With last mouths news that NBC decided to reduce the number of episodes from 13 down to 10 and then air it's final episode online only the shows survive wasnt looking good. Now tvbythenumbers is reporting the show has been taking off of NBC schedule.

The Cape is off NBC’s schedule, and The Event resumes in its former Monday 9pm timeslot next week. NBC notes that the final episode of The Cape will be viewable online only. No word on the geographic restrictions on that viewing.

This will be Summer Glau 4th show to be cancelled (Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse). Despite being a talented actress with a dedicated fan base, Glau keeps suffering cancellation. With bad ratings and lack of interest in the show it was only a matter of time till the show was cancelled and we can’t really blame that on her now can we.

So for those of you who watch the show were you surprised (I wasn’t) that the show got cancelled.

well that was inevitable. It sounded it a fun idea, but sucks to see it canceled. Now you can't blame her for all those shows being canceled....she may be talented it's just a ratings game for networks...you don't pull in big numbers then you don't get stay on air for long

It isn't her fault but I would bet Summer is going to have trouble finding another show to hire her for awhile.

i really liked the show. too bad it got canceled. it had so much potential. let's hope wonder woman will be a worthy replacement.

knew this was gonna happen after sitting through the first two episodes.

so when they dropped it from 13 - 10 episodes that pretty much confirmed it.

this came out a couple weeks ago. The Even has already been back for 2 weeks.

The problem it had was it stopped being about the guy BEHIND the cape and became ABOUT the Cape. I'm really not that surprised. The villains were cheap Batman knockoffs. I feel kind of bad for Summer Glau, every show she's been on has been canceled pretty quickly. I wish Joss Whedon would make a Serenity sequel. Even with two dead characters, it's probably doable.

Summer Glau is an amazing actress, I think she could be the Next Maggie Q

I liked the first two episodes, but The Liche Part 1 & 2 were just terrible. It slowly got worse as it went on, IMO. I was still watching it, kinda... Haven't bothered watching the finale.

Hopefully Wonder Woman will be better... You never know. I'll remain optimistic for it, as I do any CBM I'm slightly interested in (X-Men: First Class... I'll be seeing it for Xavier and Magneto, they're the only two characters in it I give a crap about and it looks like they're getting treated decent enough in the film.)

this is easy. hi i'm a studio and i want to profit on comic book like shows/movies, so i'll make a show with a hero who seems like a comic book character. but i don't want to pay for special effects so i'll give him lame abilities. vahla! the cape! so lame.

NBC needs to be cancelled too. The entire network is a waste good TV bandwith. They are going to screw up Wonder Woman as well.

Wow...this is old news, as already mentioned. I actually enjoyed the show. The writing could have been somewhat better, but I thought the acting was pretty good for the most part.

Syfy should pick the show up. It wasn't that bad.

I know I'm REALLY behind on this, but I just discovered this series on Netflix and I gotta say; it's so much better than I thought it would be when I originally saw promos for it when it was on TV. I couldn't have been less interested in a series called "The Cape". I still don't care for the lead actor (if they would have gotten someone else it could have been even better!), but I do enjoy the plot for the most part and the character development is great! Sad that this, like so many others as you've mentioned, got the axe. Amazing cast for the most part. Loved the Villain/Hero relationship, too.
