"Heroes" Going To The Carnival Next Season!

In an interview with MTV, Hayden Panettiere(Claire Bennet) mentioned a very interesting plot point for the next season of "Heroes"
MTV Movies Blog recently spoke with Heroes star Hayden Panettiere about the upcoming fourth season of the show.

"The next season of Heroes has a lot of characters that are coming in," says Panettierre, "There's something called The Carnival... which is kind of the opposite of what The Company was. There's a lot of new, cool characters."

There have been a spate of new actors signed on to the show, including Prison Break's Robert Knepper, who has recently signed on to portray the villian Samuel. According to Next On Heroes, it seems that Samuel is a carnival barker, and Ray Park is in talks to portray the mysterious knife-throwing carnival character.

I think this sounds like a cool idea! I don't think the last season of "Heroes" was up to much at all, it had some good episodes but over all it has to be seen as something of a disappointment. I still tuned in every week though. Hopefully this carnival thing will give the show the kick in the arse it needs!

Ror I actually found that the biggest problem with heroes is they added too many new characters. They strayed away from the core group and added a bunch of new heroes with no real point. Now there doing it again and maybe with even more characters. This actually worries me. Although the guy who played teabag scares the shit out of me

Robert Knepper should make HEROES juicy this season!

Damn fine actor in PRISON BREAK! (Should be cast as CARNAGE in the VENOM movie)!

What bothered me wasn't the new characters as such, just the way they kept changing powers and alliances and personalities. I mean what was going on with Sylar! He wants to turn over a new leaf and falls in love with Elle, then for no reason at all just says "ah [frick] it" goes evil again and kills her! The writers must have been high as kites for most of that season. I also hate that they wont just outright kill someone. Nikki is dead..but guess what she had a twin! Nathan is dead..but guess what...

Anyway, i just like the sound of the carnival thing!

Leee, Carnivale will is sorely missed:(...bastards over at HBO!

Bastards indeed. But at least we have true blood now. There were so many characters added though.... The Mexican brother and sister for instance....that really served no purpose. Claiers boyfriend who could fly, the kid who helped sylar last year, the list goes on and on

Yeah true, that kid who could fly and that mimic girl just disappeared without explanation! I didnt mind the Mexican pair so much because dania ramirez is smokin hot!

LEEE777: I couldnt Agree with you more!!!! 'Carnivale' was a GREAT GREAT GREAT show!!! Too bad those evil [frick]ers at HBO canceled it. Appearantly, no one know who exactly 'owns' the rights to the carnivale story. It is all tied up in court. There were actually at least 4 more seasons that were written, on top of the two they already made. Such a shame such a shame!

I have heard all kinds of rumours about bringing 'Carnivale' back, but they can't. HBO, The writer who says he is the creator, and some other guyg from the early 80's who also says he wrote it and owns it, are all in court together battling over the rights. They made a deal I think too...where HBO indefinetely suspends Carnivale.

I dont know how I could ever trust HBO again. I feel like I was the victim of a rape or something. And HBO was the dirty old man. I think Carnivale was tyhe best show on TV...probably ever. Makes me sick to even think about it.

And it is hard to believe that picture of Hayden Panettiere is the same girl from the Dust Factory.

The only thing I hate about them adding new characters is when they do it for no reason. They don't let the character flesh out they just stick 'em in there to fill space and show off new powers.

Someone on here has mentioned before about Ray Park. I agree with them, hopefully he actually gets a chance to talk this time.

@Ror, I continue to watch to, hoping things are going to get better, and to see Hayden!!! :P

you'd think with the rights issue, that it would've been sorted way back when! An yes it was a too good show to just cancel like that! I will never get how a show like that gets canceled and we have crappy shows that go on forever???

Im not happy with HBO either, an on top of that they do a complete stop to the PREACHER series they promised for god knows how long! BAD HBO! Only way they could ever make it up maybe if they did a true top notch PUNISHER HBO series! After all, after the last movie i think he's done on the big screen! Shame but true!

I still wanna see more of CARNIVALE though, and anyone reading this should get the first series box collection or try an catch it if its showing on one of your cable stations! Its a very underrated tv show, it really was!

dania played a shi++y character on heroes...claire is hotter than her...i'd still like a double serving of them lol..cant beleive milo is tapping hayden....she is really growing and fulling up well...damn....hotttttttt...i still aint gettin a goood vibz bout heroes anymore...i think its gonna tank

Please don't get me started about HBO and Carnivale again.

Nice article Ror01. I've been sharing your worries about Heroes and the finale didn't do anything to make me feel that much better. This is very intruiging however. Anything to get Knepper back in a Carnival environment is cool with me. He gets to take the reins and be the leader too, which will be nice to see.

I feel your pain bro, and have also heard many of the same rumors over the years. The 6 season story arc, the squabbles, the possible HBO mini series to wrap it up. All to be sitting here on another CBM thread, pissin and moanin about getting nuthin but blue balls. Oh well, I'll just draft another complaint letter to HBO. Maybe I'll fill the box with used tampons instead of shit this time.

I got tired of Heroes. Too much Deus Ex Machina going on. And how many times have they "gone back to where it all began"? Huh? They fricken had like 20 flashbacks that "explain" how all this shit happened and I got tired of it.

Ror, I agree with ya on the characters shifting around so much. Although, I WAS glad when Sylar killed Elle, as he was leaving his effed up side and becoming too human.

Seeing as how Sylar IS the main reason why I watch the show, I am intruiged with the whole erased psyche thing, especially since brain damage (which is BASICALLY what Sylar sustained) can be healed by his powers. So it'll be an interesting season overall, but this carnival thing has some promise.


And Anil, Milo and Hayden split up a LONG time ago. Didn't you notice any scenes in like the last 1/4 of the season that had both on set at the same time did NOT have the same chemistry as before? They aren't cool anymore, really.

I disagree... Nathan, the Ali Larter triplets, and a few either people should have been killed off... And several others NEVER should have been made...

But Sylar is the ONLY reason I never tired of the show... His lack of a moral compass is what makes him amazing.

Gunsmith I agree with the watered down parts. The two biggest characters Peter and hiro lost there powers. Stupid. Then the gave powers to others (ando and suresh) who didn't need them cause there characters were good as plain humans. Didn't make any sense to me

Hey shibazz. Good to see ya. As you cN tell from my post I agree with u totally. The 1st season is see n resoundingly as the best. And I believe that's because it was solely focused on the core group. When it spread out to unecessary and unpopular characters it went down hill.

@Mr. Jojo@ I could actually say the same thing about Heroes like that guy is a bout Carnivale.

I created a story that is very similar to Heroes I even sent something to Marvel about it once when I applied for a job about being a writer for them, but I'm not going to be a dick and stop the show just because It "could" be possible that they stole my idea that's just lame.

LEEE777: yeah, Im totally on the same boat with you on this one! I read somewhere that the next four seasons are available in screenplay format and maybe even a book or something by now. I am still hurt over the abrupt cancelation...so I never read the rest. I suppose 'Sophie' becomes the next...um, 'anti-christ' person? lol I love the series.

I couldnt agree with you more, anyone interested in great great storytelling, with 'fine' directing and cinematography, and excelent acting byt an excellent cast (save for maybe the lead role,,I never really liked that kid). Top Notch all the way around...I recoomend this highly, to anyone...but you must start from the first episode and follow in order.

Each individual episode is a week in the world of Carnivale. And every week the Carnivale moves to a new town. It is just so well written and executed...

I did hear something about 'Preacher' on HBO. That is highly interesting. They would need to be top notch. (much like Carnivale ;) or even better than carnivale if possible. I am new to Preacher. I am on issue 52, so Jesse just defeated The meat man. I still have a ways to go. HBO would be a prefect venue for Preacher because they could take their time and tell the story like the comic does.

I also like your idea of a Punisher series on HBO. That is an incredibly, ridiculously 'great' idea! They would need to choose wisely the material and story that they use. It should be heavy on guest appearances and bad guys.

Osiris: yeah...ya know I believe you. My mom used to write storie, short stories...mostly sci fi and weird tales kinda stuff. And she would send them into magazine in the ealy 80's.

She neve got published or anything, and she has since become a computer programmer, but one day...Disney made a movie astonishingly similar to a story that she wrote and sent in. So I totally believe you.

I wrote a story myself actually. It is very inspired by 'Carnivale', 'The Dark Tower/The Gunsliger', very science fiction, fantasy and horror all mixed together.

I am scarred to death to share it with anybody...I dont even want to think about it in the wrong direction.

is thay hayden's girlfren?..two for one deal plz??..ahem...heroes better start killing off ppl for good cuz too many thread plots try to intersect and make the whole story appear with clarity, as if the frickin rapture is occuring...but it doesn't work out that way...not since season 1...paul haggis aint directing heroes...it aint crash!!!..c'mon stick to a 1-d storyline for once cuz they jump all over and then can't retcon and reconnect crap properly...look at how many characters just went up in smoke..wes, the woman who controlled the net or airwaves or satellite waves or watever, claire's aquaboy, micah's cuz, invisible guy etc..damn the writers f-it up badly sumtimes...too much times for my blood

Heroes is good but they have made so many mistakes like how hiro' is "rejecting" his powers what the hell is that. And sometimes there's way too much story to deal with.

Heroes was guaranteed to fail when they moved away from their original premise.

Having a group of "core characters" RUINS the show. It was supposed to be a revolving cast show where characters were mortal and would only exist within the series for a set amount of time before passing on for one reason or another.

Now we've well established that there is a large group of character that are immortal and anyone introduced at the beginning of the season will be dead and Sylar will have all their powers by the end. And that just isn't nearly as interesting.
And Sylar as WELL outlasted his purpose. He has had 3 perfect deaths now and so if they ever do get around to writing him out, it'll be horribly anticlimatic.
