FAN FIC: Original Novel Outline

This is an idea for a Novel I've been thinking about, thought I would get some feed back from the CBM community

So, here’s the thing. I have been thinking about writing a book for over two years now, but never had the down time to actually do it (Going to school, working and all). Recently, a series of unfortunate events have left me with some free time on my hands and I am revisiting the idea of writing said book (I have not come up with a title yet). Since I am on this site a lot and the story I want to tell is very sci-fi/comic book based, I thought I would post the idea and see what ya’ll thought. Mind you, this is a rough draft.

The story is about a guy who discovers that he’s a part of a long line of protectors charged with the responsibility of keeping the balance between good and evil. The line dates back to the times of Camelot. He goes through a training period where he has to learn to use a hi-tech, nano/symbiote type armor (best way I can describe it[Awesome pic above though right!?]). He quickly finds out that keeping the balance between good and evil is not always cut and dry and some of the decisions that are made don’t always make sense. This causes some dissension and causes a kind of break in the brother hood, which has been foreseen in a prophesy (perhaps, still thinking about that one). Any who that is the basic outline of the story. I have a few more ideas but don’t want to delve too much into it right now. Shout out below as usual.

It sounds a bit like the HBO show Carnivale.

The plus side is that's an awesome show.

Sweet!

Sweet-sounding. I'd love to read more details of this! Yes; perhaps, first of all, you should add the details of the novel's tone, villains, the armor's capabilities, et cetera, but the basic plot...I like the sound of it.

That image is the Symbiote-Iron Man, correct? :)

It's like iron man and venom mixed together! I like the story and I would read it. Are you posting anything?

No, the pic is not mine. It's by artist ijul AKA Zulkarnaen Hasan Basri

As for the armor, once it's connected to the user (i'm thinking an injection of some sort) it can be manipulated by the user to look like anything and can also be used to make weapons (think of how Carnage can use the symbiote suit to make axes and blades, etc) I was thinking that it's only limited by the users imagination. I have been juggling the idea of whether or not to have it technology based or maybe even a parasite of some sort.

Still thinking of the characters. So far I have the main character who has a police back ground, has an on again off again girlfriend, who is good at finding trouble. He is confronted by a "protector" who comes to the conclusion that he is from the "linage" of protectors. After being convinced of the higher calling who goes into training.

I have been thinking of this as a trilogy, so I have a few ideas for main villains. The first would be someone who is found to be disturbing the balance of good and evil (i'm still even toying around with that idea) and having this guy (or girl) be around for the first two parts. Somewhere in here you would begin to see the possibility of someone in the "brotherhood" becoming influenced and the balance gets turned on it's head.

In this you have the coming of age/confused hero, the damsel constantly in distress because of him, and the bad guy causing the problems with the possibility of betrayal from within.

@BattlinMurdock:
I never heard of HBO's Carnival, I'll have to check it out.
