The absence of Aquaman in Justice League: War was a common complain from fans, but through a mid-credits scene, Warner Bros. Animation teased that he would be getting the spotlight very soon. Newsarama has a few new details on an animated movie for the character, which will be a New 52-based origin story. The film will have 'Aquaman' in its title, and the Ocean Master (seen in the War mid-credits scene), also known as Orm, will be played by Sam Witwer (Smallville, Star Wars: The Clone Wars). Expect more details closer to San Diego Comic-Con this July.

The New 52 is definitely the way to go with Aquaman. And Witwer a great choice for Orm!
TheTrueBatfleck - 5/16/2014, 3:24 PM
Interesting, I've never read his New 52 tales, but from what I've heard, they're badass. I'll have to investigate this further once SDCC rolls up.

Given the quality of JLW concerns are arising...
MrBlackjack - 5/16/2014, 3:28 PM
New 52 Aquaman is absolutely amazing.
ALegendaryPanda - 5/16/2014, 3:29 PM
At first I thought this was live-action, I was about to flip the [frick] out! Lol

But this is still awesome. I'll definitely watch it

@BlackJack

How?
JillyMcBeam - 5/16/2014, 3:31 PM
Aquaman needs a live action adaptation. They can take a B rated superhero, like Marvel did with Iron Man, and make him a star.
Starfox - 5/16/2014, 3:31 PM
LOL When I saw the Title I Assumed this was Live-Action.. Cool News Though. Aquaman has untapped potential.
Spock0Clock - 5/16/2014, 3:31 PM
Considering the ridiculous end scene of the one about Darksied, is anyone surprised by this?
Starfox - 5/16/2014, 3:33 PM
I'm hoping the rumours are true about Aquaman having a big presence in BvS .. Mamoa?
TheRationalNerd - 5/16/2014, 3:34 PM
Saw animated and immediately felt like this...

Highflyer - 5/16/2014, 3:34 PM

mbembet - 5/16/2014, 3:36 PM

SuperCat - 5/16/2014, 3:36 PM
I want to see him in live-action, dammit!
thebearjew - 5/16/2014, 3:40 PM
love it!
I love animation a bit more than live action I think
jlwar was ok ww and supes were awfully characterized that's my only complaint really
wookiefit76 - 5/16/2014, 3:41 PM
Cool. I still would have introd him in a Wonder Woman movie. Wonder woman should be like Clash of the Titans. She's a demi-god and needs something from Atlantis. Then he comes back in JL movie at WW request for help and joins team or something. Then you could easily do a solo movie on him and get the whole atlantis story.

Please though, no sea horse riding.

@TheBlackNers

Right there with you . . .

Superior - 5/16/2014, 3:46 PM
I don't really have that much interest in this and it's not because I like Marvel better than DC, it's because of the quality of these films have came to an all time low. Honestly, the stuff DC has been handing us in the animated department has been some shit in my opinion. JL: WAR and Son of Batman, didn't finish watching any of them, and that's a first for me when I watch these films. Here's some advice, I don't know what you did for Batman: Under the Red Hood or The Dark Knight Returns, but do it again, because this New 52 line of films is losing my interest.
PAF - 5/16/2014, 3:47 PM
I bet you Batman will make an appearance.
Superior - 5/16/2014, 3:47 PM
And yeah, it's cool Aquaman is finally getting the spotlight to the media.
DaVinci31 - 5/16/2014, 3:50 PM
I will legit shed manly tears if Momoa isn't cast as Aquaman, it's too perfect.

AlphaMasterFlex - 5/16/2014, 3:51 PM
Haven't seen Son of Batman yet but War was trash soooo is there any point being excited?
DeadHubris - 5/16/2014, 3:53 PM
Darth Maul As Ocean Master.

*inserts take my money meme
KidGoku - 5/16/2014, 3:53 PM
i want the JL: Doom & Young Justice animators to just take care of the DC animation from now on.
SuperCat - 5/16/2014, 3:54 PM
KilledHal9000 - 5/16/2014, 4:03 PM
The New 52 Aquaman would be perfect for a live action film, especially the first arc.
McNyagano - 5/16/2014, 4:04 PM
[frick], thought it was live action:/
McGee - 5/16/2014, 4:05 PM
MrBlackjack - 5/16/2014, 4:06 PM
@MAK What do you mean "how"? Have you read any of it?
MrFridayNights - 5/16/2014, 4:07 PM
James Cameron should direct a live action New 52 Aquaman film.
McGee - 5/16/2014, 4:07 PM
0megaDaGod - 5/16/2014, 4:10 PM

@BlackJack

Outside of Throne of Atlantis, no.
MrFridayNights - 5/16/2014, 4:15 PM
WBs should release this animated movie in theaters.
Nomis - 5/16/2014, 4:15 PM
@ Supercat - LOL!!!! Wha' the deuce ????
MrBlackjack - 5/16/2014, 4:17 PM
The first handful of issues, for example, are great because they are aware of the fact that people view Aquaman as a joke. In the first issue Aquaman is actually made fun of. As the arc goes on and on more and more of Aquaman's badass side are shown and the general public of the DC Universe realize he ain't no motherucker joke. Johns handled it great.
