Thomas Jane On The Criminal Macabre Movie

It is life imitating art imitating life imitating art imitating Thomas Jane!
"I’m born to play that role."

That's what Thomas Jane has to say about the role of Cal McDonald protagonist of Steve Niles' comics -the "Criminal Macabre".

Jane also informed us that Universal is interested in putting up a film while a screenplay is being penned by Kyle Ward.

Jane's mug is heavily featured in some of the series covers.

---
I think Jane deserves another stab at a "Punisher-esque" like role. He really was not that bad at the Punisher, so I think he can do this one.

I'd sooooo watch this movie!!

But i want JANE back as THE PUNISHER! If DE NIRO does want a go at a MARVEL movie, this one with JANE would be the perfect one to do, make PUNISHER good again!!!

[frick] WARZONE! ; D

Thomas Jane in a heart beat! [frick] WARZONE!
Misterfan - 10/20/2009, 7:09 PM
Punisher Warzone truly was the [Insert Joel Sh*tmaker movie here], of marvel.

Jane was cool as punisher and I wish that he could return.
As for Criminal Macabre, He should definitely play the role

Thomas Jane in a heart beat! [frick] WARZONE!
Misterfan - 10/20/2009, 7:38 PM
Why the hate on Warzone... I like that movie... "Titus Pullo" was a good Punisher but I like Jane as well
access - 10/20/2009, 7:40 PM
b/c warzone was shite and (frick)ed the whole series from this point on. I'd SO see this!
antz1104 - 10/20/2009, 8:02 PM
oh yeah! loooved jane as the punisher!
KeepItReal - 10/20/2009, 9:45 PM
Thomas Jane is cool.. Especially after that pic surfaced of him as Jonah Hex.. An actor who likes his comics =D
Imran - 10/20/2009, 9:51 PM
I'll go see him in this movie!

I love it that he is a comic fan
but also a cool as hell actor!

If Jane was just a little younger he
would make a perfect Cap America!
DDD - 10/21/2009, 1:56 AM
[frick] [frick] [frick] and [frick] WARZONE!! ; D

ACCESS @ Dude Lionsgate/Marvel A$$ [frick]ed it from start to finish man!

Ray was a good PUNISHER but the rest was just plain terrible!

And i hate the fact MICRO CHIPS first movie appearance outing is him getting his head blown off, i wont even go there with the lame one and a half PUNISHER TASK FORCE etc lol.

JANE all the way, throw DE NIRO in and PUNISHER will be box office gold at the Cinema!!!

LEEE777 - 10/21/2009, 4:57 AM
"Deserves another stab"?? Dude Jane owned that role! Sure the movie could have been better, but it still wiped the floor with Borezone. Peoples heads exploding every 5 minutes is not a story..and a man mumbling cliche's while shooting guns is not acting. What a piece of shit.
RorMachine - 10/21/2009, 4:58 AM
BOREZONE @ Lmao, good name @ ROR!! ; D
LEEE777 - 10/21/2009, 5:02 AM
Borezone??? u jus said heads were blowin up every 5 minutes...if u think warzone was bad then u hav neva read punisher maxx series cus it was dead on...Jane was a good punisher but the rest of the movie was 2 light hearted 4 a punisher flick...warzone was closer 2 the source material...a true fan would know that...

XmutantX - 10/21/2009, 6:09 AM
Oh really? Cos i seem to re4member the Garth Ennis run on Punisher having a little something called A STORY to go with all the exploding heads. Y'know, an actual point, character development. It wasn't the deepest material granted, but there was more about what it means to be a vigilante and the nature of what Castle was doing...of course that depends on whether you actually read the comics or just looked at the pictures, in which case Warzone was dead on!
RorMachine - 10/21/2009, 6:21 AM
I've never read it. Looks interesting though.
BmanHall - 10/21/2009, 6:32 AM
TRUTHFULLY, JANES PUNISHER WAS THE COOLEST..TRUE THE NEWER ONE LOOKED DEAD ON BRADSTREET, BUT JANES WAS MORE REALISTIC AND RAW
GUNSMITH - 10/21/2009, 7:01 AM
ROR @ Lmao.

XmutantX @ It may be closer in some sort of twisted way, but they [frick]ed everything up in BOREZONE and ive read a hell of a lot of PUNISHER comics and most the MAXES, im total die-hard! WARZONE was shat on big time!! : D

Its nearly down there with CATWOMAN, an that really hurts me to say, coz i was really expecting a true PUNISHER out of it. Yes RAY was quite a good FRANK but the rest sucked!
LEEE777 - 10/21/2009, 7:06 AM
IF JANE DID PUNISHER HIS WAY BUT HAD THE COSTUMING AND EQUIPMENT STEVENSON HAD IN WARZONE..THATS THE PUNISHER THAT WOULD BE AWSOME.
GUNSMITH - 10/21/2009, 7:12 AM
GUN @ Your right, an its a pity JANE didn't get his PUNISHER because anything would've been so much better than the last attempt!!

I always thought a movie based on the original MIKE ZECK mini series from the 80's would've been perfect for a PUNISHER film, including JIGSAW in it.
LEEE777 - 10/21/2009, 7:18 AM
meh
superdog - 10/21/2009, 7:59 AM
@ GUNSMITH: None of the Punisher movies were great, but you're right. Jane's was the best by far.
BmanHall - 10/21/2009, 8:35 AM
'Warzone sucked! Jane should do Punisher again! Blah, blah, blah'

Guys, it will never happen. You gotta move on
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 8:44 AM
MultiPurposePoni@you never know
mwkcope - 10/21/2009, 9:27 AM
Dude, when you quit a job publicly like he did, consider that bridge burnt
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 9:46 AM
Well, it would be cool if Jane came back to do things right but there's as much of a chance of getting Michael 58 years old Keaton back as Batman.
Shaman - 10/21/2009, 9:48 AM
@Shaman: Keaton IS Batman! People often forget that his casting was the most heavily disputed choice for an iconic comic character, even more so than Leger's Joker.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 9:57 AM
Janes punisher had more of a cinnimatic story I agree...it explained alot more about how frank castle became the punisher...great...but the rest of the movie was garbage...as 4 jane..YES i liked him...i actually became a fan of jane because of that movie...but warzone was better in my eyes because it was more gritty like the maxx series...they didnt feel they needed 2 tell his origin 4 half the movie cus we had all seen janes version...thats y there was a lack of story and more action...everything we complained about with the 1st one they put in the 2nd...but everything we liked with the 1st one..they left outta the 2nd...im a meat head action junky so thats prolly y i prefered the 2nd...the HARD R rated version...(but yes i will agree most of the other characters in both movies ruined them!)...i hope ray comes back 4 a sequel but with a better story but keep the R rating...

XmutantX - 10/21/2009, 10:45 AM
Multi- In my heart, till the end of days, you know i damn well agree with your statement!!! :))

XmutantX- That's a great comment, i totally get what you're saying. But i'd like it if Jane returned which will never happen.
Shaman - 10/21/2009, 12:54 PM
I thought Warzone was horrible! It RAPED the max series. Sure, it had the same characters by name, but that was the only way it was related. In the comics Pittsy was a (frick)ing pyscho, not some fat slob and Ink wasn't his emo kid. Even the punisher was off, he would never kill a cop, I don't care if he's undercover! Thats his mantra! He would have done surveillance and known that. The only part that was slightly accurate was Soap, that guy did a good job.
antz1104 - 10/21/2009, 2:19 PM
See, I think the problem was is that both movies had what the other lacked that made both of them suffer critically as much as they did. I think if both movies could've been somehow amalgamated together, it would've been perfect for the most part.
MovieTheaterLad - 10/21/2009, 4:30 PM
MovieTheaterLad@ I agree with you!!!!...because I already said it...
