There have been whispers of a movie outing for The Inhumans for a while now, but I reckon that was around the time Marvel settled on Guardians Of The Galaxy for their first foray into the cosmic side of the MCU. We may see Black Bolt and his pals up on the big screen yet, but for now we have their debut on Marvel Knights DVD. Here is the cover and details thanks to Marvel.com..

Synopsis:

The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel's most enduring oddities. A race of genetic outsiders, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigen Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers--some extraordinary, some monstrous. But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt, repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defenses, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt's insane brother, Maximus the Mad? This popular series takes a classic Marvel cast of characters, and infuses it with a modern sensibility that includes international politics and an awareness of class systems. Dark and grimly compelling, the "Inhumans" is one story that won't be forgotten any time soon.

Bonus Features Include:

A Look Back At The Inhumans with Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Jenkins, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and Supervising Producer Kalia Cheng.

DrDoom - 1/29/2013, 10:51 AM
Sounds like a motion comic.

LordoftheThrones26 - 1/29/2013, 10:56 AM
This is Marvel ''testing the waters'' to see it the public will respond well to an Imhumans movie. I wouldn't be shocked if the dvd is a success that they announce a Ihumans movie for 2020 sometime in the near future!
KaneVonDoom - 1/29/2013, 10:57 AM
This'll be interesting. I'm excited.

Although, I'm pretty sure the Inhumans were in a few episodes of Fantastic Four so I don't think that would qualify as their first time.

Either way, Good find!

Could be cool. Hope it's better than most of their other animated movies

Marvel Knights Animation are always Motion Comics. I liked the Inhumans enough in the comics but I'm really glad they didnt proceed with a cinematic outing. I absolutely would not have been interested. I actually enjoy the motion comics. Its not the prettiest but its good nostalgia
ImnotDaredevil - 1/29/2013, 11:52 AM

siggisuperman - 1/29/2013, 11:54 AM
Yeah pretty sure this article is not right in saying

"The Inhumans in animated form for the very first time when they make their debut in a new Marvel Knights movie."

nr.1 They have been animated before, and
nr.2 I think this isn't a movie at all, probably a motion comic.
Triptheorist - 1/29/2013, 12:22 PM
Pony rides for everyone!
TerminalVoyd - 1/29/2013, 12:27 PM
Ah, another motion comic I see. Extremis' art actually translated really well into animation. It was a fluid translation from digital static art to motion art. While a hell of a lot of fun (thanks to the voice cast), Astonishing X-Men felt a lot closer to the 1966 Marvel Superheroes toons (which I still love with all my heart) in terms of one or two areas of comic panel in motion and not much else.

I haven't seen Black Panther or Thor and Loki: Blood Brothers yet (they're on my Amazon watch list), so I don't know how those turned out, but I'm hopeful. I think Jae Lee's could translate quite well.
BlueHawaiiSurfer - 1/29/2013, 12:32 PM
"Who's voicing the Black Bolt?" Bitch you almost made me laugh...ok you did make me laugh. ;)
Jollem - 1/29/2013, 12:37 PM

superpooper - 1/29/2013, 12:52 PM
Nice. This should be interesting.
VaCubFan - 1/29/2013, 12:55 PM
@Buddha29 - thanks, appreciate the info.. i've never kept up with them/the moving around, so do you mean "sometimes on the blue area of the moon, sometimes on Earth?"
MutantEquality - 1/29/2013, 1:02 PM
Keep it going. Marvel needs more practice anyway. Lets keep it up and do more and more.
MutantEquality - 1/29/2013, 1:03 PM
Dear Marvel,

if you are going to keep messing up my Xmen, will you PLEASE do an amazing full length animated Xmen movie? Please.

Signed,

MutantEquality
marvel72 - 1/29/2013, 1:06 PM

Equivocal - 1/29/2013, 1:29 PM
I agree with most of you guys, Marvel needs to improve their animation department !

does anybody know what story arc will be represented ????
WawelDragon - 1/29/2013, 1:37 PM
Bad idea, bring on Inhummans live-action movie in Phase 3, Marvel.
facehugger81 - 1/29/2013, 1:42 PM
Eddie Murphy for Black Bolt's voice!!

And welcome back Gusto! Nice to see you around once again
ThatFan - 1/29/2013, 2:23 PM
I REALLY hope its not a motion comic...
MisterMagurlypse - 1/29/2013, 4:35 PM
Cool news! A must have for me! Hopefully Fox can pull off a great reboot of the Fan Four, so that way maybe we will get a shot at a Namor and Inhumans live action flick. Marvel studios aren't seemingly interested in these properties at the moment.
