Alicia Silverstone On...That Joel Schumacher Movie!

I will not be naming that movie in this article, you all know the one! Silverstone played Batgirl in it. While talking to MTV, she said she never realized how shit it would turn out to be.
There was a time when Alicia Silverstone was very famous you know. She could never act of course, but she was famous!

While talking to MTV about her new diet book, Silverstone recalls her experiences on filming Joel Schumacher's piece of garbage.

"There was all kinds of craziness," said Silverstone of the period of her life when the movie filmed. "I was really famous at that time and it was really hard. Someone told [Clooney] it would be a good idea for him to tell me how it is. To sit down and teach me about it."

"He was like, 'I don't know what to say.'" she laughed.

Apparently Silverstone had no idea how badly received the movie would be, by both comic fans and general audiences alike.

"No, I mean you're just doing a movie," she said. "You don't know what you're doing."

Never a truer word spoken. I mean how anyone can think a movie that has Arnie running around spouting direlogue like.."Do you know what killed duh dinosaurs?...Der Ice Aaaaage" could be anything but a turkey is beyond me, but there you go.

HOWLER16 - 10/13/2009, 7:09 PM
@Ror: Thanks for the impending nightmares
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 7:09 PM
I'll gladly give her that spanking! :D
DDD - 10/13/2009, 7:12 PM
SHE should do a BAT GIRL MOVIE!!!! ; D

(im joking)
LEEE777 - 10/13/2009, 7:13 PM
Man, she sure is BLOND ain't she? lol
DDD - 10/13/2009, 7:13 PM
I used to think the way she talks was cute, but now that s*** is just annoying.
StrangemannX09 - 10/13/2009, 7:14 PM
I just saw CLUELESS the other day lol.
LEEE777 - 10/13/2009, 7:27 PM
I have the biggest little thing for her like you wouldnt believe !

The other side of me is screaming " Now i know where Heath ledger found His inspiration for the Joker!"
shibazz - 10/13/2009, 7:27 PM
You know...

Looking back on that movie, it makes it much easier to watch now that we have Brave and the Bold out.

When you look at it as just a campy romp that never for one second took itself seriously, but really just played itself out like a modernized episode of the Adam West Batman show, it makes everything much less bad.
MovieTheaterLad - 10/13/2009, 7:29 PM
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A BAT GIRL WITH BOTTOMLESS ON A MOVIE, BALE JUST BANG HER
brazilianbatman - 10/13/2009, 7:30 PM
I think everyone had a bit of a thing for her around the time of that Aerosmith vid..but i always thought she had a Stallone gob, which took something away from it.
Rorschach01 - 10/13/2009, 7:31 PM
What'tttsss matter Ror? You don't like a women wittsss a lissssp?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 7:37 PM
She probably has a lisp from her jaws being stretched by sucking all those producers d...uh..I mean, boy, she does have quite some lisp there! lol
DDD - 10/13/2009, 7:44 PM
Nah, dont mind the lisp, just the look! Her top lip looks like its trying to do its own thing, and not telling the rest of her mouth. That being said, obviously i still would:)
Rorschach01 - 10/13/2009, 7:47 PM
Kinda like when her body doesn't tell her brain that she's acting. I've seen more charisma from piece of driftwood.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 8:00 PM
Her brain wasn't much in the first place. How could she accept that role after reading the script, or even seeing Batman Forever. This chick raises the term "Dumb Blond" that much higher
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 8:04 PM
That's bull, you can tell on a movie whether or not it'll be good, it's hard to tell if it'll be a blockbuster hit or even a moneymaker, but you can definitely tell if it's Sh*t like Schumacher's Batman
davidzuck - 10/13/2009, 8:17 PM
I like Silverstone. Never had a problem with her. Also I admit Clueless is one of my guilty pleasures. I like to sit down and watch it every once and a while. Also, like MOVIETHEATERLAD said. I think they were meant to be campy like Brave and Bold, but they just struck out. Also I'm sorry but also Arnie as Mr. Freeze and Uma Thurman as POISON IVY, hell no...
InstigatorGIRL - 10/13/2009, 8:35 PM
I thought we all agreed that director's name would never be displayed here?!?

Here are a few suggestions instead:

Captain Codpiece
Bat-nurple
Joel Assbadger
Mr. Sh*tmacher

MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 8:38 PM
Haha, love the Arnie quote you put in at the end there ROR! :D Man, that film really was awful...I havent seen it since before I even got into comic books but even then, it was bloody awful! I dont think that I could ever put myself through watching it again!!
joshw24 - 10/13/2009, 8:44 PM
It's amazing that that Mr. Sh*tmacher is the same guy that gave us The Lost Boys. The Irony is astounding
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 8:47 PM
Lost Boys! Classic! Did you ever see The Warriors?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 8:54 PM
Warriors? who hasn't seen the warriors? It's one of the greatest movies ever made. Walter Hill's masterpiece.
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 9:03 PM
That movie made we want to join a gang even more than West Side Story did
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 9:07 PM
I don't give a s***t about what the fans say about the movie, I thought the movie was good entertainment. Alicia was a perfect Batgirl.
Torian Brown - 10/13/2009, 9:14 PM
@Torian Brown, no disrespect, but you're crazy dude.

@multi, I always wanted to be snow, what about you
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 9:19 PM

grif - 10/13/2009, 9:19 PM
Hey guys, sorry I have not got a post on here in a while just got back from my honeymoon, and just now gettin settled back at my job and a new house as well as a wife.lol.
gambitfreak - 10/13/2009, 9:25 PM
@Torian: Don't worry dude, everyone has their idea of good entertainment. Hell, I used to fart in the bathtub and laugh my ass off. Now THAT was fun :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 9:26 PM
@gambit: Congrats man! Welcome to hell. . err, married life!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 9:26 PM
Thanks! lol goin back to work sucks but the sex was good! lol
gambitfreak - 10/13/2009, 9:29 PM
@gambitfreak, welcome back dude! Congrats on getting married! If you ever need a plumber to fix up your new house, just call me!
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 9:29 PM
@super: I liked Cochise :) but my all time favorite has to be The Outsiders (Hence, my moniker)

@gambit: Never call this guy to do plumbing work! He ate all my mushrooms, monkey-stomped my pet iguana and kept calling my wife 'Princess'
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 9:33 PM
Thanks man! it was fun I was just glad we didn't do the dancing crap to that chris brown song that they did on The Office. Our honeymoon was in Hawaii! It was awsome!
gambitfreak - 10/13/2009, 9:33 PM
@Multi, Dammit, You swore you'd never tell!!!!
Outsiders were cool. Always loved the novel more than the movie.

@gambit, Honeymoon in Hawaii? Damn, you've got some benjamins dude!
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 9:42 PM
@super: You didn't even fix the sink :(
MultiPurposePoni - 10/13/2009, 10:05 PM
@multi, What the hell did you expect, It was full of spiked turtles
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 10:12 PM
hmmm... loved the movie the outsiders. remembered liking the book better.
KeepItReal - 10/13/2009, 10:35 PM
@KIR,

Right? The book always spoke to me so much more than the movie. Don't get me wrong, the movie was cool, but S.E. Hinton's novel was a masterpiece
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 10:41 PM
yes... I think so too. I recently had the pleasure to read it yet again but this time with my daughter for her required reading in school. She did not fully appreciate it as much we have! lol!
KeepItReal - 10/13/2009, 10:53 PM
Who knows? Maybe she'll grow into it. That's what happened with my sis. I haven't read the book in a while, gotta buy it someday soon.
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 10:56 PM
haha. I love reading but my dau... oh lord I got to beat her with a stick to get her to read! lol
KeepItReal - 10/13/2009, 11:03 PM
WAT SHE DOING NOWADAYS?
GUNSMITH - 10/13/2009, 11:10 PM
@GUNSMITH, Probably Drugs. That's all silverstone's got left

@KIR, Just make sure there are no witnesses when you do. he he
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 11:26 PM
no witnesses. Gotcha! ;) gg
KeepItReal - 10/13/2009, 11:30 PM
walter hill is great. if you want to see a great great great walter hill film though, he created my favorite all time western. thats right THE LONG RIDERS. if i'm not mistaken i believe he made SOUTHERN COMFORT too which was very good. baseball furies were friggin cool even if they turned out to be whimps. BATMAN AND ROBIN was a steaming piece of crap.
gaikinger - 10/13/2009, 11:30 PM
LOST BOYS was a very good film in its time, however in my opinion its become a bit dated. the biggest problem with that film was those friggin corey twits. just imagine how much better it would have been without them and more vampire exploration. there was a script for a prequel but it never came to fruition.
gaikinger - 10/13/2009, 11:38 PM
have you heard seen the riff track for this movie, hilarious
thwhtGuardian - 10/13/2009, 11:39 PM
i just wanted to say one more thing. i always thought that DAVID CARRADINE formulated the character of BILL from KILL BILL from the Cole Younger character he played in THE LONG RIDERS and the Cain character he played in KUN FU. thats it...im done.
gaikinger - 10/13/2009, 11:44 PM
@Galikinger, I Kinda liked the coreys in that movie. Have never seen The Long Riders

@thwhtguardian, hilarious indeed

@KIR, :)
supermarioworldE - 10/13/2009, 11:47 PM
listen... THE LONG RIDERS is WALTER HILL'S take on the whole James Younger gang. real brothers playing real brothers with David, Keith and Robert Carradine playing the Younger brothers. James and Stacey Keach as Jesse and Frank James. Dennis and Randy Quaid as the Millers, and Cristopher Guest and his brother as the Ford brothers. The final gunfight is one of the best ever.
gaikinger - 10/13/2009, 11:59 PM
Interesting. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try to see if i could rent it by the end of the month.
supermarioworldE - 10/14/2009, 12:06 AM
You know, she may be just as dumb, she doesnt have her looks, but she has a nicer personality than Megan Fox. I would have taken Batgirl over Megan.

Why was the name of the unmentionable director named?

Ror-

The answer to that would be question is right there:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/LetsCutTheBS/news/?a=9519
My final word, remember? LOL

Phinehas - 10/14/2009, 12:09 AM
Jimmy P. and Justin G. with Tony Dezunga doing the artwork for Jonah Hex's first stand alone graphic novel titled "NO WAY OUT."
will be released in may of 2010 and will tie in with the movie being released in June of 2010.
hope some of you will enjoy this tidbit of news
georgia49th - 10/14/2009, 12:17 AM
I kinda think that HAYDEN PANTIERY(i think thats right) chick from HEROS has kinda taken up the Silverstone mantle. allthough i'm not sure Silverstone is the blithering idiot that i've found the Hayden chick to be. really though, everybody in hollywood is a deuchebag.
gaikinger - 10/14/2009, 12:24 AM
@georgia49th Cool. I know the movie is gonna be good. Although rock music in a period piece is a bit off putting.

@gaikinger, Hollywood is the home of douchebags. Why else would brett ratner live there
supermarioworldE - 10/14/2009, 12:31 AM
Brett Rat-turd is the Rat-turd who lives in the sewer beneath
the basement of the home of the biggest douche-bags in the
whole wide world, HOLLYWOOD!

I love movies but the suits have taken over Hollyweerd
and reduced masterpiece-painting to paint-by-numbers!
The artists need to revolt like 1776 and take the
capitol of movie-making back and give it back to the
people!
DDD - 10/14/2009, 1:33 AM
@MultiPP- Love the names for Mr. Sh!TMaker!

as for that other dumbAzz up ther whom i will not name either who said they enjoyed that movie..... why dont you go and check out DouchesRus.com and tell Keven i said hi. Friggin Sh!t4Brains sumbich! That damned movie starring my lovely ms. SilverStones was the very first movie i walked out of. And i would do it again.

She is sooooo Sexy though...

@Ror-01: i know huh thats why i think she looks like Heaths version of the Joker. Its the lips. I would still Love her Long Time! Oh me so Horny , Oh, Oh me so Horny me love her long time!

Oh and by the way... Ms. SilverTongue.... i loved up yer old best firend from childhood. She looks and acts just like you , and i couldnt resist. One night on a rooftop of my gallery and a few bottles of wine and your childhood friend was like Earl Grey in the morning. and thats real talk my sexzee lil beast!
shibazz - 10/14/2009, 1:34 AM
Thank goodness people like Favreau, Snyder, Nolan and Alex Proyas have done just that but guys like them are few and far between in Hollywood!
DDD - 10/14/2009, 1:35 AM
I find it hard to buy the excuse of an actor not knowing how shit the project they're on is. The script would be my first clue. Then walking on set with all that [frick]ing neon and black light all over the place like a ravers wet dream would be my second clue and my final cue to officially say "OK, this is going to be balls." I can't imagine someone flipping through the script and reading Arnie's lines and thinking "I want to be apart of this."

But then again, you don't need to be smart to be successful in Hollywood (right,FOX?). It's interesting to know what Alicia Silverstone has been up to though - writing diet books, ew.

WeaponX - 10/14/2009, 2:31 AM
I'd still plop her on a plate and sop her up with a biscuit.
SirPrize - 10/14/2009, 3:34 AM
What movie is she on about?

Thanks for not saying the name. That movie name has the same effect on me as "Lord Voldemort" to the wizarding community.

Just thinking about it makes me feel like this...

Howlett04 - 10/14/2009, 3:45 AM

:P

Gambitfreak@ congratulations and welcome back...oh and enjoy work cus now your married its the only thing sucking..lol :P
teabag - 10/14/2009, 5:06 AM
I THOUGHT SHE WAS ON THE SHOW- PSYCHE
GUNSMITH - 10/14/2009, 5:34 AM
I never liked her as batgirl, that character needs a reboot. I was hopping she would atmit how bad that movie was!
legder20 - 10/14/2009, 6:44 AM
It pisses me off when someone says they loved the Sh*tmaker flicks. That's a bit extreme, but it's true. If you liked those movies, you're either five years old, simple-minded, or gay (that not being an insult, but I think the gays would enjoy the bat-nipples). The only good things about those movies were Micheal Gough and what's-his-name that played Gordon. Never before has the "Batman and Robin are gay" theory been more heavily supported by any form of entertainment. You half expect Kilmer and O'Donal to start frenching when Batman says "Not a freind...A partner." You know Sh*tmaker wanted to put a frencher in there instead of the handshake that followed. Needless to say, I hate those movies. God love Christopher Nolan!
AxlKomix - 10/14/2009, 6:55 AM

MultiPurposePoni - 10/14/2009, 7:10 AM
Just a thought, Joel Schumacher is the anti-Christ... lol...
TheGrimm - 10/14/2009, 7:22 AM
You mean no one wanted this......

lol :P
teabag - 10/14/2009, 7:27 AM
axlkomix- Caine and Oldman are WAY better as Alfred and Gordon than the guys in the four previous films.

And i never got why the hell was that girl all that famous to begin with. She's as retarded as "Jack" in Tropic Thunder. And she litteraly looks like what Sylvester Stallone and Goldie Hawn's offspring would look like!

As for shitmaker, he sucks in every sense of the word! Even Lost Boys sucks today. Sure it was good back then and will always be better than Twitlight but it's still not that good of a film. What made that film a success was Keifer Sutherland, Jason Patrick and the kick ass soundtrack, period!
Shaman - 10/14/2009, 7:45 AM
I'm so glad the days of bat nippers and pinball machine fight scenes are long behind us.

Bad memories, they are.

@ The Grimm: Only to us, sir. To the rest of the world he's just a silly ass clown that shouldn't be directing a flea circus, much less a feature length film.

DDD:"Brett Rat-turd is the Rat-turd who lives in the sewer beneath
the basement of the home of the biggest douche-bags in the
whole wide world, HOLLYWOOD!"

lmao
Dude you had me at "Rat -Turd". But if that's where Ratboy lives then where does Scroteschmucker live? The backed up, rank, toxic, septic tank for the world's biggest douches?

DarthMulder - 10/14/2009, 8:26 AM
Pine, what had our debate about those silly stories with men riding Brontosaurs and talking snakes have to do with Shitmacker? ;)

I actually don't mind mentioning his name, after all, Lost Boys is still a classic, and Falling Down is great too. He just needs to stay away from all future CMB's.

Rorschach01 - 10/14/2009, 8:42 AM
Isn't Sh*tmacher filming avatar.

supermarioworldE - 10/14/2009, 9:41 AM
I love how she says when you're making a movie "you don't know what you're doing."

...Okay?
slimybug - 10/14/2009, 9:47 AM
Perhaps thats what Clooney was actualy telling her..lol
teabag - 10/14/2009, 10:07 AM
Why is Batman throwing up a black power fist??? Free Huey!!!
OhMyGod - 10/14/2009, 10:34 AM
LOL Teabag!!! That's why he was at a loss for words lookin at her chewin' her gum and twirling her blond hair. LOL

Hey, here's an idea for Scrotumaker's next film starring Alicia: "Lost Cause" LOL :P

*thow shall not thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink, thow shall not...*
Shaman - 10/14/2009, 10:38 AM
She is cute though. For a stroke victim, that is.

What caught my attention was how she mentioned, "At that point, I was really famous. " At least she knows, somewhere inside that thing she calls a brain, that she's not really famous anymore.

And you know that to this day I still haven't seen that movie all the way through? I made up my mind about Latex-fetish-man when he was making that Nicholas Cage film, 8mm. Los Angeles doesn't have a red light district, but he was so determined to make a seedy movie that he actually created one just for the movie. If he was trying to make a point about the realities of this underbelly of society, why go to such lengths? With that, I realized that he wasn't interested in holding a mirror up to society, he wanted to manufacture his own perverted one...
Velox - 10/14/2009, 10:53 AM
Perverts... aren't we all!!!

Shaman - 10/14/2009, 11:22 AM
LOL@Shaman: Can't argue, but how many people go to those extremes to let people know that they are one? In my mind, there's no other explanation for nipples on the bat-suit, not to mention my previous example.
Velox - 10/14/2009, 11:27 AM
here you go guys! Happy Wednesday! Dont say I never gave you anything!

Photobucket
KeepItReal - 10/14/2009, 12:02 PM

Velox- Yeah, that sure makes him a very deranged individual :P
Shaman - 10/14/2009, 12:59 PM
Teabag, I actually would have liked to see batman triumphant, I mean those pictures look kinda cool, and I think it would be pretty good movie if Jack Nicholson was in it because the first one was good because of him!
legder20 - 10/14/2009, 2:05 PM
@KIR: If you post someone else' pics from photobucket you run the high risk that their account isn't valid anymore :P
MultiPurposePoni - 10/14/2009, 2:13 PM
Ror, I completely misunderstood what you wrote on this article. And I have no idea what lollipops and polar bears have to do with the price of beans in Egypt.

Yes, it is evident that Shoorocker should not do CBMs. Other movies, ok.

Stories of men riding Brontos??? WTH?
Phinehas - 10/14/2009, 3:39 PM
They should've asked her what she thought of her costar Chris O'Donnell being cast as Captain America. lol
bubastis237 - 10/14/2009, 4:06 PM
Rosie would be a better Cap!!! :P
Shaman - 10/15/2009, 8:41 AM
She's still cute after all these years! Movie was terrible. One of the loudest movies I have ever seen in the theater too.
icebergslick - 10/15/2009, 9:05 PM
it still amazes me that after the first two--michael keaton--batman films that were appropriately dark and creepy and serious and well-acted and so on they somehow arrived at batman forever and batman and robin. the jump to absurdist farce was ridiculous.

i only wish christopher nolan had made bruce wayne less of a snotty, creepy playboy type and allowed the weird darkness and idiosynchratic detachment spawned by the batman character to bleed in the way it has for most of the modern batman sagas in the comics.
