First Poster For Darren Aronofsky's NOAH; Another Brief Snippet Of Footage

We had the trailer sneak peek last night, and now take a look at the first one-sheet (plus another 6 seconds) for the Requiem For A Dream director's biblical epic, which stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connolly, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson and Ray Winstone.

NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO). Scott Franklin and Aronofsky of Protozoa Pictures, along with Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment, will produce the film. The film will be executive produced by Ari Handel (BLACK SWAN), Arnon Milchan of New Regency and Chris Brigham (INCEPTION, ARGO).

Noah is directed by Darren Aronofsky, and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Anthony Hopkins. It hits theaters March 28th, 2014.

Here comes a religious debate.
TheWolverine08 - 11/13/2013, 8:41 AM

TheWolverine08 - 11/13/2013, 8:42 AM
Which Marvel superhero should Crowe play? Lol.
BigMikeReviews - 11/13/2013, 8:46 AM
He's going to need a bigger boat..

TheWolverine08 - 11/13/2013, 8:49 AM
@beto They offered him the role of Wolverine, but he had just finished with Gladiator and was tired, so he recommended Hugh Jackman for the role since he was his fellow Aussie buddy. Lol.
Nomis - 11/13/2013, 8:50 AM
Is he going to face off with the flood?

My money's on the flood.

The End
FantasticSpidey - 11/13/2013, 9:32 AM
I don't get 2 things about this film.

1) Why are they making this film?

2) Why is it being posted about on a site about Comic Book Movies?
AsianVersionOfET - 11/13/2013, 9:33 AM
Poster is awful
FantasticSpidey - 11/13/2013, 9:33 AM
Someone should tell Noah that the animals are not actually in the water, and he cannot catch them with a spear.
FantasticSpidey - 11/13/2013, 9:34 AM
Put on some green pants and an orange shirt and this becomes a pretty legit Aquaman poster.
RorMachine - 11/13/2013, 9:47 AM
irishyardball, before asking these type of questions on here it would be a lot easier and save everyone some time if you simply went to Google and typed in "Noah comic book".
Vegeta - 11/13/2013, 9:49 AM
I can't wait for this movie.
batcheeks8 - 11/13/2013, 9:54 AM

Noah, the sequel to the first 20 minutes of Man of Steel!
SirJediFrank - 11/13/2013, 10:03 AM
GLADIATOR, HUGO, BLACK SWAN, INCEPTION, ARGO, wow if the people involved in these films, are in some way involved in NOAH, I´ll be there opening day

@ROR_ yeah he could do that, but then again part of the fun of coming to is tho share that kind of stuff between us, isn´t it?

I google'd it and a bunch of CBM articles come up.
FantasticSpidey - 11/13/2013, 10:55 AM

It would be equally helpful if there was some acknowledgement in the post that this is not the biblical Noah but a graphic novel written by the director himself.
Super12 - 11/13/2013, 11:33 AM
@beto - it's true. A movie about King David would be epic! You can do a whole trilogy on him actually. I don't think that just cause it's from scripture people should avoid it, large parts if the Torah and the Bible are histories and chronologies full of awesome kings and conquests, so there's tons that could make good movies. Even if god plays a part so what, it's not hurting anyone to watch a movie about a book 2/3 of the world believe in
Prime - 11/13/2013, 11:36 AM
Jor el and Odin in here.
RorMachine - 11/13/2013, 11:40 AM
We used to post pics of the comic in all our Noah articles..but we figured after the 150th time or whatever that people knew the story. But anyway, not everything we post here is based on a comic -- it might have a spin-off comic on the way, or maybe just be some sci-fi or fantasy flick with ties to what we cover that we think would be of interest. It's how we've operated right from the sorry if you happen to be brand new, but frankly it gets a bit tiresome reading the same "Ugh, is this a comic?" type comments day in day out. If you see an article on the front page of the site, assume it's supposed to be there for one reason or another.
ParisSun - 11/13/2013, 11:46 AM
This movie is closer to 300 than the biblical Noah.
ParisSun - 11/13/2013, 11:51 AM
@beto, Richard Gere did a King David movie back in the day.

It would be great to see it redone. You could do a crap load of battles. But a well written, balanced King David movie is there to be written. King David is a great hero of the Bible. He was considered a man after God's own heart. What's so interesting about that is that he was a murderer and an adulterer. But until Jesus he was the benchmark because he never turned away from God like his son Solomon. David learned to submit himself and become obedient. And in that he found redemption. Really great story.

looking forward to this.
sunday school versions of the bible are so sanitized and redacted to the point of being meaningless.

im not a "believer" but the pre-flood (and eve post flood) narratives about giants and fallen angels is freaky sh*t
FantasticSpidey - 11/13/2013, 12:31 PM

It was not meant as a commentary on anyone's posts, just that if the information is not readily available in the post it opens it up for questions you and others may be tired of hearing.

BillyM67 - 11/13/2013, 12:33 PM
They should make more movies based on the bible....god kills in the coolest ways.
JorL5150 - 11/13/2013, 3:09 PM
as much as i am loathe to make a "serious" comment here at CBM (and please see my updated posts in the lesbo movie thread)-

i DO, in all seriousness recommend jonathon kirsch's "KING DAVID" and "The Harlot by the side of the road".

superb analysis of bible stories that ARE ALL BASED ON REAL CHURCH APPROVED SCRIPTURE- that cover passges and material that you'd NEVER see in sunday school.

again, im not a "believer" but this is all fascinating stuff.
MightyZeus - 11/13/2013, 9:07 PM
He's going to need a bigger boat....

Is he standing on a mound of sh#%t excreted by all the animals on the boat?
