Star Trek Deleted Scene Featuring Klingons!

Remember Nero saying "The wait is over" in the previews but not in the movie? Well, AICN have that pretty awesome scene that was from...
This scene shows Romulan Nero in Klingon captivity on Rura Penthe (the prison planet Kirk & McCoy went to in Star Trek VI). His captors are Klingons(apparently!) but we don't get to see their faces because of those pesky helmets..anyway, enjoy.

Star Trek - DVD Bonus Footage

The scene is from the DVD/Blu-Ray of Star Trek, coming soon

sweet, can't wait for this dvd
thwhtGuardian - 10/28/2009, 7:24 PM
Awesome, I can't wait for the sequel.
antz1104 - 10/28/2009, 7:57 PM
It's probably a good thing they cut the scene out, because hardcore fans would have questioned how a miner beat up three Klingon warriors so easily.

Still, it was a cool scene.
stopdropandroll - 10/28/2009, 8:09 PM
I've got a KLINGON on my A$$ hairs!! : D
LEEE777 - 10/28/2009, 8:09 PM
How does that make any sense?
KelRaeMora - 10/28/2009, 8:11 PM
Who knows???! ; D
LEEE777 - 10/28/2009, 8:30 PM
he's a romulan miner though, with rage beyond comprehension.
thwhtGuardian - 10/28/2009, 8:31 PM
The Klingons who guard this prison are apparently the worst guards ever since bones and Kirk escaped in VI and now they got thier ass kicked by a romulan miner. Worst guards ever!!!
superdog - 10/28/2009, 8:46 PM
Maybe he was a Gamma radiated Romulan.
stopdropandroll - 10/28/2009, 8:50 PM
WELL THE GUY LOST HIS WIFE, HE'S ANGRY, AND HE SEEMS TO HAVE THAT"IM NOT GONNA TAKE YOUR SHIT" ATTITUDE..TO HAVE THE DRIVE TO TAKE HIS SEVERE VENGANCE TO DESTROY PLANET VULCAN DEFFINITELLY SAYS, DONT MESS WITH THIS GUY.
GUNSMITH - 10/28/2009, 9:17 PM
Is there any TREKKIES here????!

Coz im lost! : D
LEEE777 - 10/28/2009, 9:26 PM
Klingons are a warrior race. They have a saying, 'Today is a good day to die!' Klingons live to fight and die in battle.

Romulans are also a warrior race (related to Vulcans) but the Romulan in the video is a miner.

Hope that helps.
stopdropandroll - 10/28/2009, 9:33 PM
have you ever seen a human miner? I think I'd rather mess with a marine than a miner. Marines are probably one of the finest fighting forces in the world, but at the end of the day they got lives to go back to, miners have nothing but the mine they have nothing to lose, they're big, poor and desperate and you can't beat that.
thwhtGuardian - 10/28/2009, 10:19 PM
I like that scene but I'm glad they left it out. Wish teh Klingons didn't have helmets though. What was the need in them?
TheAnswer - 10/28/2009, 10:21 PM
Oh and Lee I'm a Trekie! :D
TheAnswer - 10/28/2009, 10:22 PM
Don't get me wrong. I liked the scene. I was saying that the harecore Trekkers would have a problem with it.

As far as I'm concerned, the moment the movie did the whole timeline change, everything was opened to new interpretation in my book.

stopdropandroll - 10/28/2009, 10:40 PM
You could be a miner, Klingon, Marine or Martha freakin' Stewart. . your 'Warrior Ethos' is irrelevant when you take into account a desperate enemy who has the element of surprise.

Don't forget, the most well trained fighters tend to suffer from complacency and overconfidence.

MultiPurposePoni - 10/28/2009, 10:52 PM
My sentiments exactly.
And I for one liked the masks. Undoubtedly Abrams put them in masks because he wasn't sure if his Klingons should have the TOS look or the current look. I hope to see more of them in the next movie.
thwhtGuardian - 10/28/2009, 11:19 PM
@Multi
Vary true. even Bruce Lee said sometimes you get so buried in technique you hesitate for a moment in combat and a lesser experienced fighter destroys you. He practiced something called Mushin no shin (no mind) where you literally forget all the technique you know and allow your body to simply react, as it would say, if you stuck your hand under scalding water. You don't think about it for a second, your body does it for you.

This is how a miner could have beaten three Klingon guards. That and the element of surprise can give a man a massive advantage. Any smart soldier/cop/martial artist knows this.

Lets also not forget he was so seething red with anger he literally destroyed a planet without thinking of the billions of innocent lives on it for the sake of revenge against one single man. You gotta be pissed beyond an ability to measure, perhaps to madness.
gtrman - 10/29/2009, 12:41 AM
Oh, and as a fan of Trek, I am glad they left this out. The scene would have served better as a reference instead so movie-goers knew what he was doing for those 25 years while waiting for Spock. Apparently he was in Rura Penthe, but I kinda already knew this. I post at Trekmovie.com from time to time :)

YEAH, IM A NERD! WHUT?
gtrman - 10/29/2009, 12:45 AM
Hey if someone was gonna stuff a [frick]ing bug in any of my orifaces I would kick the living shit out of him, even if he has ten friends wearing dath vader/predator masks!
wards - 10/29/2009, 2:41 AM
@GTRMAN- i always ass-umed that Nero went fabric gatheing on the weekends just to pass the time. Hey i love Pork Spare Ribs in the summer and a smokey Beer Backed Glaze. Call me ol' fashioned. Hey i miss summer already!

We are going snowboarding in a few... but first we must dance the dance of "cold Earth" ! join me in a stomp! praise EARTH
shibazz - 10/29/2009, 2:45 AM
@gtrman: It's funny we're talking about aggression because I just had to apprehend a wannabe MMA fighter last night after he beat the crap out of his girlfriend. I honestly think 90% of the guys today that say they practice MMA don't know what the hell they are talking about LOL
MultiPurposePoni - 10/29/2009, 5:46 AM
i hate the way the scene was shot. i could not tell what was happening.
grif - 10/29/2009, 6:00 AM
Wanna talk about a vague scene. How do we know it's a Klingon. It's just a POS of a helmet.
SirPrize - 10/29/2009, 7:35 AM
i didn't know it was a klingon either - until this clip hit the net. i saw the scene at the scream awards. it makes complete sense though - cause the ridges in the helmets match their heads etc. It's def. klingons without saying it is.

cool scene though. it should've stayed in the film.
Keven - 10/29/2009, 8:33 AM
Domestic disturbance calls are the worst. Sometimes you arrest the bastard, he struggles, and while you're kicking his ass, the effing GIRLFRIEND jumps you. And yeah, those bs mma fighter wanna-be's are all full of testosterone and god knows what other soup is running through their veins. All piss and vinegar and no brains. They should take martial arts first to learn inner peace and respect for people first.
gtrman - 10/29/2009, 10:59 AM
@gtrman: Unfortunately that's very true. So far I've had TWO jackasses pull the 'Don't f*ck with me! I'm a MMArtist' this year. It's sad really. It seems like practicing that 'sport' automatically gives you the right to be a douche bag
MultiPurposePoni - 10/29/2009, 11:19 AM
don't hate on the sport of mma because some white trash fcuk bags that couldn't impress their parents in highschool football are now jumping in. MMA has been around forever - and the best in the game (most of the best) - aren't stupid in the least.

gtrman can suck GSP's peen.
Keven - 10/29/2009, 12:12 PM
While this scene wouldn't really work with the whole movie, it does establish Nero as a badass. In Star Trek: TNG, Worf was always getting beat up. Romulans are more calculating. So, this makes sense. Yes, I'm a Trekkie. No cos-play though!
Upupandaway - 10/29/2009, 12:25 PM
@Keven: I didn't say I hate the sport, did I? I said that the people I've run in to that practice it seem to act like douche bags.

And FYI, MMA was established as a sport in 1993. That's hardly 'forever'.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/29/2009, 12:49 PM
@multipurposePoni.......lol.....No - no it wasn't established as a sport in 1993 - the UFC may have been established in the early 90's - but mixed martial arts dates back to being one of the earliest types of fighting - like ancient greece style my friend. That and the Gracie family has been practicing mixed martial arts for over 80 years. it's been around forever - it just blew up in it's freak show days of the early 90's when dudes with mullets would fight 500 pound sumo wrestlers.

mma is the oldest form of hand to hand combat man.
Keven - 10/29/2009, 1:19 PM
I believe this is a klingon ridges on his forehead. I still don't like this alternate timline thing. Should have stuck with the current timeline.

Iam not really big on MMA- more interested in K-1, but I do respect the sport, But just like all martial artist like myself should no better. Acting all Billy bad ass gets you know where.
Spock - 10/29/2009, 1:20 PM
the real issue at hand here though is that gtrman looks like a dude that's been on 'to catch a predator' - where is justice?!? WHERE IS JUSTICE FOR ALL?!
Keven - 10/29/2009, 1:20 PM
@ multi

isn't the war in iraq a good example of that?? marines die in iraq nearly every day, because they are fighting a desparate enemy.
CorndogBurglar - 10/29/2009, 1:30 PM
no now its afghanistan. and al quadas not desperate there fcking crazy
superdog - 10/29/2009, 1:52 PM
@Keven: Sorry bud, do your research. the term 'Mixed Martial Arts' is defined as a 'Full contact, combat sport' and was coined in 1993. That is indisputable fact.

The Gracie family established Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which is their personal derivative of Kodokan Jiu Jitsu but incorporates Judo and wrestling. They started hosting the Vale Tudo martial arts tournaments around the early 1900s.

Bruce Lee is arguably the most renown individual to create his own style of mixed martial arts fighting.

I believe what you are trying to say is that mixing martial arts fighting styles has been around for centuries. But the earliest documented fighting discipline is called Pankration and it originated in Greece.

@CDB: Excellent point :) But like superdog said, those guys are just plain nuts. The worst person to face off against in battle is a zealot.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/29/2009, 1:53 PM
i think banes character could be described as a zealot for revenge. so everyone has a point. but i think 3 klingons would kick his ass. but it is a movie after all.
superdog - 10/29/2009, 2:02 PM
@Multi

Pankration is a mixed martial arts developed by the greeks. It was a kind of "anything goes" form of competition. The term "MMA" wasn't coined until modern times, but Pankration is essentially MMA. What we call "MMA" now, was called Pankration back in that time. Rules and techniques were obviously different, but the concept remains the same.

MMA has yet to be legitimized as a sport by the IOC, but organized MMA competitions have been around for many many year. Regardless, MMA fighters and promoters have always considered it a sport.

@Keven

The Gracies were never really a strong advocate of MMA. They relied on only one style - their BJJ. They did compete in tournaments where any style could be used, but they never actually practiced/learned multiple styles until quite recently. If you remember, Royce Gracie was always trying to prove that BJJ was the most dominant style of martial arts by competing in the early UFC tournaments. Eventually guys like Frank Shamrock and Mark Coleman began to catch on to his BJJ, and they would incorporate those techniques into their own syle. That's when we truly saw the birth of modern mixed martial arts. When that happened, Gracie was no longer as dominant as he originally was, and even he had to adapt and learn different techniques in order to remain competitive.
Macksimus - 10/29/2009, 2:48 PM
And cock fighters consider their trade a sport too, not dissing mma but the fact that they consider themselves a legitimate sport is of little consequence. Much in the same way as saying that I believe myself to be a legitimate writer doesn't make it any more likely that my writing will be taken more seriously by publishers.

I think I'd have more respect for them if they just came out and said, "Hey, we're going to bring out a couple of really lethal guys and they're going to beat the crap out of each other for your viewing pleasure."

thwhtGuardian - 10/29/2009, 3:05 PM
@Macks: Oh, I understand the history of it. But the fact is the when someone uses the term 'Mixed Martial Arts' as it's own, defined form, they need to understand that it is relatively new. The philosophy behind mixing forms of combative styles has been around for thousands of years, but they were never defined as 'Mixed Martial Arts'.

To hell with it, look at my costume :)

MultiPurposePoni - 10/29/2009, 3:11 PM
@multi

That's what I was trying to convey, too.

..and yeah, that costume does kick ass. Well done!
Macksimus - 10/29/2009, 3:14 PM
Very nice deleted scene and Nero is so badass!

I hope theres more Klingons (without the masks) in the sequel
dancingmonkey08 - 10/29/2009, 4:21 PM
I've been having this great idea lately for a way to tie the alternate timeline thing to the original series.

In the sequel, all of the characters should have ghotees. Never really say it, but that would make this alternate timeline universe, the alternate evil universe from the series. Kinda like the original series, but a little more brutal. It ruins it if you make it obvious or say it straight out, but it would be a great little egg for the fans.
STOOPUDR - 10/29/2009, 10:00 PM
@Keven
One more uneducated crack out of you and I'm gunna switch from f**king your mom in the ass to f**king your sister in her ass.

And for being our new supermike, I'm hiding your dildo.
gtrman - 10/29/2009, 10:08 PM
@Keven
Incidentally, having taken martial arts off and on for most of my 40 years, I would never crack on MMA as either a legitimate sport or self defense art. If you'd bothered to read my post, you would have seen that. It's hidden in the plain English when I spoke of the mma "wanna-be's".

@multi
when you argue with a retarded person, you get pulled down deep into a hole that's hard to climb out of. Just let him go
gtrman - 10/29/2009, 10:13 PM
Damn Stupid Custard headed cruel muthf...
OhMyGod - 10/29/2009, 10:19 PM
In regards to the time line change: I believe Spock Prime jumped to another dimension. Time obviously ran a little slower in this dimension relative to Spock Prime's own dimension, thus accounting for the fact that it was about 100+ years behind the time of Spock Prime's orignal dimension. In other words, there was no time line change.
6of13 - 10/30/2009, 7:48 AM
6of13 - basically the same thing I was saying. I just want a small nod to show that it is the evil universe of the series. No mention, just some facial hair, we will all know what it means.

Think about it - Kirks dad killed, Vulcan destroyed, etc - could lead to a darker or more evil version of the original show. Again, not totally evil, just more evil than the original universe.
STOOPUDR - 10/30/2009, 11:07 AM
twG-
What legitimizes MMA (UFC for example) over cock fights is that they have permits to fight in different states. For example, UFC had to establish more rules (thus not really making it SO ultimate after all) to accomodate such states as California that wanted more regulation within the sport. I don't think there's a state that permits cock fights (I don't know why, they're just chickens!). MMA is legit, just not overwhelmingly popular. Once boxing eventually dies out, I think MMA would eventually take its place.

About the new Star Trek (LOL)movie, I didn't like that Spock was as emotional as he was portrayed to be. His emotions on TOS were far more subtle which, IMO, made him more mysterious of a character. In some ways, more unpredictable. In this one, you can't talk about his mother! LOL
Phinehas - 10/30/2009, 11:09 AM
@Phin: Boxing is going to die out?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/30/2009, 11:32 AM
Please pardon my hyperbole. In terms of popularity it, MAY die as one of the top sports. But I don't think it would ever fall below LaCrosse.
Phinehas - 10/30/2009, 11:34 AM
Cool scene.
TonyDark - 10/31/2009, 1:18 AM
40 year old dude.......maybe older since people don't practice mma under 5 years old....i hope....

You rule.

And of course I didn't read your post - I'm too good for your post - I exceed your post.

I love all the wikipedia entries on MMA here.....Jesus - you win - please go research gtrman now and give me a list of facts on how he can't possibly be fcuking kids with a picture like that.

lol.......ahhhh, I haven't had a good feud in quite some time. I kinda like this one.
