I was kinda disapointed with this movie. I loved the Lord of the Rings flicks but this just seemed really padded out to make 3 movies. And where the hell was the barrel escape from Rivendell? They just walked out the back door? Really? That part of the story was used as the cover for the paperback for several years. I'm hoping the others are a little better. If I do win the blu-ray I'll give it to my brother because he thought it was great. I'll probably watch it again and give it another chance but I'm knda bummed about this one.
Facade - 3/17/2013, 7:16 AM
@Greggmcg...I'm kinda bummed by your ignorance to The Hobbit. Did you ever crack open that book with "that part of the story used as the cover" or just gaze at it imagining where that part takes place?! Maybe you should try reading it before complaining about the movies inaccuracies, since the barrel escape is a)out of Mirkwood not Rivendell and b)doesn't take place until the next movie: Desolation of Smaug.

Greggmcg - 3/17/2013, 11:02 AM
@Facade- I have read it. More than once, but it has been several years. For some reason in my mind I remembered them escaping from Rivendell in the barrels. Excuse me all to hell for making a f#*&&%*(ing mistake.
Greggmcg - 3/17/2013, 2:35 PM
@Facade- I've got to ask why you feel the need to be condescending and rude to someone you don't even know? All you had to do was say "That part you were talking about was Mirkwood, not Rivendell." I would have looked it up and said "Hey you're right. Thanks." Instead you come off like a snide, know-it-all jerk. My mistake. I'll admit it. It doesn't hurt anyone that I was wrong and it doesn't bother me that I was corrected. What bothers me is the way you corrected me. The internet has made people into rude a$$h0Ie$. Even people in the same community who share the same passion for movies and comics and fantasy. I'm sick of this crap. Everyone needs to quit talking crap. If you wouldn't talk that way to someone's face don't talk that way to them on the internet.

Sorry about the rant, folks.

this is a nice giveaway!
Facade - 3/17/2013, 4:54 PM
@Greggmcg...try practicing what you preach then, friend. Your posts are far more rude then mine.

Your criticism of the film was based around ignorance. If you take personal offense to the term: ignorance, then look it up. I'll patiently await your, "hey you're right. Thanks."

Assholes abound in life, as well as, on the internet, so the sooner you get used to that fact, the better off you'll be. But, hey, thanks for policing me, my post and the internet...a small part of the world is a little better because of you ;D
