Fancy A Clue As To What The Other 2014 MARVEL Movie Might Be?..

Latino Review's El Mayimbe claims to know what other movie (aside from Captain America 2) Marvel will be bringing us in 2014. He just tweeted the following clue..

BIG CLUE: This unseen Marvel character has been alluded to in the phase one Marvel films! Let speculation begin!

Now first off, it should be noted that the Latino review boys seem to have a great line to the goings on at Marvel, and frequently land big scoops (check out their recent Iron Man 3 coverage) so I'm inclined to believe El Mayimbe does indeed know the title of this movie. But that being said, that isn't really a great clue all the same! Quite a few characters have had "Easter Eggs" dotted around the phase-one Marvel movies. The most prominent, and obvious, ones have probably been Black Panther and Namor however. Panther has already been mentioned as being a potential future movie project by Marvel, but we haven't heard too much (at least officially) regarding Namor. While the above clue opens up a few possibilities, we might be able to rule out a couple of others from it. Although Ant-Man seems a likely candidate with Edgar Wright claiming to be gearing up to direct this year, to my knowledge there hasn't actually been any references to the character (he was originally mentioned in the Thor script but didn't make the cut) in any other Marvel movies - likewise Guardians Of The Galaxy and Dr Strange who have also been mentioned before as possibilities. Also, since we know it will be a previously unseen character, we can rule out any of those Nick Fury, Black Widow and Hawkeye solo spin-offs we have been hearing about. Anyway, hopefully we will get a few more clues to help us piece this together, for now sound off on who you think could be making the jump from page to screen in 2014 below.

It's obviously going to be Doctor Strange
PaulRom - 6/5/2012, 9:10 AM
Ant-Man, Namor or Black Panther. Calling it now.
Hellsing - 6/5/2012, 9:15 AM
Hopefully Black Panther or Doc Strange its time marvel studio's started taking risks while all these sequels will hopefully good and all so far phase two seems rather safe and tame. Hell with the amount of money its made I'm pretty sure they could make any amount of movie they wanted too.

And why is this twitter user being cited has he revealed some sort of major scoop in the past or something.
Vision91 - 6/5/2012, 9:16 AM
Antman seeing as he was mentioned in thor
SuperDude001 - 6/5/2012, 9:19 AM
I hoped Doctor Strange but with that clue I'm guessing Ant-Man or Black Panther.
Hellsing - 6/5/2012, 9:24 AM
Ant-Man is unlikely since Wrights busy with End of the World the moment, so I doubt it. Panther would be much more daring and great to see. A superhero movie set in Africa
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 9:28 AM
The only heroes I know have references (of some sort) within the other movies are...

1. The Black Panther

2. Namor

3. The original Human Torch...BUT he has actually been seen (not alluded to.)

4. Union Jack

5. The Winter Soldier....BUT even though we did see him as Bucky, his WS persona has had no reference.

Dr. Strange has not been mentioned that I know of and although Pym was mentioned in the THOR script, his name drop did not appear in the film.
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 9:31 AM
Oh! I forgot about the Spider-Man cameo in The Avengers.
SageMode - 6/5/2012, 9:32 AM
BLACK PANTHER. I'm calling it
thatdylhooper - 6/5/2012, 9:37 AM
Where were all these people mentioned im phase one exactly?
RorMachine - 6/5/2012, 9:42 AM
Good thing I never said it was news, and merely asked if you guys wanted a clue isn't it? I swear to God if you had brains you'd be dangerous.
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 9:43 AM
Seeing as how they did show the Original Human Torch in the previous films, you can add The Vision to list of those alluded to.
80sFace - 6/5/2012, 9:48 AM
Nice clue, Ror. So Panther or Namor, if this is right.

Namor = The Rock

Panther = Chiwetel Ejiofor
jazzman - 6/5/2012, 9:49 AM
sounds more like Black Panther

he has been hinted in

Iron Man 2

The map in Africa show Wakanda. also in Iron Man 2 novelization the new element was Vibranium. it was not mention in the movie only in Iron Man 2 novelization.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Vibranium is named Captain America: The First Avenger.
marvel72 - 6/5/2012, 9:49 AM
out of all them i would say black panther,vibranium has been an easter egg in a few films.

would love to see a cable film,i just don't think fox would do him justice.
jazzman - 6/5/2012, 9:52 AM
@Hawksblueyes

u cant add Vision without hinting Ultron
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 9:53 AM
thatdylhooper: Both Wakanda and Atlantis are referenced on maps in IM2 (Black Panther and Namor.)Also vibranium is used throughout the films (Black Panther.)

Jim Hammond aka The Original Human Torch's android body is seen on display at the Stark Expo in CATFA. His body was later used in creating The Vision.

James Montgomery Falsworth aka Union Jack was on of the Howling Commando's in CATFA, although his hero name was never used and we never seen him in costume.

Bucky aka the Winter Soldier, was in CATFA.

Hope that Helped.

While I'm at it.....Doctor Leonard Samson aka Doc Samson appears in TIH (before his transformation of course.)
6of13 - 6/5/2012, 9:53 AM
Please let it be the Black Panther. I am seriously thinking it must be BP because with a Cap movie in the same year plus with Cap's shield being composed of Vibranium...it's like 1+1

The most obvious references were:
• Vibranium shield = Wakanda/Black Panther reference
• Oracle Industries = Namor reference

Less than obvious references were (blink and you'll miss it):
• Original Human Torch in Cap
• Pym in Thor

I am sorry, but I don't recall seeing a Doc Strange reference. Also, in Avengers there was an Oracle Industries logo at the Nasa scene as well as a SUN logo. Anyone know who or what SUN is referencing 'cos I am not so sure?
erth2drew - 6/5/2012, 9:53 AM
its black panther, he is the only one mentioned in phase one of the MMU
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 9:55 AM
jazzman: Although I wish you were right about that, however, there are few alternate reality versions where Stark creates Vision.
steverogersbro - 6/5/2012, 9:56 AM
Is this guy really an editor? What a pointless article!!
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 9:57 AM
6of13: i forgot about the Oracle references.

Where was Pym mentioned in the THOR film? He was in the script but deleted from the film.
erth2drew - 6/5/2012, 9:57 AM
why dont we all just wait and find out!!
SageMode - 6/5/2012, 9:58 AM
niknik - 6/5/2012, 9:59 AM
Panther and Namor are the only ones that fit that criteria. Having been alluded to but not seen. The ONLY ones. Of those two I have to guess the Black Panther would be more able to support a solo project.

It really should be Ant-Man\Giant-Man though. Should have been referenced and even appeared by now as far as Marvel continuity requires. Long overdue. Hawkeye and Black Widow were lame alongside the other Avengers. Nothing more than Shield agents. Should have used Giant-Man and Wasp instead.

Ryden - 6/5/2012, 9:59 AM
It's either Ant-Man or Doc Strange. Ant-Man for obvious reasons, Doc Strange WAS alluded to in Thor. Remember Odin's room?

http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Thor-Movie-Eye-of-Agamotto.jpg

Eye of Agamotto. I think his Orb was there too.
jazzman - 6/5/2012, 10:01 AM
@Hawksblueyes

Tony in the films has not hinted in creating Vision.
ThaMessenger07 - 6/5/2012, 10:04 AM
@ Gusto LMAO!

I Don't know who it's gonna be, I'm sadly leaning towards Ant-Man, but that would be good news for Avengers 2 :)
MARVELPSYCHO79 - 6/5/2012, 10:04 AM
Black Panther!!!
JatevinM - 6/5/2012, 10:04 AM
Doctor Strange
6of13 - 6/5/2012, 10:04 AM
Here is Wakanda (no CGI necessary). This is the Palace of the Lost City at Sun City here in South Africa and it looks exactly like Wakanda. Plus there is a game reserve 10 minutes drive, so it has everything to stand in for Wakanda.

Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 10:05 AM
Ryden: If you're talking about the following object, it was Warlocks Eye not The Eye of Agamotto. I don't remember the Orb either.

jessepostal - 6/5/2012, 10:05 AM
I personally think there gonna do a nick fury movie, dive into the spy world and his origin. Add a little dum dum Dugan and show the start of shield. They left a lot of secrets to be desired with fury in the avengers
OdinsBeard - 6/5/2012, 10:06 AM
Strange was hinted at. The eye of agamotto (spl?) was shown in Thor. that's as big of a reference, if not bigger than panther and namor got.
OdinsBeard - 6/5/2012, 10:07 AM
oh wait nvm hawksblue has proven me wrong.
jazzman - 6/5/2012, 10:08 AM
@Ryden

sorry but that not Dr Strange hint at all. thats not the Eye of Agamotto. the producers of Thor has confirmed it long time ago.

that was actually the Warlock's Eye part of Thor comics.

heres the link: http://screenrant.com/thor-movie-odins-vault-artifacts-rob-115931/all/1/

jessepostal - 6/5/2012, 10:08 AM
Plus wasn't ant man already green lit? I don't think they would be keeping it a secret if it was
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 10:09 AM
jazzman: You're right. He hasn't hinted at it BUT he is in possession of Visions original body (it was at his fathers expo.) He has hinted at LMD's (AI).

And last but not least, he does have another film coming out before this mystery film. He could very well create The Vision to assist him with whatever he has coming up in his film. He has already created Jarvis. All he has to do is do it again and place that intelligence in a body.
Shaman - 6/5/2012, 10:09 AM
Wait... if they state that he's been alluded to in the previous marvel filmSSSSSS... that means more than once and/or in more than one film. Correct me if i'm wrong but the ONE thing that's been recurring is vibranium. That would lead directly to Black Panther.
jazzman - 6/5/2012, 10:09 AM
@JatevinM

cant be Dr Strange he was never hinted in none of the movies. it was Warlock's Eye not Eye of Agamotto in Thor.
2Challa - 6/5/2012, 10:10 AM
@6 of 13 That's perfect for Wakanda. Black Panther is my favorite Marvel character.
Gmoney84 - 6/5/2012, 10:10 AM
ORACLE is a real life company. It's not the Oracle from the comics. They are real.
6of13 - 6/5/2012, 10:11 AM
@Hawksblueeyes: Unless I am remembering wrong, didn't Selvig mention that he knows a guy when he and Jane Foster were sitting on the roof?
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 10:15 AM
6of13: Yes he did. However, that's all he says is that he knows a guy that may be able to help. In the script he says "I'll call PYM." In the movie he says "I'll call him." That is not a reference.
jazzman - 6/5/2012, 10:15 AM
@Hawksblueyes

but to be honest alot of people want Ultron to create The Vision.

@Shaman

also alot of people forget Quinjet was created by Wakanda Design Group headed by Black Panther in the comics
lntrn8 - 6/5/2012, 10:17 AM
@Ryden saw the image of The Eye:

http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Thor-Movie-Eye-of-Agamotto.jpg

If that is The Eye, the glyphs on the wall look very Steranko.
arbroathhiphop - 6/5/2012, 10:19 AM
http://blogs.coventrytelegraph.net/thegeekfiles/Iron%20Man%202%20mapshot1.jpg

From this scene at the end of Iron Man 2, I'd say it's either Namor or Black Panther. Whoever it is, I hope the reason they are keeping it secret is because they will have a lot to do with whatever events unfold in "Phase 2" of the MMU...
Hawksblueyes - 6/5/2012, 10:20 AM
jazzman: I said I want Ultron also but that doesn't mean we'll see him.
ralfinader - 6/5/2012, 10:21 AM
@SuperArgo - If they use Captain Marvel, I am betting it will be Carol Danvers, and not the original.
Dunejedi1 - 6/5/2012, 10:22 AM
I remember something in the last couple years about Daniel Dae Kim expressing interest in playing Namor, he would be PERFECT! Yes, I know Namor isn't asian. But seriously, his face/physique is perfect and he's a more than capable actor. The only reason I'm hoping it's Black Panther instead, is because of the Fox rights to the term 'Mutant'. That's a pretty big part of Namors character, I'd rather wait awhile until they renegotiate or revert rights back so they can include that angle.

Plus, Panther would be so dope as long as they don't eff with his costume.
