I personally haven't seen any Planet of the Apes movies other than Tim Burton's (yes, I'm ashamed to say so), but the newer films directed by Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves look amazing, and I can't wait to see them! Below, you guys can tell us all what you thought of this one, and how much you can't wait for the next!

A substance, designed to help the brain repair itself, gives rise to a super-intelligent chimp who leads an ape uprising.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a 2011 American science fiction film directed by Rupert Wyatt and starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, and Andy Serkis. Written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, it is 20th Century Fox's reboot of the Planet of the Apes series, intended to act as an origin story for a new series of films.

Great films should be excused from cinema sins. This was a great movie and dawn looks to up the ante. Some Reviews so far have dubbed Dawn a masterpiece.

I'm writing my next "Why It Worked" article about Rise =) And I'll be first in line to watch Dawn. These movies rock.

I really loved this film.

I was glad they simply had Caesar wishing to have freedom for his race by the end and independence and not an evil anti-human agenda. It would have been all to easy of the filmmakers to make him flip to that after a few weeks in the care of a few bad people.
DeusExSponge - 7/3/2014, 11:46 AM
Awesome film! I was so surprised at how good it was when I watched it. I'm really looking forward to Dawn and eagerly await its release.

Chewtoy - 7/3/2014, 12:02 PM
It was an admittedly good film, but I really didn't fall in love with it or have any real desire for another, myself.

mmadadamm - 7/3/2014, 12:56 PM

I remember that I didn't want to see this when it came out. My girlfriend made me take her. I'm glad that she did. This is now one of my favorite movies. I'm patiently waiting to see dawn of the planet of the apes.
