RUMOR: Fox Not Renewing The Rights to Fantastic Four!

RUMOR: Fox Not Renewing The Rights to Fantastic Four!

This is the third tip we have recieved from this guy today, but this news is by far the most interesting! Hit the jump for all the details...

Via the Marvel Cinematic Universe Fan page on Facebook, the Admin has just recieved a tip that 20th Century Fox is giving up the rights to The Fantastic Four and the rights are reverting back to Marvel!

Here's the quote: "Insider news: This is my last piece of inside news for now, but it is a good one. Marvel Studios is going receive the film rights to another of there comic book properties owned by FOX. Fox is going to opt not to renew the rights to this property. ITS CLOBBERIN' TIME!"

So, what do you lot think of this news? Finally we can have the likes of Galactus facing off against the Avengers! And maybe the rights have already reverted back and Galactus will be the villain of The Avengers? Probably not but chances are that if this is true in The Avengers 2 we will be seeing the likes of The Fantastic Four, Galactus and Silver Sufer! And, we will finally get to see Hulk and The Thing face off! Anyway, lets calm down for a second. Treat this with a grain of salt but if true (and it probably is)then this should be interesting! If this is true then Marvel has a chance to make cinematic history and do something never done before.
StrangerX - 8/12/2011, 2:10 PM
SWEEEEETTTTT!!!! Marvel U is gonna be looking good in the next few years
SuperDude001 - 8/12/2011, 2:11 PM
Awesome if true but I'm a bit suspious of the MCU Facebook page's Insider News.
PaulRom - 8/12/2011, 2:16 PM
@SuperDude Yeah I'm a little suspicious too. They claim that Enchantress will be in Thor 2, but we've heard the story before, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Still, the idea of Fantastic Four being in the MCU is just amazing.
MovieMaster - 8/12/2011, 2:16 PM
@superdude- they were the people who recieved tips about the enchantress in thor 2 and benedict cumberbatch appearing in a marvel movie!
TheActionAce - 8/12/2011, 2:17 PM
man i hope this is true
CraptainAmerica - 8/12/2011, 2:17 PM

The possibilities are endless!!! After hearing that Marvel are rolling out even more movies each year this may top it as THE best CBM news of the year so far!!!

If true, it has my vote!
Spidey91 - 8/12/2011, 2:18 PM
saw this on my Facebook and I went "F*********CK YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!" :D
Torch alongside Cap? now that will be odd to see, don't you think? :P
JordanKing - 8/12/2011, 2:18 PM
Being that the FF's anniversary just came and went, this would be perfect timing for this to happen.

Gotta agree though, seems suspicious to say the least.
MovieMaster - 8/12/2011, 2:19 PM
@spidey91- they will just reboot it lol
Spidey91 - 8/12/2011, 2:21 PM
I know, but the fact that Evans played The Torch makes me wonder :P
marvel72 - 8/12/2011, 2:21 PM
if this is true this would open so many doors at marvel.

Spidey91 - 8/12/2011, 2:22 PM

MovieMaster - 8/12/2011, 2:25 PM
@spidey1- i edited that out, just waiting for it to change back. also on the article it says rumour infront of it but on news it says what i wrote so i think an editor has got to it. why isnt it on main lol
marvel72 - 8/12/2011, 2:25 PM
i wish it was the x-men more.
superotherside - 8/12/2011, 2:26 PM

MovieMaster - 8/12/2011, 2:45 PM
sorry guys, DCMarvelFreshman did some digging and the facebook page is full of shit! josh just broke the news to me on the chat :( and that means the other 3 scoops were BS aswell eg the enchantress in thor 2 and benedict cumberbatch in a marvel movie, they did it to get attention.
Scion - 8/12/2011, 3:11 PM
MM, I'm actually pissed, that means he lied to us (the admins of the page as well) I guess they expect fans to run off and spread the news and we did just that. I really am sorry. F*ck.
thunderforce - 8/12/2011, 3:38 PM
If this were true could Marvel make an Anniliators movie? What I mean is who has the rights to Gladiator .
TheActionAce - 8/12/2011, 3:52 PM
ahhhhh man and i had my hopes up and even drew an idea of what i think Marvel Studios galactus could have been like
Checkmate - 8/12/2011, 4:01 PM
I hope Marvel does eventually get the rights back.
But knowing Fox, they're probably reading this, and are gonna pump out a shitty movie to keep them.
SeaSerpentine - 8/12/2011, 4:13 PM
I really hope it is true, I want to see The Avengers fight Dr. Doom.
SeaSerpentine - 8/12/2011, 5:38 PM
(reads the rest of the comments) SHIT!
TheMadman - 8/12/2011, 5:40 PM
WTF? I posted this about 5 hours ago and it gets deleted and you post it and everybody goes frickin' nuts?!
CorndogBurglar - 8/12/2011, 5:44 PM

bring on Big G and the FF bitches!
CorndogBurglar - 8/12/2011, 5:49 PM
we still got hope. Nothing from the FF universe has come been done in some time, and I find it hard to believe that Fox is seriously considering a new FF movie with the bad reception of the last 2.

its gotta be close to reverting anyway.
MrAnonymous2013 - 8/12/2011, 7:37 PM
It would make perfect sense. It would explain the miraculous recovery of Johnny Storm to reunite the FF just in time for Marvel to announce they regained the rights.
Wadey09 - 8/12/2011, 10:13 PM
has anyone considered the possibility that Fox is just gonna stick it "in development" like Daredevil.
Fox have started down the looooooong road to redeeming themselves with X-men: First Class, but they are still on thin ice. i wouldn't trust the money grubbing execs anyomore than i would some president saying he'll fix the enonomy. lol

i mean, with news this big, i would want to confirm with other sources first because imho Facebook is not always a reliable source. kinda like Wikipedia or IMDB.

i'm nt trying to rain on anyone's parade, i'm just as excited to hear news like this. but i can't help but feel a little cautious when it concerns our dear friends at Fox who have our concerns a top priority. lol again.
