on, the Fox and Sony Marvel movies are not Marvel Studios movies. Why are they even comparing the production value of First Class to anything Marvel Studios has produced? They have nothing to do with each other beyond source material which Fox blatantly ignores anyhow. Confusing anything Fox makes with actual Marvel material has gotta be my biggest peeve when it comes to these movies.
Spock0Clock - 4/9/2014, 10:42 AM
Red Letter Media are great for gauging the non-fan hipster reaction to comicbook movies. They're smart, but they really don't care for the genre.
EnSabahNurD - 4/9/2014, 10:46 AM
During the trivia game, they should've said the plot of Green Lantern was the plot of FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer. They're practically the same frickin movie. Laughed so hard at no one saw Ghostrider or Catwoman.
marvel72 - 4/9/2014, 3:16 PM
that was pretty funny,i f*ckin love the winter soldier.
Maximus101 - 4/9/2014, 6:08 PM
DoubleD grow up man stop trolling on here, I thought you would have stopped by now. Captain America was a good movie for sure tuning THAT good lol specially to see it three times already.
MightyZeus - 4/9/2014, 6:22 PM
I like some of there reviews. Some of them are funny some of them are not. This review was funny. Even though i love Man of Steel.
fettastic - 4/9/2014, 6:26 PM
I watched this for about 5 minutes, then I was like "Oh yeah....these guys are [frick]ing idiots.", then turned it off.
cimmerian - 4/9/2014, 7:00 PM
With these kinds of critics, I'm more interested of what they have to say about Man of Steel. Though I'm relieved they like CATWS.
