UPDATE: TDKR: Big Action Sequence, Joseph Gordon Levitt & Diego Klattenhoff Spotted On Set

Bit of a round up of the latest updates from the London set of The Dark Knight Rises. UPDATE: We now have some more details of Levitt's appearance on set, as he was sighted in his character's GCPD gear..

Those living around or near the St Johns Street area in London might want to grab their cameras and get down there asap. Word is that there will be some type of action sequence shooting today. This report comes from HollywoodChicago.com..

Security has told me if we want to see something we should come after 2 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday). They said we would most likely see something. I reckon the big action sequence will be tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon.

Chris Nolan came out on Monday at 2 p.m. to sign autographs. Also, Diego Klattenhoff was sighted today (Tuesday) wearing a blue Gotham Police Department uniform. This is 100% confirmed by crew on his way to lunch.

And the skuttlebut in Twitterland(in other words, not confirmed!)is that Joseph Gordon Levitt was also seen exiting St. Johns Street set via BMW. Kalttenhoff is a Canadian actor, probably best known to CBMers for appearances in Smallville and Supernatural. He was rumored to be a part of the movie and this would seem to confirm it. Apparently he is playing a "rookie cop".

UPDATE: Some more details of JGL's sighting on set from fakediy.co.uk

Gordon-Levitt pulled up to the set, presumably for costume fitting, as he left approx. one hour later in his Gotham PD uniform, clearly visible through the car window. Alas, the security would probably have smashed my camera into a thousand pieces if I had whipped it out. He is playing John Blake, a "Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon." Sadly, Gary Oldman wasn't spotted while we were there.

Interestingly, two black cabs left the building with black cloth taped to the windows. Maybe Batman can't fit into a BMW comfortably in costume? Nolan was one of the last to leave in the evening, barely visible through the tinted windows. His wife and longterm producer Emma Thomas wasn't as shy, happily walking down St John's Street on foot. We would've said hi, but she was on the phone.

There 's more too. Christopher Nolan and co may be off to Croydon next! A report from ThislocalLondon.co.uk states that a building in the area has been scheduled for demolition..

One of Croydon’s landmark buildings is facing a Hollywood-style destruction as caped crusader Batman swings into town for his latest multimillion-dollar movie.

..But the action has since moved to Croydon, with Delta Point near West Croydon station marked for a computerised demolition as part of the new movie.

There is a lot of news and(as yet pretty unrevealing) set pics pouring in for this hugely anticipated movie. Shouldn't be too long before we catch a glimpse of one of the main cast members.

Nothing will beat the quality and the level of realism that Nolan brings to batman and his comic book movie, and I doubt a quality director like Nolan will ever come aboard another CBM simply because CBMs are very fantasy like and hard to ground.(I thought wolverine 2 might get a quality director but that didn't happen because characters like batman wolverine need such dramatic directors to bring the best out of them)because they have these shades of gray that very few directors can handle in an expert manner.

I think comic book movies mood should vary with the character and for batman Nolan is the perfect fit.Cannot imagine a superman, ironman or spiderman with such serious tones but for batman it's perfect and ideal platform to make not only just a CBM but a great crime drama (TDK)

GENERALLY COMIC BOOK MOVIE DIRECTORS ARE LIKE MICHAEL BAY type, good with big action sequences and entertainment but do not have enough capability to handle delicate human emotions, complex human interactions and psychology.for Nolan it's always about complexity (Inception, memento, prestige, insomnia etc,no other CBM DIRECTOR HAS DIRECTED SUCH COMPLEX MOVIES)so for him batman is this guy who walks the thin line of good and bad with a very dark side and a tormented soul.Nolan is best in handling such characters. It is also why his batman movies garner Oscar recognition than other CBMs because it's grounded as much as possible.

yes others are lighter in tone, funny has cheesy one liners but like harry potter will remain as fantasy movies and niche to a particular audience.(x men, ironman,GL,THOR whatever it is)

I would say when people watched TDK (even me) I didn't think it was fun fun,but rather awe inspiring amazement is what I felt(bout the story, acting, the motive behind jokers madness, the depth of character).when I watched ironman I thought it was a fun movie, same with transformers even batman begins to a certain extent was made as a typical CBM with some funny one liners etc but with TDK the emotions were different.Which is why I think it was able to reach such a vast audience. It is in a way the best approach to batman, they tried to make him fun in batman forever and batman & robin and I hated both of them.

But it is not the best approach for all superheros even if they wanted to because that is not just who they are, they are more fantasy based and hence should remain true to spirit.

this will be one hell of a movie and the best CBM next year.

for some reason i'm not that excited for this movie. I guess my expectations are so high i just assume i'm gonna be disappointed.
RunDTC - 5/18/2011, 9:14 AM
AUGH! I hate this crap! I put an article on here last night that JGL was spotted on set (it was tweeted by someone with DYI Films) and CBM pulled it because it was "known information". they just wanna post everything themselves.
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 5/18/2011, 9:55 AM
with the way Nolan surprises the audience i really still hope JGL will be the joker. i hope he is disguised as a GC cop but thru make up he covers his scars and hides his true identity ....The Joker. i have a feeling that would be the way to go with an actor who looks like Heath but maybe this is just wishful thinking.
JaySin420 - 5/18/2011, 11:36 AM
The only "genius" thing Nolan ever did was turn his back while Ledger was literally killing himself creating the greatest villain ever.

I'm sure if every director looked the other way while their actors did tons of drugs, every movie would be much better lol.

Im Waitin For A Tom Hardy Sighting.
l0rdleg0las - 5/18/2011, 12:51 PM
still bummed about Levitt's casting. he is way too good of an actor to be in some small almost nothing role. i really hope this is one of those times that the fans are right that his character as the cop is just a cover for more sinister motives
AaronX - 5/18/2011, 3:01 PM
@JaySin420 are you the kind of people who think heath kill himself by doing the Joker ? He died because he had insomnia LONG time ago he was cast as the Joker ...
dcbat - 5/18/2011, 7:13 PM
jaysin thats is the biggest load of shit i have heard on this site. you feel good about yourself after saying crap like that?
RyKnow - 5/19/2011, 1:34 AM
@ tea - I agree mate, that building HAS to be Talia, just has to be! Why else would they put a building in the film!!! LMAO!
RyKnow - 5/19/2011, 5:41 AM
@ Codiak92 - This Jaysin guy probably reads stuff in tabloids and takes it as gospel. Suckers generally do.
And if he knew anything, he'd know that Heath Ledger had completed The Dark Knight, and was in the middle of filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when he died. And unfortunately, some nerds don't even know the meaning of the word respect.
RunDTC - 5/19/2011, 8:48 AM
I'm with Codiak92 and RyKnow on the whole Ledger thing. Can we report someone for being a dumbass? I nominate Jaysin420
RyKnow - 5/19/2011, 9:13 AM
@ runDTC - I second the motion!
