Everything Wrong With FANTASTIC FOUR In 15 Minutes or Less

CinemaSins has released the latest installment in their ongoing "Everything Wrong With" series, this time choosing to put Tim Story's Fantastic Four under the microscope. The film starred Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, and Michael Chiklis in the leads. Check it out!

Marvel Comics' first family of superherodom, the Fantastic Four, hits the big screen in a light-hearted and funny adventure. It begins when down-on-his-luck genius Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) has to enlist the financial and intellectual help from former schoolmate and rival Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) in order to pursue outer-space research into human DNA. Also on the trip are Reed's best friend, Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis); his former lover, Sue Storm (Jessica Alba), who's now Doom's employee and love interest; and her hotshot-pilot brother, Johnny Storm (Chris Evans). Things don't go as planned, of course, and the quartet becomes blessed--or is it cursed?--with superhuman powers: flexibility, brute strength, invisibility and projecting force fields, and bursting into flame. Meanwhile, Doom himself is undergoing a transformation.

Fantastic Four featured:
Director: Tim Story
Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
Jessica Alba as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman
Chris Evans as Johnny Storm/Human Torch
Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm/The Thing
Julian McMahon as Dr. Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom
Kerry Washington as Alicia Masters
Hamish Linklater as Leonard
Laurie Holden as Debbie McIlvane
Kevin McNulty as Jimmy O'Hoolihan
Maria Menounos as the Sexy Nurse
Stan Lee as Willie Lumpkin

The Fantastic Four reboot is expected to hit theaters June 19, 2015.

I've just realised that Chris Evan's cbm roles are slowly being taken over by black people. First Johnny, now Cap...only jensen, lucas lee and casey jones to go

You don't need 15 min to bash FF, 15 seconds would suffice
MercwithMouth - 7/17/2014, 10:51 AM
As bad as these movies were, they're still some of the most visually accurate CBMs ever made.
cipher - 7/17/2014, 10:52 AM
I don't even really remember this movie.
Darktower - 7/17/2014, 10:52 AM
One of the main things i didnt like about this movie was wat they did to Dr Doom.
soforizo - 7/17/2014, 10:57 AM
You the F'CK would want to waste an extra 15 minutes of their lives watching clips of that movie? Seriously???

ruadh - 7/17/2014, 10:58 AM
Ah, I have a cinema sin for cinema sins:

"Cameraman forgets to pan up."

Panning is done side to side. You TILT up or down. Yeah a lot of people get that wrong but this guy shouldn't.
WeddingTux - 7/17/2014, 10:59 AM
can't wait for the reboot where Kate Mara uses force-fields

ruadh - 7/17/2014, 11:00 AM
@MrReese, she was also in The Shield with Chiklis.
shabat - 7/17/2014, 11:01 AM
Doopie that is an astute observation.
Bl00dwerK - 7/17/2014, 11:05 AM
What's NOT wrong with the FF movie?
sKeemAn - 7/17/2014, 11:13 AM
Silly movie. Doom the worst part
3DOldskool - 7/17/2014, 11:15 AM
Despite of its flaw, every casting were still superior than the teenage hipster ones we have right now currently.
ruadh - 7/17/2014, 11:16 AM
@Omegadagod, I mentioned this elsewhere but I recently saw a cut someone did of the first FF movie removing a lot of the cheese bits and redoing the soundtrack with music from XMen First Class. It still wasn't a terrific movie, but it was far better. And 40 minutes long. But the bridge sequence truly was fantastic with tightening up and the dramatic music.
GeekyCheekyChic - 7/17/2014, 11:20 AM
What will be funny is when this shit festival is still better than next year's reboot
GodzillaKart - 7/17/2014, 11:25 AM
Who has 15 minutes to watch a shitty comedy critique of a shitty movie?
MyloSteamwitz - 7/17/2014, 11:25 AM
Cinema Sins forgot one...

The rights didn't revert back to Marvel after the first movie.
Mrcool210 - 7/17/2014, 11:26 AM
did he seriously say that Dooms name was a problem with the film? they do realize thats his comic name...ugh.. [frick] off Cinema Shits.
ralfinader - 7/17/2014, 11:26 AM
They could already do an 'Everything wrong..." for this shit heading our way they are calling Fantastic Four.
ComicsBornAndBred - 7/17/2014, 11:35 AM
Chris Evans is light years away from this film. And he's better for it obviously. He IS Captain America. Plays the part so well. And he's the best part of Snowpiercer. Really become a good actor
TheRationalNerd - 7/17/2014, 11:39 AM
The sins he used to point out how the name of the team just goes popularly known is one of the reasons why I feel that any modern take on the Fantastic 4 would require a non-cheesy way of how they get their name. It's this reason why I'm not losing my sh** that they won't be called "The Fantastic Four" in Trank's adaption. I'd say give it time for the group to become more popularly known for a reason other than a some freaks saving a random person in a fire and everyone isn't a bit freaked out by what they're capable of.

If the remake is said to be more grounded I don't expect the team to be accepted by society as easily within the first film.
SanFranLand - 7/17/2014, 11:42 AM
This comment thread gonna be good!

Saw this in the theater. It's bad when you convince your girl, who already isn't a comic fan, into a movie like this and you totally side with them about how crappy it really was.

And Dr. Doom? In my opinion the absolute worst casting of any character of any comic book movie.
Just terrible. Alba is at least easy on the eyes. But this guy? Not only did not look the part but sounded totally out of place wen speaking through the mask. Painfully stupid.
TheRationalNerd - 7/17/2014, 11:44 AM
And Jessica Alba is too fine!
TragicBronson - 7/17/2014, 11:44 AM
I'd say, it could have been worse...But I don't know what I could say that'd make that point valid. It was just plain S**t.
BackwardGalaxy - 7/17/2014, 11:52 AM
How can anyone watch that clip and then also claim that the bridge scene was fantastic? They destroyed the bridge scene.
ruadh - 7/17/2014, 11:54 AM
Not really. It was something he did just as a project and wouldn't give out copies due to copyrights etc. I am sorry though.

Like I said though, it can only be improved ao much. I was just really surprised at how Mich of a difference it made by changing the music.

I just watched this and the sequel a month ago.

Their both cast terribly

The first one is decent until the 2nd act

Rise of the Silver Surfer is actually pretty good. I was surprised how many of my initial issues with it were being blown out of proportion due to looking at it in retrospect. Doom and Sue are probably worse than before, but the story they tell, plus having the SS makes the movie much more enjoyable. The third act is actually pretty epic, even maintaining it's coolness after Dr Doom uses the Surfer's board to spin and make a tornado that conveniently throws the team into New York unscathed

And I'll add that Galaktus isn't nearly as awful when you already know the phuckery is coming

You feeling alright buddy?

That's the LAST thing I would've figure you say. I admit I haven't tried rewatching it since like forever, but that seems overly optimistic take. I'm now intrigued only to see if I could undergo a similar epiphany.
dethpillow - 7/17/2014, 11:58 AM
Worse things that are more insulting to my soul have happened there up on that cinema screen. These movies are just a couple misguided goons, that's all. And can you blame them?

they didn't catch many breaks growing up. They got dealt a pretty stiff hand and they made some unfortunate decisions, and I'm not gonna lie to ya, maybe a lot of bad decisions.

but if they'd just had a little more guidance out there...a little different environment...

Why, who knows what they could've grown up to be? What i'm saying is, ladies and gentlemen of the jury... Look into your hearts today,
And then, look at these movies, my clients, and maybe you'll be able to scrounge up a little mercy and give em a fair shake for once in their lives.

They don't deserve the way people been treating them around here. They don't deserve that at all.
Dunejedi - 7/17/2014, 12:09 PM
I suspect that an unintentional side effect of the reboot will be to make the first 2 films much more attractive by comparison.

Revert the rights.
CPBuff22 - 7/17/2014, 12:18 PM
They would have been better off casting Jessica Alba as Johnny Storm in the new one.
soforizo - 7/17/2014, 12:24 PM

Really? I guess I'll have to try doing the same sometime in the next couple of months.
