By Robert Garlen - 12/28/2012
(Note: I took More creative Liberties with this than my previous period piece castings as to help fit certain new characters into continuity)

Director: Directors are responsible for overseeing creative aspects of a film under the overall control of the film producer. They often develop the vision for a film and carry out the vision, deciding how the film should look, in other words they make their vision come to life. They are responsible for turning the script into a sequence of shots. They also direct what tone it should have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience. Film directors are responsible for deciding camera angles, lens effects and lighting with the help of the cinematographer and set design with the production designer. They will often take part in hiring the cast and key crew members. They coordinate the actors' moves, or blocking and also may be involved in the writing, financing and editing of a film.

Fred Dekker (Notable Works: Night of the Creeps, Monster Squad): Despite directing one of the 1980's most notable childhood flicks. Fred is an avid comic book fan. A great director who's great at organizing an ensemble. His work with Monster Squad is Unparalleled. He would have made one hell of an epic out of the Avengers.

Screenwriter: Screenwriters are responsible for researching the story, developing the narrative, writing the screenplay, and delivering it, in the required format, to Development Executives. Screenwriters therefore have great influence over the creative direction and emotional impact of the screenplay and, arguably, of the finished film. They either pitch original ideas to Producers in the hope that they will be optioned or sold, or screenwriters are commissioned by a producer to create a screenplay from a concept, true story, existing screen work or literary work, such as a novel, poem, play, comic book or short story.

Fred Dekker (Notable Works: House II: The Second Story, The Monster Squad): I love his script for Monster Squad, it's a true masterpiece of childhood wonderment. He wasn't really on the list until I checked Monster Squad out on IMDb. He's worked with Lethal Weapon's Shane Black on the Story, and no doubt his notable status as a comic book fan was also and influence.

Composer: A film score (also sometimes called background music or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers, under the guidance of the film's director and/or producer, and are then usually performed by an ensemble of musicians – most often comprising an orchestra or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – and recorded by a sound engineer.

Ennio Morricone (The Dollars Trilogy, The Thing, The Untouchables): You look up Composer in the dictionary, most likely you'll see this modern legend Ennio Morricone. Best known for his work on Westerns he's also done films such as The Thing where he delves into the isolation of each character, and The Untouchables where gives the grand opening and characters a wonderfully heroic versus crime theme that set the tone of the movie perfectly. Their is no question his Avengers score would be beautiful.

Captain Steven G. Rogers/Captain America (Height: 6'2", Age: 20's): During the dark days of the early 1940's a covert US military experiment turned Steve Rogers into America's first Super-Soldier, Captain America. Throughout the war, Cap and his partner Bucky Barnes fought alongside infantry and with a group of heroes known as the Invaders. In the closing months of World War II, Captain America and Bucky were both presumed dead in an explosion.

Sam Jones (Height: 6'3", Age: 35 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Flash Gordon, Code Red, No Man's Land): He's a decent actor with a classic 40's handsome man look. He has a stern commanding voice that allows him to show rank, strength, but more importantly vulnerability, he may not be Chris Evans, but he would be a hell of a lot more memorable and loved the Sallinger {This is coming from a fan of Sallinger's Movie}

Tony Stark/Iron Man (Height: 6' 1 {Normal} 6' 6" {Armored} Age: 30's): Iron Man is one of the most widely known heroes in the world. Anthony "Tony" Stark was born with extreme intelligence. After the death of his parents when he was 21, Stark inherited Stark Enterprises. After being wounded while in a war zone, he built an armored suit that would help keep him alive. Stark helped to organize the superhero team, The Avengers early in his career as a superhero.

Alec Baldwin (Height: 6', Age: 31 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Cutter to Houston, Sweet Revenge, Knot's Landing): If there was an actor ever meant to play Iron Man it would probably be Alec Baldwin. He's always been an actor worth his weight, starting out on T.V. And moving to Film he's built like a playboy, being a handsome fellow and a great actor he's probably the best person you could cast as Stark in the 1980s. How can you go wrong when the guy has "WIN" in his name? Alec would have been as iconic an Iron Man as Robert Downy Jr.

Thor Odinson (Height: 6' 6", Age: Unknown): Leaping from the legends of Norse mythology, the Asgardian God of Thunder, Thor, is the son of Odin the All-Father and Jord, the spirit of the Earth. He frequently stands alongside the Avengers in the defense of the people of Midgard (Planet Earth), often against the schemes of his half-brother Loki

Arnold Schwarzenegger (Height: 6' 2", Age: 42 {As of 1989} Notable Works: The Villains, Scavenger Hunt. Conan The Barbarian): I am a bonified Schwarenegger fan. His work on Conan the Barbarian is my entire Argument, he really put a lot into that role and it was one of his best performances, if he could do that with Thor He'd make it memorable.

David Banner (Height: 5'9", Age: 40's): Scientist, Physician, Dr. David Banner had been experimenting to tap into the resources of inner human strength, but while experimenting on himself, by pure mistake, or fate, a high level dose of Gamma Radiation forever marked him. Now whenever he becomes enraged he transformes into the Hulk. But with his curse he must exile himself, until he can find a cure to rid himself and the world of the Dangerous Monster known as The Hulk!

Bill Bixby (Height: 5'9", Age: 55{As of 1989} Notable Works: The Courtship of Eddie's Father, The Magician, The Incredible Hulk): The Reason there is no 80's Hulk is because i decided to piggyback off the 70's T.V. Show, thus giving the audience the benefit of knowing the character and erasing those terrible T.V. Movies feature Thor and DareDevil. We all know Bixby is the man and could do a great job in the role.

Hulk (Height: 6'6", Age: 40's): The Scientific by-product of David Banner's experiments into gamma radiation, A hulking green beast nearly invlunberable only triggered when David Banner is pitted into an uncontrollable fit of Rage. Possibly the Hulk is the Most Powerful being in the Universe.

Lou Ferrigno (Height: 6'4", Age: 38 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Hercules, The Adventures of Hercules II, The Incredible Hulk): I'd like to say that this would be a silver-age hulk. That means he'd only get to be around 6'6", 6'7" like he originally was. Second this is a new Hulk, a more evolved Hulk than from the show, this time he's developed a bit of an attitude and rivalry now with Banner and Thor. This would really allow Lou to use his full set of acting skills and give him a more memorable take on the Hulk.

Giant Man (Height: 5'10", Age: 30's) Scientist, Super Hero, Genius. Works that aptly describe Giant Man, better known to his wife and friends as Hank Pym. A Member of the Avengers who's discovery of the now known-as Pym Particles allow him to enhance his own muscle mass by growing to Giant Lengths, or covertly spy on enemies by shrinking to the size of a simple Ant.

William Hurt (Height: 6'2" {Standard}, Age: 39 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Altered States, Eyewitness, The Big Chill): A classical actor, I've always held a certain amount of respect for Will, He wasn't always a scene stealer but he always made the films he was in a bit classier and more enjoyable. He's got a stark presence that ensure him as an 80's Giant Man as a great idea.

Wasp (Height: 5'4" {Standard} Age: 30's): Beautiful Wife and Intellectual equal to Dr. Henry Pym. Wasp is a superheroine of the Avengers with an un matched ability to shrink herself and fly.

Sonia Braga (Height: 5'2", Age: 39 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Gabriela, Kiss of the Spider-Woman, The Man who Broke 1,000 Chains): Thank god for Kiss of the Spider-Woman. Her performance in that was magnificent, enchanting, and all around lovely. It makes me want to know what her take on Wasp would have been.

Nick Fury (Height: 6'2", Age: 50's-60's): Former army Colonel now a headmaster of a world organization of Spies dedicated to batteling a new form of Super-Terrorism with the organization Known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (The Strategic Homeland Intervention Espionage and Logistics Division)

George Peppard (Height: 6', Age: 61 {As of 1989} Notable Works: The Blue Max, The A-Team, Hit Man): I'm not going to lie. I am a huge fan of the first season of the A-Team. Having Hannibal Smith as Nick Fury is just so wonderful I can't possibly pass it up. He's an amazing Actor and did some very memorable Films.

Agent/Dr. Elizabeth "Betty" Ross (Height: 5'6", Age: 30's): Beautiful scientific Prodigy and daughter to General Thad Ross. Now a trained espionage agent used for missions of Deep scientific importance with a keen intellect that could match Banner's own. While she also harbors deep feelings for him, having deeply studied his condition and the events leading up, including the death of Banner's First Wife.

Bonnie Bedelia (Height: 5'4", Age: 41 {As of 1989} Notable Works: The Big Fix, Death of an Angel, Die Hard): I actually knew i wanted Bonnie before i did the cast because i am a fan of her work. She is a wonderful and beautiful actress, who i really wanted to see play someone with a little action, and a little science behind them. More importantly I wanted to see her working with Bill Bixby, I was very curious to see how those two would gravitate around each other.

Hawkeye (Height: 6'1", Age: 30's): Former Super Assassin Clint Barton had a knack for traveling world round, a mysterious man hired him for a challenging hit: Nick Fury! Taking the contract at a recorded 10 Million Dollars, he was able to break into the Shield HQ and Launched a signature Arrow into what he thought was Nick Fury... Turned out to be a Model Life Decoy and the Mysterious Contractor revealed to be Nick Fury, who offered Barton a Choice, Join him in the Apprehension of Super Terrorist or go to jail for the rest of his life, ever since then he's become Hawkeye, Agent of Shield.

Dirk Bennedict (Height: 5'11", Age: 44 {As of 1989}, Notable Works: Battlestar Galactica, Ruckus, The A-Team): It's hard to say what he's best known for as he's done two Iconic T.V. Series (Battlestar Galactica, A-Team) I'd say it's more his portrayal of Face then of Starbuck that interests me to the prospects of him playing Hawkeye. Hawkeye was still an underground type of character. Not Popular enough for his own book but popular enough to exist.

Black Widow (Height: 5'8", Age: 30's): Former Soviet Agent, who had defected from Russia after being brainwashed into bombing an Elementary school and framing the Americans, But the information of her involvement was held by Nick Fury blackmailing her into joing the Super Spy Unit, giving her an opportunity for revenge against those who brainwashed her.

Maryam D'Abo (Height: 5'5", Age: 29 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Something is Out There, The Living Daylights, White Nights): For me, In The Living Daylights she played what i would consider the closest incarnation of the Black Widow that's ever been seen on film. Maryam is a great actress who's done the spy genre and the running the stunts and the action. No doubt she is one talented lady.

Red Skull/Johann Schmidt (Height: 6'1", Age: 30's): The Red Skull, Johann Schmidt (sometimes spelled Shmidt), was a former Nazi general officer and confidant of Adolf Hitler. He has been closely affiliated with HYDRA and is an enemy of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers, and the interests of the United States and the free world in general. He was physically augmented by having his mind placed into the body of a clone of Captain America, the pinnacle of human perfection. He has been seemingly killed in the past, only to return time and time again to plague the world with schemes of world domination and genocide.

Jeremy Irons (Height: 6'1", Age: 41 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Moonlighting, Betrayal, The Wild Duck): I know some got a bit dissapointed he wasn't Magneto in my 90's X-Men but that was so i could use him as 80s Red Skull. He is by far one of the most screen dominating actors, he was the first person i thought of for the role, i second guessed it when i thought of Alan Rickman but Iron's Blonde Hair gave him just an extra nudge {Nazi's being those who perfered blond hair blue eyes} to secure him.

Baron Zemo (Height: 6'1", Age: 40's-50's): Russian Prim Minister Heinrich Zemo, of Royal birth he was a Baron who Intended to use the Vietnam War to Erupt World War III. Now Working with the Masters of Evil to Jump start a new war to take over the world along side Loki and Red Skull.

Jeroen Krabbe' (Height: 6. Age: 45 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Het Verleden, The Fourth Man, The Living Daylights): Honestly it's all because of his role in "The Living Daylights" that this choice works so very well.

Madame Hydra (Height: 5'7", Age: 30's): Daughter to a Jewish Hungarian woman known as Merriam Sarkissian from her rape at the hands of the Red Skull. Born in Hungry and raised by soviet she was trained to be a master spy. But seeking the Russian KGB force as weakling she takes over the Russian Intelligence field and develops the infamous Hydra, a "Privatized" Russian Terrorist sect off the books where she acts a supreme ruler intending to take over the world Joining her father once discovering him to be alive.

Cassandra Gava (Height: 5'5", Age: 30 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Conan The Barbarian, Night Shift, Dead Aim): Beautiful actress from Conan the Barbarian, she has a warrior womans look, something I wanted ingrained in the character. Making her less of a tell you boss and more of a threatening force. Something to evolve female villains into being more threatening then male ones, creating a new trend amongst films.

Obidiah Stane (Height: 6' 5" {Normal} 6' 11" {Armored}, Age: 40's-50's): as a wealthy financier, Obadiah Stane becomes the president and CEO of his own company (Stane International) as a munitions dealer. He also goes into business with Howard Stark. After Stark and his wife died in a car accident, Stane turns his sights on acquiring control of Stark International, the industrial corporation he had worked with, now owned by Tony Stark (the son of Howard Stark).

Michael Ironside (Height: 5' 10", Age: 39 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Double Negative, Scanners, Top Gun): Ironside now best known as Darkseid in the DC Animated Universe was for a while noteworthy do to his iconic performance in the hit sci-fi-horror film Scanners. Attributing His nearly chameleon like talent as an actor I chose him as Obidiah Stane. Ironside is a legend of an actor who's synonymous for villain roles, But a character like Stane isn't really a role I've seen him in. He's a wonderful performer who could probably do the role in his sleep.

Madame Masque (Height: 5'9", Age: 30's): Former Russian Spy behind the Black Widow's own Brainwashing and manipulation, but staying at large. She operates as a super assassin to the highest bidder. But Joining the Masters of Evil when discovering their plot to to dissect the world into equal parts for all to rule.

Maude Adams (Height: 5'9", Age: 44 {As of 1989} Notable Works: The Man With The Golden Gun, Octopussy, Rollerball): I love Casting Bond Girls, they're so seductively sexy and yet great at playing evil heartless characters. Maude is a great example, especially in her role in Octopussy. She could really carry the role with a very romanced evil to it.

Loki (Height: 5'8", Age: 30's) The Cynical Adopted Brother to Thor, Loki survived in a life of hunger and starvation, always having his accomplishment overshadowed by his Brother he turned to destroy His Brother's Legacy framing him for Murder, now banding together with a group of cynical villains, moving earth time and space around to from: The Masters of Evil.

Willem Dafoe (Height: 5'9 1/2", Age: 34 {As of 1989} Notable Works: The Loveless, Platoon, Off Limits): The Guy is like the true Master of Evil, He has a dark weasel type of voice that scares you. He has this look to him as if he might be in control and yet just snap at any moment. Dafoe is a noteworthy actor who has done roles like this in his sleep and could easily pull of the Role of Loki.

Enchantress (Height: 6'1", Age: 20's-30's): Young magician who fell in love with Thor, but advances were largely ignored and misplaced. With continuous frustration she attempted to murder all the other women who Thor Loved in an attempt to become his only mate. With her plan failing she had sacrificed her soul to learn the art fo Black Magic in efforts to force Thor to love her. This devotion caused her to be looked upon and mentored by Thor's Brother Loki.

Michelle Pfieffer (Height: 5'7 1/2", Age: 31 {As of 1989} Notable Works: B.A.D. Cats, Scarface, Ladyhawke): She sent all the teen boys in the 90's into early puberty as Catwoman. A true Sedcutress, Pfieffer was born to play the Enchantress, having ample talent and looks to take the kind of crazy seduction I would envision a movie version of the character to have.

Abomination (Height: 6'6", Age: Unknown): Emil Blonsky, born to Russian parents, a father who worked in at a nuclear power planet the radiation caused dangerous side-effects to Emil when Born, being physically power on an Olympic scale, but having reptilian skin. His parents were Murdered by KGB who took the young boy into custody seeking to turn him into the ultimate Russian weapon, they set up a Power Plant in Chernobyl, but when the factory went into Meltdown it completed Blonsky's long road to becoming the Abomination!

Michael Dorn (Height: 6'2 1/2" Age: 37 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Star Trek The Next Generation, CHiPs, Jagged Edge): His comfort with acting under make-up added onto his great action and stunt work from Star Trek made him a prime choice for this version of the Abomination. Dorn is an actor who has a sense of notability and fame onto himself that would help him add features to the role others might not explore.

The Leader/Dr. Samuel Sterns (Height 6'5", Age: 50's): Former Geneticist Samuel Sterns attempted to copy the incident of David Banner, with exception to the use of a new super steroid ment to cure Alzhiemers. With the new drug mixed with gamma radiation it took a wonderful, yet bizarre change to Sterns giving him enhanced intelligence and super strength.

Christopher Lloyd (Height: 6'1", Age: 51 {As of 1989} Notable Works: Back to the Future, Clue, Who Framed Roger Rabbit): It's really these types of roles that Lloyd is notorious for. He's a great actor that blends Humor with whit and that's something to bring more common interest into the Leader. It was very easy to cast him, especially giving him an altered storyline so that Incredible Hulk T.V. Series would fit right in.

Scorpio/Joseph Fury (Height: 6'3", Age: 60's): Brother To Nick Fury, A Hired Gun who's became the nightmare of spies the world over, once targeted his brother on contract for 10 million dollars, but his Brother escaped. He has now vowed to murder his own brother, as penance for his indiscretion during their childhood.

James Brolin (Height: 6'4", Age: 49 {As of 1989} Notable Works: The Amityville Horror, High Risk, Hotel): An amazing actor by any standard, he replace my original choice {The Late Lee Van Cleef} as Nick Fury's Insane hit-man brother. James always a class act would add a real sense of fun to the set, the role, and the overall project.

This was extremely well done. I really like most of the choices. There are only 1, maybe 2 choices here I am not a fan of. Otherwise, this is great! I absolutely adore Maryam as Black Widow! These are really amazing. The hard work is very evident here.

MrBlueSky - 12/28/2012, 7:50 AM
Awesome cast, man! My favorites have to be your picks for Nick Fury and Hawkeye.
MrDonut - 12/28/2012, 7:57 AM
Pretty nice cast, really like Alec Baldwin as Tony Stark
Only thing I'd change is Arnie as Thor; a young Liam Neeson I think could pull it off well
breakneckbeck - 12/28/2012, 10:25 AM
This is an absolutely fantastic cast!
The only change I would replace Schwarzenegger with Dolph Lundgren. I mean Lundgren is a spitting image of Thor, stands only an inch shorter than Thor, and is actually swedish. Great cast though!
FlixMentallo21 - 12/28/2012, 1:40 PM
I agree with brokentoejoe on the Dolph Lundgren thing as well. Also, minor note--the pic of Madame Hydra you used is actually that of Superman villainess Faora. Other than that, you created just one heck of a film spectacle! Did not expect Dirk Benedict for Hawkeye, or bringing in both Bixby and Ferrigno.

i dont think Arnold gives the Thor character the respect he deserves.

Hurt's a good choice i actually picked him as an 80's Superman, i think he's a bit beefy but would make for an interesting Pym. I would enjoy that

Both A-Team alumni are near perfect but if i had to trade one just to not use from the same show I'd trade Bennedict. Val Kilmer was 30, hes a decent alternative, i think

While i love the rest, Dafoe, Pfieffer and Lloyd are the shining cast members with Dafoa being one of the best casting coups ive seen in long time. he, as Loki, defines perfect casting
ILoveStargirl - 12/28/2012, 9:27 PM
Arnold Schwarzenegger auditioned for the role of the Incredible Hulk in the 70's, but he was rejected due to his inadequate height.
Kakarot - 12/28/2012, 10:42 PM
One of the only things I'm not sure on is having Dekker helm the project. He's used to lighthearted flicks, could he make an Avenegers film truly epic? Though Whedon is used to throwing in comic relief as well and it worked for the real film. But come on, he wrote House 2! Not exaclty a great credit. Still not a fan of Flash Gordon as Cap, I surprisingly think Arnold would work as Thor.
