32 New Stills From GAME OF THRONES Season 4 Episode 8: "The Mountain And The Viper"

HBO's critically acclaimed series Game of Thrones returns next week with an epic showdown between The Mountain & The Viper. 32 new stills from the episode have been released and while they don't feature the aforementioned champions, we do get to see Dany, Sansa, Arya, the Hound & more!

In the wake of the Red Wedding, how does the North pick up the pieces and with their greatest enemy seemingly crushed, where does that leave the Lannisters. Daenerys Targaryen now has an army but is she ready to take back her homeland. Does Jon Snow turn south to seek revenge or remember his duty along the Wall?

Game of Thrones returns June 1.

Will The Mountain defeat Oberyn in combat but not before being fatally wounded himself? Then will Tyrion escape King's Landing with the help of his brother and Varys? Are these spoilers? Am I an asshole? There's a great possibility the answer to all of these are yes.

@jillymcbeam you're a c**t, leave the spoilers for a spoiler article, not a article with just pictures of the next episode

Will Sansa ever show off her boobies???????
sideshow06 - 5/27/2014, 10:17 AM
The pictures make it look like the Hound and Arya have made it to the Eyrie (the shields with moon & bird are Arryn and the valley they're in looks like the one Sansa and Littlefinger walked earlier), which is interesting, since they never go there in the books.

The bastard Ramsey needs to have his sack slapped off stupid Reek is truly a puss. No way Prince Oberyn can beat the mountain. That I think would be cool if the Hound could kill the Mountain and Cerci. Tyrion needs Jamie to get out of this or he is meat he will never make it to castle black.

@Gusto at the mortuary (in bad taste I know but ehh)
Klone - 5/27/2014, 11:18 AM
Been reading the first book. Great stuff though I prefer the first season of the TV show in a way (e.g. superior character interaction/developments). This should be a great episode though.
Klone - 5/27/2014, 11:20 AM
Daenerys keeps showing her true colours. Girl should not rule.

@Klone She is so caught up in that justice thing for the slaves it clouds her mind in focusing on kings landing. I agree unless she can make thing less personal she will be a terrible ruler. Seems to me she needs to get control of those dragon's.

I can't take the Dracarys one seriously. Clarke is trying way too hard to look like a badass :P
Ineedrevelation - 5/27/2014, 12:31 PM
^^^she was a badass bro. What show were you watching? Must have been season 1

Anyway, I hate Sansa and all her crying bullshit. She's the reason all this started in the first place
Pinocchio - 5/27/2014, 12:41 PM
@Gusto I hope you ready to work, did you get in touch with Feldman (gotta relive the '80s)
Klone - 5/27/2014, 12:48 PM

Not a big Daenerys fan personally.
lawndart - 5/27/2014, 1:34 PM
Not even a "naked" Daenerys?
Carl - 5/27/2014, 2:36 PM
Klone - 5/27/2014, 3:06 PM

Well I'm talking more about the character. Clarke isn't the best actress on the show but she is gorgeous (even moreso with the silver hair oddly) so I'm definitely fan shall we say of the naked scenes.
goldilocks - 5/27/2014, 3:45 PM
I'm finding that the show is kind of deteriorating as it goes along by getting too far away from the books. I'm still hooked but I find myself watching now feeling like, "This is just a regular TV series" where as before I was spellbound from one episode to the next, one scene to the next. Hopefully, they've been saving the best for these last three season episodes. We'll see.
Klone - 5/27/2014, 5:08 PM

I'd say Season One was the best so far. I have yet to read the other books, but Season One was very close to the first book, all the characterization is there, etc. and it improved on some aspects (Ned and Jaime's confrontation) and being a television show, it was able to develop the non-POV characters from the books such as Robert, Robb, etc. and give a greater scope of the situations, such as when the Starks and Lannisters raise arms against each other and fight in the Riverlands with that scene between Jaime and Tywin.
Klone - 5/27/2014, 5:12 PM
The only thing straight off the top of my head that I think Season One really should have had was Ned's dream with the Tower of Joy.
Nomis1800 - 5/28/2014, 4:49 AM
@Klone: Season one is the most cohesive and streamlined season so far. In ADWD things are getting into a closer narrative than we've have since book 1. If TWOW delivers I bet it's going to be the most streamlined book after the first and also lends to a more cohesive season 6 (since I think AFFC/ADWD are going to be next season and that's likely).
