Live action The Prince of Egypt? I'm in!
TheRationalNerd - 7/8/2014, 9:18 PM
Looks like it will be a great film but yet again audiences are a bit disappointed with the race change. I think it'll be a great film though but man does Hollywood love creating a dominantly race changed world. Again it looks great I'm sure it will gain the attention of people disappointed with "Noah" for sure.

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/8/2014, 9:34 PM
Why does Moses have a sword? Is this true to the story?
Starfox - 7/8/2014, 9:41 PM
I love Christian Bale but yes. Moses was Black lol.
PsychoManiacJacky - 7/8/2014, 9:41 PM
All I see is Christian Bale high as [frick] thinking he is Moses.
DeusExSponge - 7/8/2014, 9:44 PM
Woah, woah ,woah! Where's the outrage for Moses race change?! Man you people are letting me down right now!

i love white washing! long live white washing!
DestroyallTroll - 7/8/2014, 10:06 PM
"Moses was black"?????????
Huh. Thought he was Hebrew.
Even if he was, he defiantly was not European. On that note, how would anybody nowadays know what race he was??? Because you want him to be that race? Or was just everybody in that part of the world back then black?....and cause you want him to be?
DestroyallTroll - 7/8/2014, 10:07 PM
anyway couldn't have been European Caucasian. That just is not possible.
DestroyallTroll - 7/8/2014, 10:10 PM
but if it is ok to change comic characters to different races why should old testament characters be any different?
Unless you believe in the Judeo-Christian God.
Which, in that case you shouldn't even come to this site.
Cause of @McGee.
Jollem - 7/8/2014, 10:16 PM
yes, it's true. christian bale is of european descent. however...have ya thought that maybe the character he is playing in this movie is not?

mind = blown
DaVinci31 - 7/8/2014, 10:20 PM
This looks solid, but it's not going to (unfortunately) let me forget The Counselor, Prometheus or anything else Ridley's done in the past 10 or so years.
MrFridayNights - 7/8/2014, 10:23 PM
That looks amazing I am glad that we're a getting more movies based on the bible.
Christian Bale will win a Oscar for his performance as Moses.
DestroyallTroll - 7/8/2014, 10:24 PM
What blows my mind @Jollem is that you didn't mention how much Marvel Studios sucks!
Just Joking.
DestroyallTroll - 7/8/2014, 10:24 PM
but you know what they say, the true jokes are the funniest.
GuardianAngel - 7/8/2014, 10:30 PM
Looks surprisingly good. Hopefully though they don't turn this into an action movie like Noah.
McGee - 7/8/2014, 10:31 PM
staypuffed - 7/8/2014, 10:42 PM
Oh, look! Another fantasy movie.
TheDesertGorilla - 7/8/2014, 10:54 PM
They go through all those details but can't get the actors' race right.
staypuffed - 7/8/2014, 11:06 PM
Wait, that's Joel Edgerton? Holy shit!
jelbright - 7/8/2014, 11:13 PM
Dude looks like Black Adam but Bale looks nothing like Shazam. Oh well, 'Prometheus II: Paradise by the Dashboard Light' will be sweet.
Vegeta - 7/8/2014, 11:17 PM
This looks really good.
soforizo - 7/8/2014, 11:33 PM
TheBlackNerd - 7/8/2014, 9:18 PM

Looks like it will be a great film but yet again audiences are a bit disappointed with the race change.

Yeah, cuz that's what the masses will be thinking about. Right...
soforizo - 7/8/2014, 11:35 PM
This looks great btw. The cinematography and makes it feel fresh for the genre.
BoneSawIsReady - 7/8/2014, 11:45 PM
Aaron Paul plays.... well, Aaron? But that's Moses' older bro.

Maybe Kingsley will be Aaron.
BoneSawIsReady - 7/8/2014, 11:54 PM
Wallymelon - 7/9/2014, 12:55 AM
Why are white people playing Africans? Stupid Hollywood...
Dickel - 7/9/2014, 1:27 AM
'Finger' Yeah! Count me in.
Joel Edgerton is hardly recognizable too.
FloydCrowder - 7/9/2014, 1:29 AM
I'm not worried about Christian Bales race, but he sure doesn't look like he's spent 40 years working as a shepherd in the Midian desert.
SaxoWolf - 7/9/2014, 1:34 AM
Joel Edgerton looks like a badass Lex Luthor.
case - 7/9/2014, 2:08 AM
Joel Edgerton doing his best Telly Savalas... I'll give this a crack.
TheFox - 7/9/2014, 2:32 AM
I like it! (Of course, as soon as I heard that Bale was playing Moses, I was already sold.)

The only thing that's funny is that there's almost no emphasis on the religious aspects of the story in the trailer. It's all focused on the dramatics: there are two men who are raised like brothers. One has a falling out with the other. Suddenly, a bunch of crazy sh*t happens, climax, the end.

I mean, I KNOW they're going to mention at some point that God is behind all the wacky hijinks with the blood rivers and the parted seas in the movie, but it's kinda interesting how the trailer buries the lead about this being a religious film (despite the fact that the film's title is the title of the book of the Bible it's taken from... with an awkward subtitle thrown in, because hey, it's Hollywood). Everything seems to be about the men, not the gods or theologies.

Then again, the drama between the brothers looks rich enough to fill an entire film even WITHOUT gorgeously-photographed divine shenanigans to spice things up. So I'm, like, double sold!
