My thoughts about a Fantastic 4 Reboot and what I would like to see done differently!
I recently watched Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. I enjoyed the movie but, as with most people, there are a few things I would like to have seen changed. Obviously, Galactus should have been CGI. I'm sure there is enough talk on that subject.
What I would like to talk about, and hear ideas, is a new movie and the idea of a Reboot. I have seen some sites but have been unable to access them to see the ideas of others. So I decided to offer my own ideas on an F4 Reboot.
CAST: KEEP Reed and BEN.
I won't miss Jessica Alba or Chris Evans. Evans doesn't seem interested. I'd like to see him but I wouldn't mind a slightly younger, thinner Johnny. He's a bit too buff for the role. Johnny should be young.
Jessica played Sue quite well. But she has since had a baby and I'm sure she would demand too much money. Hell, I work with a few blonds who could "LOOK" as good as she does. So I'm sure Marvel can find a lesser known actress, pay her less than a god's ransom and have the money to budget a GOOD movie.
VILLIAN: NAMOR!. I know he's not a villain but his first meeting with the F4 was NOT a friendly one. People act as if they're afraid to say they don't like Dr. DOOM. He's an awesome villain but I've seen enough of him. The entire Silver Surfer story could have been done without DOOM. It was good but lets see someone else. He could play the role Luthor plays in Superman, where, no matter who the villain is, Luthor is always around.
NAMOR should be ASIAN. THink I'm nuts? To get his facial features right, even with all the magic H-wood can muster, he would be better played by an Asian actor. He would LOOK more like Namor in the comics. The Actor should be Korean or Chinese. Any of the other groups would be too far from Vintage Namor in appearence. I hope this does not offend anyone but about 80% of my closest friends are Asian so I know what I'm talking about.
Neither Namor nor Silver Surfer can hold the Big screen alone. It was wise to introduce Silver Surfer in the pages (if you will) of the Fantastic 4. I would LOVE to see them stick to Namor's first encounter with the F4 in the book.
ALSO, since every movie MUST have some kind of love scene, I would LOVE to see the tension between Reed, Sue and Namor.
Namor takes Sue
Reed becomes obsessed with getting her back, neglecting other responsibilities
Sue actually shows some "Attraction" to Namor
Movie ends with the uncertainty of Sue's true feelings for Namor.
Any other Ideas?
