I've never really seen the last 3. or is it the first 3? The prequels. Never tickled my fancy.
greenlanternsector2814 - 9/8/2011, 2:10 PM
Lucas needs to stop focusing on the tweeks in the old movies and either get a move on with the TV series or just make more movies...
opencurtain - 9/8/2011, 2:13 PM
I think they should totally reboot them for the 21 century with a whole new cast and great CGI effects bring it on !!!
jasonicus - 9/8/2011, 2:16 PM
I am so sick of the internet cry-babies whining over the changes.
jjmeylar - 9/8/2011, 2:24 PM
I don't mind it. I actually love the idea of changing Yoda. The others are okay, too. I really wish that they would go through and digitally re-master them in their entirety. I'm talking lightsabers, space ships, speeders, sound, and everything else.

Leave us alone, George Lucas.
EdParker - 9/8/2011, 2:29 PM
Bunch of babies lmao All he is doing is enhancing them, it's his crown jewl. if it's going on blu-ray 7.1 might as well go all the way, looking forward to it.
marvel72 - 9/8/2011, 2:43 PM
I think it's a bit silly. We all know and love the movies as they are, why feel the need to alter them in any way?

Wolverinesfury, truer words have never been spoken.

My psychotherapist is interested in George Lucas case...
Gamester76 - 9/8/2011, 3:44 PM
I dont mind Lucas making some digital and audio changes to take full advantage of the capabilities of the Blu-ray format, but some of the changes he made are unnecessary.
Moonwalker1991 - 9/8/2011, 3:45 PM
Lucas needs to make more movies and continue the damn saga! The 3D crap is stupid and a complete waste of time and money. Lucas is a tool.
SpiderFan35 - 9/8/2011, 3:53 PM
Lucas has gone to the Dark Side. He has a bazillion dollars and nothing but time on his hands to do this crazy shit all day. However, I guess it's better than locking himself in his house and wearing kleenex boxes for shoes.

He owns the films. That's like someone getting angry because I decided to paint my car a different color and they liked the color it was before. He can do whatever the heck he wants to those films. I even think it's kind of neat him looking at them years later and saying "man I'd love to add this to that scene!" And then BAM he does it. People don't like it don't buy it. It's not rocket science.
JigJRod55 - 9/8/2011, 4:26 PM
I got my DVDs of the real original Star Wars and they work fine, if they don't want to give me the real movies on BluRay then I don't need them.
CyberBishop - 9/8/2011, 4:27 PM
There is an old saying, "If it is not broke don't fix it".. I guess in his mind they are "broken"..
roach - 9/8/2011, 6:23 PM
Contrary to popular belief director dont make movies for us...they make the type of movies they like to make. When Nolan sits down to write the Bat-movies he writes what he wants to see in them...not what he thinks we want to see....because we dont know what we want....remember when the first pic of Heath Ledger Joker came out and everyone was pretty much up in arms over it....what do they think now?
George Lucas is making the movies he wants to and always thought the movies were flawed...there was so much he wanted in these movies that technology couldnt provide. Now that it can he has the chance to make the movies closer to his vision.

Gigacrusher45 - 9/8/2011, 6:46 PM
He really must be bored out of his mind if all he can think about is what other crap to do to Star Wars. He must of also lost all creativity and motivation to try and do anything else as well.

I don't care if he owns the films. That doesn't make him sound any better. There is a vast different between the Lucas from the original Star Wars and the Lucas from now.

As I've seen some people say if he wants to add to the Star Wars universe he should actually ADD stuff, like make more movies, instead of re-releasing shit and being like " hey guys I added stuff that didn't need to be added.............buy it now ".
Gigacrusher45 - 9/8/2011, 6:57 PM
He should of simply waited for technology to catch up to what he wanted to do, made all the VISUAL corrections and improvements he wanted, and LEFT IT ALONE.
Daimaoh - 9/8/2011, 7:20 PM
I think next Lucas is going to recognize his "true vision" in the next updates. To quote Penny Arcade, it will include the new Gay Boba Fett and Luke's true form, an anthropomorphic cat-man named Meow Skywalker.
roach - 9/8/2011, 7:35 PM
@ Gigacrusher---if he waited we would have never gotten Star Wars
snoopytrek - 9/8/2011, 9:08 PM
...he knows he can never top himself or the original, that's why the sequels weren't that good. and probably the reason he hasn't gone ahead with the live action tv series or the next three chapters. eh, least there's Trek...
xfactor - 9/8/2011, 10:26 PM
I hate this!!!! When the hell is george lucas going to do the something more creative, like the next three episodes? If he's wasting so much time on touching up the originals, why not continue the series? Not to mention the fact he's rereleasing all of them in theaters again in 3d. Give me a break already. Now he's just making me mad with this.
p.s. i'm not happy about him changing yoda to cgi. Call me nostalgic but that's my preference.
TheGlove - 9/9/2011, 2:11 AM
Hey Fat Neck, Just because you can, it doesn't mean you Should.....
Newbus - 9/9/2011, 10:16 AM
So everytime you make a slight tweak to movie you charge people $30? Great business plan, but I ain't buyin' it.
HugeCapfan - 9/9/2011, 1:07 PM
It's Lucas's movies. If he wants to tinker with it and change this and that. TOUGH LUCK! But we're the consumer. Soooo, DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T BUY IT!!!.

My advice, do what Spielberg did with ET, have one copy that he tinkered with and another copy available as the original version.

So, have an altered version Star Wars and an unaltered and original version of Star Wars.
