Chloë Grace Moretz Set To Star In Live-Action Adaptation Of THE LITTLE MERMAID

Despite the departure of Sofia Coppola, it sounds like Universal Pictures & Working Title are still moving ahead with their live-action The Little Mermaid adaptation and now, they've found their Ariel in former Kick-Ass star Chloë Grace Moretz. Come check it out!

Variety is reporting that Chloë Grace Moretz (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) has signed on to star as Ariel in Universal Pictures' & Working Title's live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.

Details on the project remain scarce, but acclaimed screenwriter Richard Curtis (Notting Hill) is penning the script. Working Title's Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner are producing with Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger on board as executive producers. Executive VP of Production Erik Baiers & creative executive Chloe Yellin are overseeing for Universal.

The studios are still searching for a director following the departure of Sofia Coppola (Lost In Translation) earlier this year.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Nothing will ever beat the animated classic.

She is honestly a pretty good choice for the role if you ask me

STORMKAMI - 11/6/2015, 3:50 PM
Pure cg? How they are gonna do the deep sea scenes? It does not works for a live action movie……

Let's wait and see how they will do this and take notes for a NAMOR movie.
InfiniteMonkey - 11/6/2015, 3:51 PM
Smashing is the key word.

Who is smashing that anyway?
GoogleWasMyIdea - 11/6/2015, 3:54 PM
@superdood You talking to me dude? Man, I'm still 20, in my prime, going to college with parties every Thursday night, about to head out to another on at a friends frat. Dafuq did YOU do this Thursday?
Pucky - 11/6/2015, 4:01 PM
Biggest dbag tool comment I've ever read. Hilariously idiotic.
Kr08 - 11/6/2015, 4:10 PM
It's a good thing they didn't go with the best choice for the role. Holland Roden can now be Poison Ivy for the DCEU in the next Batman. She would help almost complete the Gotham City Sirens.

Ramiel - 11/6/2015, 4:10 PM
Will she kill herself in this one? And can Universal use the name 'Ariel'? I thought Disney came up with that name.
superdood - 11/6/2015, 4:11 PM
@GoogleWasMyIdea

Uhhhhh on Thursday I WAS [frick]ING YOUR MOM
jonnytheshirt - 11/6/2015, 4:12 PM
Great actress, need this movie? Bah nvm the point of these remakes is the kids whose parents saw the original I used to be perturbed by Hollywoid remakes until I showed my nephew Titan AE he was like, no, I was like man this does now look old.
GoogleWasMyIdea - 11/6/2015, 4:14 PM
@superdood lol tru, tru
@PatW it was a joke, simmer down now.
GoogleWasMyIdea - 11/6/2015, 4:16 PM
@kro8 Are you sure she's the best fit? Since they're going for an aged Batman with an already established rouges gallery, shouldn't Ivy be older? Holland is only 29.
Jazzy4 - 11/6/2015, 4:20 PM
I really like this young actress. Very talented !
Kr08 - 11/6/2015, 4:20 PM
@googlewasmyidea She's perfect. She's an amazing actress and looks exactly like Poison Ivy. Also if you're talking age, Margot Robbie who is playing Harley Quinn is 25. I think Catwoman at most should be in her 30's.
Pucky - 11/6/2015, 4:21 PM
shame on me then
GoogleWasMyIdea - 11/6/2015, 4:23 PM
@kro8 yeah, Catwoman should be late 30's, VERY early 40s. Again, we're talking pre-established rouges here. Talia should be mid-30s-late 30s, Joker is already Batman's age, and so on. I'll say this, having Batman be in his early 40s is the best decision, as this way he can have had history with all of these Robins and also have a son.
Lazarusreborn - 11/6/2015, 4:24 PM
The real question is...in the final draft of the castle's architectural design...will there be a penis?
Bizmuth - 11/6/2015, 4:24 PM
@googlewasmyidea maybe you should try out for Sebastian and you can be her personal crab....
GoogleWasMyIdea - 11/6/2015, 4:24 PM
@PatW Dude, no, it's my fault, I didn't make it really clear. I kinda suck with internet jokes, sarcasm is pretty damn annoying if it's not in person lol
GoogleWasMyIdea - 11/6/2015, 4:25 PM
@Bizmuth UNDA DAH SEA!!!
MrFridayNights - 11/6/2015, 4:27 PM
She is hot as [frick] but doesn't look like Ariel
Kr08 - 11/6/2015, 4:27 PM
@googlewasmyidea Yeah, but just because Batman is in his 40's and has a pre-established rogues gallery, that doesn't mean everyone in the rogues gallery has to be the same age. Not everyone has to be Batman's age. It makes more sense for Poison Ivy to be younger, same with Harley. I myself think that the Robins should be in their teens. If the rumors for Under the Red Hood being the first film are true, Logan Lerman should be Jason Todd.
CaptAmericaSux - 11/6/2015, 4:29 PM
Have you ever seen her off camera, like at movie premiers? Way hotter than the kid she plays in the movies :)
SuperCat - 11/6/2015, 4:32 PM
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Kr08 - 11/6/2015, 4:36 PM
@SuperCat Ursula looks fantas.... Ohh wait that's Ariel. Never mind.
LoJav - 11/6/2015, 4:44 PM
This is not an adaptation of the Disney film, so she can't be Ariel.
FrozenJoy - 11/6/2015, 4:47 PM
It's a shame it's not a Disney film...
TheVirgin - 11/6/2015, 4:48 PM
@FrozenJoy

I expect it to be porn.
DrKinsolving - 11/6/2015, 4:50 PM
I doubt I'll be interested in this, but Chloë Moretz rocks

@Kr08

Right on, so much yet to come in the DCEU, can't wait to see the Sirens

Kr08 - 11/6/2015, 4:53 PM
Disney is probably pissed right now. They've got Winnie the Pooh, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Jungle Book, and other live action movies coming out. Now they have to wait even longer for the Little Mermaid and find a different title

MrMartyMarvel - 11/6/2015, 4:56 PM
Wait, this isn't Disney? I thought this was part of their onslaught of [frick]ing stupid live action remakes.
