less "shocking" really. No way was Fox going to go all in for a sequel after the complete and utter failure that was Fant4stic. Now a certain @DrDoom can rest easy lol.

Too just play devil's advocate and piss off some, Fox could easily just have moved this since:

1. Kingsman 2 (a Fox CBM) would have released the very next week.
2. I believe Kinberg stated that they're pushing any possible sequel back to put more time into it.

And honestly, I doubt we'll be seeing the F4 in the MCU anytime soon. Fox lost $60mil (which is a sizable amount to be sure) but this isn't a Spider-Man situation where Sony NEEDED the money to just stay afloat, Fox is doing fine and dandy.

Now let's all wait for the announcement that Fox has sold the rights to MCU.

I'm probably in the minority when I say this, but I think that FF could be a great series for Netflix.

F4 on Netflix probably wouldn't work the same way a Ghost Rider Netflix series wouldn't, the required budget is too damn high! Even if it had a similar budget to say AOS, the CGI would look about as lame as it did in the 2005 movie and the 2007 Ghost Rider film.

To give this F4 movie one prop, at least the entire story was contained and doesn't leave off on the promise of an entire universe like TASM2 did, so the sting of cancellation is way less painful (not saying I loved the movie).

I'm all for Fantastic Four going to Marvel. Given Marvel's collection of cosmic properties -- Thanos, Guardians, Captain Marvel -- the Fantastic Four would fit right in, and provide something new to build toward after Thanos. In fact, the Fantastic Four could be the new piece that connects the cosmic to Earth. Think about it. The only think connecting the two halves of the MCU is Thor, at the moment. Besides Vision, everyone else is somewhat removed. The Fantastic Four bridge that gap.

The possibilities include both Galactus and the Skrulls, both of whom could breathe new life into the MCU once the Avengers have run their course. Furthermore, with Spider-Man on loan and Doctor Strange getting into the mystical, Fantastic Four could breathe new life into the MCU through interactions between Spider-Man and the titular team, as well as the true incarnation of Doctor Doom.

So I am all for Fantastic Four going to Marvel Studios. I think their approach works for the team, and I think they need the Fantastic Four going forward.

But X-Men should stay at Fox (and get a non-Singer reboot).

And my movie is actually guaranteed to get a sequel, and not because the first one is an incomplete mess. I actually thought the series through, Fantastic Four can work as a film franchise if someone has a vision for where to take it.

On a weirder note, how come I'm just discovering that Fox designed a practical effect Human Torch by combining real pyrotechnics with a human-shaped drone and flying it around a city? This is the coolest looking effect I've ever seen and it's truly tragic that it didn't end up in the film.
