EDITORIAL: Could We See She-Hulk In Marvel's Netflix Series?

Marvel has confirmed to give us several original series, which will premiere exclusively on the popular online streaming site, known as Netflix. I'm here to give you a couple of reasons why we could see Jennifer Walters a.k.a. She-Hulk, in one or more of these series. Hit the Jump!

This won't be a 50 Paragraph editorial, yet it won't be 50 words either. I want to take long enough to get my point across, yet make it small enough for all to understand. So read on to see my thoughts on why we could possibly see The Savage She-Hulk or her more mild-mannered side, Jennifer Walters in one or more of Marvel's upcoming Netflix shows. Read on for more details!

Reason 1. Jennifer Walters Is A Lawyer.

To this reason, many would say, why is that a big deal? Well, it is. When you think of lawyers and Marvel Comics, the first two people you think of is Matt Murdock, better known to fans as Daredevil, who will be receiving his own Netflix series, and Jennifer Walters, who is the She-Hulk. So, one possibility is that we could see a battle between the two finest lawyers of the Marvel Universe.

Reason 2. She-Hulk Is A Hero For Hire.

Many of you probably didn't know this, but in Volume 1 of the original “Heroes For Hire” comic series, our green gamma-friend had a somewhat large role in the series, as she joined Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the rest of the team in issue 8, and left in issue 19; which was the final issue of the series. So not only could we see her as Jennifer Walters in Daredevil, we may see her as a Hero For Hire, or Defender.

Reason 3: Question: How Would Marvel Do This?

I've already listed a couple of reasons on where She-Hulk would appear, but the question now is, How would She-Hulk appear? Would Marvel take a tall girl and paint her green, or would they use all CGI, much like her cousin? Well, CBM user nailbiter111 and I were having this discussion, when we both came to the conclusion that they should do The Hobbit trick. What is that? You ask. Well, in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, cinematographers took cameras, and put them all at different sizes, angles, and even put some of the actors into different filming rooms, and in the end putting it all together, making Gandalf look 3 feet taller than Bilbo. Therefore, if She-Hulk became part of one or more of these series, they could use this trick and make her tower over normal citizens.

So, those are my theories on why we could see She-Hulk or Jennifer Walters sooner than we may think. What are yours? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

I've always found She-Hulk to be one of the lamest marvel characters. I wouldn't want to see her.

not to be confused with 'pee-hulk', which is just this f-ed up thing gusto and pasto do with green food-coloring and their own urine.

She-Hulk is a terrible character.

She should never be in the MCU. As Jennifer Walters, the lawyer, fine . . . . but she should never Hulk out.

One character I've been wanting to see for the longest time is Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew). She's one of those characters that lends herself well to both TV and film, so I don't care if she gets her own movie or TV series (ABC or Netflix are the most likely networks). It would also be cool to see her guess star on Agents Of SHIELD. Some people think Skye is Spider Woman, but I hope not. I want to see her done right.

I'd love this, great editorial!

Making someone look bigger than other characters using perspective is a very long process. It has to be perfect, because perspective is one of those things that not everyone can do correctly, but EVERYONE can tell if something is off. Even if they don't know it's a perspective error.

And doing with CGI while it's possible, again take a lot of time to do and even more money. Something tv shows going week to week don't have. However with these shows being mini-series, they might film them all at the same time. So it makes it more probable but still not as likely.

As far as story, I say yes to seeing Jennifer Walters, but she really needs to have her origin explained. You can't have her show up all Hulked out. People would want explanations. And it would be lazy to just say that see got a blood transfusion from her cousin and not show it.

@Nibs you got a guffaw out of me with your comment, bravo.
@stark good read, nice points

I kinda agree with Doom. I don't think she's terrible but I don't think that she should be Hulked Up in the MCU.
That said, I think it'd feel natural to have her in there. She could still be a cool supporting character. She could work in the same firm as Murdock and they could even explore the relation to Banner aspect, showing her as concerned be the Avengers and the Hulk's well being

Great write up Stark!

I'm not crazy about She-Hulk, but I don't mind 'er, either. I haven't read all that much with her, though.. just whatever stories she happened to pop up in, and a bit of the Slott run a while back. Heh, fun girl..

She does love herself a good shag.

I'm not worried about the size at all. There's plenty of ways to pull that off. The biggest concern is the budget, really.

wouldn't be shocked to at least hear her name thrown out, doubt we will see her though

I COULD write a 50 paragraph comment, you know.
But not about She-Hulk.

I don't hate her, and I don't even dislike her. And there might even be room for her in the MCU, whether it's on Netflix, ABC *cringe*, or the movies.

But I don't like the idea of her being the cousin nobody knew Bruce had. Where the hell did she come from? How could the military possibly miss her?

So we'd need to come up with a really good story for her, and they could probably even ditch the idea that the two are family members, although I dunno, maybe if they'd never met, distant relatives, that could ideally work - but Hollywood is NEVER that subtle.

its a netflix series so i will give this show a try...

But the daredevil show is the one im looking foward
GliderMan - 3/14/2014, 2:05 PM
She should only come to be in a Hulk movie.
MrNiklander - 3/14/2014, 2:35 PM
I am not familliar with the character but if MARVEL sees potential who am I to say no
superherofan21 - 3/14/2014, 5:21 PM
It'd be nice to have a short cameo just as Jennifer Walters in the Daredevil show.
TChalla - 3/15/2014, 7:28 AM
I would think that The Defenders would have more characters then just the four they announced so I can see this happening!
