TDKR: Could Bane Be A Sympathetic Villain?

TDKR: Could Bane Be A Sympathetic Villain? TDKR: Could Bane Be A Sympathetic Villain?

A source from the set of TDKR has contacted me with some interesting information that may pertain to Bane's (Tom Hardy) role as the villain of Christopher Nolan's Batman threequel..

Here is what I was told. Following on from the last scene description I gave you which saw Bane freed from a prison by the League Of Shadows..

A large team in black hoods storm a room holding Tom Hardy as Bane led by what looked like a young ra's and kill off some stragglers.

Well apparently he goes back in order to free 2 children that have also been imprisoned. For what reason my source did not know, that was pretty much all he had to add. But I found it very interesting. This is pure speculation but could we be dealing with a sympathetic villain like Spider-Man 2's Doc Ock? Or more recently Loki in Thor? I know these villains can come in for a criticism among fans but I personally feel it gives the character a bit of weight. Obviously it's nice to see an amoral bastard like The Joker from time to time too. But who knows, the children may have been important to the league for some reason and weren't rescued out of kindness. I was told that despite this one act Bane "Is definitely not very nice". I think blowing up a football stadium is already proof of that anyway, but I dunno, we could be dealing with bad guy with some kind of twisted moral code here.

What do you guys think?

Really do we really need to go through this again. Doctor Octopus Sandman had the same problem. It didn't work for them it isn't going to work for Bane.

This is why I'm glad Nolan decided to use Bane in his final Batman film. He's actually bringing a lot of depth into the character, unlike the primate that Shoemaker gave us.

Well I do hold a firm belief that the mask is actually an oxygen device.
If the thing reported a while back about his village being burnt is true, a lot of burn victim suffer lung damage from breathing in all that hot ash and smoke.
IT would also explain the way he talked. It sounded a lot like my grandfather who is on oxygen..

Lol Bane looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to small, there is nothing to discuss about and to all people that are argueing with "A guy like Bane can't exicst in the real world" of course he can, they should take Dwayne The Rock Johnson for this movie. This Guy is a ten times better Actor then Tom Hardy and he got the muscles and the height to play bane, also he got this latin look. Watch him at the fast and the furious 5, that type of body would be perfect for Bane.

And if a guy like Dwayne don't fit in your "real world" how does it a clown with green hair in a purple coat?!?!?!?!

I wonder if either of those 2 kids he rescued turned out to be anybody special?

It'd be funny seeing a little kid Joker in prison.

Listen kids. Bane is no longer the one dimensional brute that he once was. He has grown into a more interesting character. I have a feeling that some people havent read anything since Knightfall. Also a layered and complex villain lends itself better to Nolan's movies. Someone who is very much like Bats but doesn't question the League and their tactics. Question: Would you rather have the Schumaker version or a different interpretation?

@Brock well, perhaps Schumachers version of Bane was acting like a retarded Monkey, but at least this Version really looked like Bane, everyone knows here the movie is not going to be 100% Comic, BUT that's no excuse, for Bane looking like a Actor of the new "Hobbit" movie!

This movie will be overrated just like the dark knight was. Its sad that DC's Cinematic universe acts like a wounded horse that needs to be put down. There seems to be a excess amount of "creativity" in the DC / Warner Bros Movies. Some of that is splashing on the Marvel movies but not as bad. Well more in the case of the Amazing Spider-man with his costume what the hell?

Bane is evil cause he born and raised in very tough prison. The prison made him monster.

"Life couldn’t be any worse for the child who would be known as Bane. Born and raised within the harsh prison known as Pena Duro (“Hard Rock”), Caribbean Republic of Santa Prisca, Bane’s reasons for imprisonment would be because of his father that he never knew.

Which that man would be known as Edmund Dorrence AKA King Snake. Edmund was known to be a revolutionary within Santa Prisca who managed to escape imprisonment and have the corrupt government charge Edmunds crimes onto his unborn child.

Life grew hellish for the child after being born as he feared the violent nature within the prison, fearing that each day may be his last. Protected by both Zombie and Trogg who were also inmates within the prison, the childs survival was still at stake. Bane developed a strong survival sense from a vision he gained after getting attacked. The child finally found the courage to kill while he was confronted by one of the inmates - using a knife hidden within his teddy bear.

Gaining the wrong attention by the Warden and taken into an isolation cell for his murders, the child realized that courage, dedication, and strengthening of both mind and body were his only ways to survive. Calling himself Bane, he trained his body through the harshest environments when his isolation cell flooded during some nights. Upon his release from isolation, Bane continued his intense training while studying whatever literature he found within the prison. Self-taught within the fields of strategy, philosophy, languages, math, grammar, and more, Bane developed into the ultimate killing machine that even the guards found themselves fearing.

It would be the stories from another inmate about a monster with Gotham City known as the Batman where Bane would gain the sense of connection and purpose within his life to kill this myth. For the Warden to rid himself of Bane, the prison nominated him to participate in an experiment to create a super powered soldier with a steroid like drug known as Venom. Injecting the Venom into Banes brain, he almost died from the straining results. Believing him to be dead, Bane was tossed into the sea and managed to be revived. Returning to the prison, Bane held the Warden hostage while escaping by means of a helicopter and killing off the Warden later on. With his inmate friends escaping alongside with him, Bane decided pursue his destiny by hunting down this Batman and fulfill his life goals by killing him."
