Smallville Actor Facing 20 Years For Drug-Dealing

Sam Jones(Pete Ross) is facing some hefty prison time for messing about with the ol' Persian rugs.
Actor Sam Jones, who played Clark Kent's best friend Pete in the earlier seasons of Smallville , was arrested on Wednesday. Cops say he was part of a conspiracy to deal more than 10,000 pills of oxycodone.

Jones was taken into custody by DEA agents who claim that he was a "co-conspirator" in a series of major drug deals in 2008. According to documents filed in federal court, the DEA claims Jones was the "Hollywood connection" in a plot to illegally purchase and distribute the drug.

Jones has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. He's due in federal court in LA today. If convicted, Jones faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

Its funny I was just reading someone else's post of this. It gave the headline and said "Its not who you think it is". Then I click on it and it was exactly who I thougt it was. Pete's outta' work, He's gotta' make money somehow.

Wow he was annoying doubt they would have brought him back for any new episodes anyways. The only thing he was good for was... wait... i can't think of anything. I mean adding characters in is stupid. At least Chloe is hot! lol

Anyone remember the episode when Pete was under the influence of red K and hid in Clark's barn? Then when Clark went up to the loft Pete dances out from behind some boxes and sorta' sings "Why'd your Dad call my parents?" It was hilarious and out of place.

Ah well, serves him right. No one forced him to do it!

Cant say I was ever too upset when he left Smallville but his chracter was occasionally quite good especially after finding out Clark's secret - even though that story got boring after a while!

One of those actors that thought he could do better on his own in movies. He came back a couple of seasons ago and the show was about him getting in trouble and Clark saving him. So much for that happening, he was always bad on the show.

Well, Im always sad to see the Hollywood sellouts. Not sure why he left Smallville (or if the studio tossed him), but he did land on his feet with "ER" on NBC, then again he played the gay brother of Mekhi Phifer. Later he had a bigger role on "ER" but of all things the show ended.

Damn he pretty much F**k himself :(
He got super cut up while on ER.

For some reason I see them giving him a medium slap on the wrist... probation and maybe 18 months in a LA jail. I bet they dont toss him in Gen Pop.

Damn...going to jail over pain pills....

so what about Kristin Kreuk shes not full white as Lana Lang in the comics. Kristin Kreuk is half white and Chinese and she played Lana Lang no issue there.

plus you guys forget that Tim Burton Batman had Billy Dee Williams a black man casted as Harvey Dent. its not like white actors never played black or asian based characters on film. i.e. The King of Fighters live action movie Sean Faris is going to play a japanese character Kyo Kusanagi.or even Angelina Jolie who starred in "A Mighty Heart" this is based on a true of a black/mixed race woman no one did not complain about she was casted cause of diversity.

anyway Sam Jones was good in ER i dont know why he did that to himself i guess acting pay check must be really bad.

Affirmative Action casting? Haha theres a new one. No I'm pretty sure, as said before, they just want more diversity. I'm sure Smallville, despite being in rural Kansas, would not likely be filled with only white people like the early comics depicted. Mostly, yeah, but not exclusively. Star Wars was in its own universe so you cant say the same thing there. I dont see the issue with that. If it were superman... than yeah, but small characters like Pete? Nah.

i agree with you if Superman was played by a black man that wont make sense.

but i remember people complain that Nick Fury is not black. but he is black in the Ultimate universe that Marvel Comics created. also the KingPin situation casting Michael Clarke Duncan to play the character was a issue at first but he does esembled the character stature plus the studio tried to find a white actor to play the role but there is no white actor that size in Hollywood.

Pete Ross being black was one of the few good creative aspects that came out of Smallville, it just seemed to work (admittedly I was annoyed when I first heard of the casting way back when)..

The best has to be its take on Lex though.. Oh and Lionel Luthor!

Yea dont get me wrong I love America,but we have people entering the country illegally every day breaking or laws and in turn we take care of them. Then you take a guy selling a few pills...upper's,downers,steriods whatever and we lock them up for a decade or so.

Lock up for a year or give them a hefty fine and be done with. Let's spend a little time and effort correcting real problems like illegal aliens and their impact on our schools,health-care,care insurance and I could go on. those of you living in California know exactly what Im talking about.

Anyway smooth move Pete I know people who'd give one of their limbs to have the oppurtunity you seem to be pissing away with this BONEHEAD move.
