THE AVENGERS To Be Released In India Before The US?

Apparently Joss Whedon's highly anticipated superhero team up movie will hit India a full week before the United States..

Release dates seem to cause a bit of a stir here on CBM, even when it's just a few days in the difference. But It seems that India will get to sample (arguably) the most anticipated CBM of all time before the the US, on the same day the Brits do. At least according to Zeenews.india.com..






New Delhi: American superhero film "Avengers" will release in India April 27 next year, a week before its release in the US.

In India, the marketing plan for the film will include a roll-out with UTV network and Disney network hosting "Avengers" trailer roadblock on the channel at 6.15 p.m. Sunday.


This seems to be on the level and is being reported by various other sites, but of course without confirmation it's just hearsay. Either way it's not exactly a big deal, but interesting nonetheless. Anyone fancy booking flights to India?

This is not a smart move for marvel at all. What is marvel thinking?

I didn't care where it came out first because could care less how fast or who gets to see it first. I just want to watch it when ever it comes out.

Maybe they think nothing can hurt their hype???

Ok, I didnt mind UK. But India... really?! In a population where they keep building hotels and putting attractions up to increase their tourism but it doesnt hide of the fact that half those hotels are almost completely empty almost all the time and people in their own country are suffering fro homeslessness and arent really doing much about it. Hell, it's not like their law is really stopping people from pirating foreign films. This shits gonna ruin everything. Marvel, you're getting closer and closer to losing me as your fanboy -_-

Guys, it's being released in most international countries a week earlier. This happens all the time and it's not really anything new. Not sure why is everyone acting like it's the end of the world or something. Calm down.

it should have a worldwide release but it is only five days,you did get captain america before everyone else & most marvel films make more money overseas than america.

Aklash: Of course. Studios really don't care anymore for US gross alone at all. A lot of films proved that. I mean Avengers will be released ONLY a couple of days earlier internationally, not a big deal. I mean arguing with someone about this news is just weird. Haha.
