I, FRANKENSTEIN Concept Art Of Demonic Face of Evil

I, FRANKENSTEIN Concept Art Of Demonic Face of Evil

Conceptual illustrator, Martin Mercer, has recently posted three pieces of concept art that he created for Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein. All three focus on the lead demon in the film.

Well this is a rare treat. Not very often do I come across concept art for a film before it has been released. So, enjoy! The talented Martin Mercer, who has previously worked on, Iron Man 3 and Predators, had lent his talents to Aaron Eckhart's Frankenstein film. One aspect that he worked on, was the design of the main demonic villain, which I believe will be played by Bill Nighy ("Shaun of the Dead").

On a side note: I have to admit I'm concerned about the film ever since I saw the first official picture of Eckhart sporting six-pack abs and a slightly disfigured face. Call me nutty but I prefer Frankenstein's monster looking more like a mishmosh of human cadavers, than an Abercrombie & Fitch model that had his face scratched by his pet cat.

Concept Art by Martin Mercer

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

I, Frankenstein is written and directed by Stuart Beattie ("30 Days of Night"). The film is based on a graphic novel created by Kevin Grevioux. The cast includes: Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young. In theaters January 2014.

What I don't get is that Frankenstein was the creator, not the monster. So either the title is wrong for the movie or the creator was turned monster.

Bill Nighy is a god. My interest in this movie just took a considerable leap. Best part about the Underworld films.

demonic face of evil? isn't that kind of redundant?
Optimist18 - 8/11/2013, 5:55 PM

You do know that Dr. Victor FRANKENSTEIN made the "Creature" right?

It's a common misconception of the general public that Frankenstein is the name of the monster. Did it ever occur to people the name of the monster's creator?

This could be an interesting twist to an old story. I just hope it doesn't turn into something like Van Helsing.
Arron Eckhart for Batman.

Yeah, you could argue that he's took good-looking to be a Frankenstein monster, but I really didn't expect any less. It brings the movie to a larger audience by having an attractive lead; it's just a marketing technique.

The movie looks cool so far. Aaron Eckhart is the man. But I get the feeling that half the people on this site will hate and criticize the movie if it isn't a perfect award-winning film. I feel bad for some of the people on this site, who just seem to not be able to enjoy movies anymore.

*too, not took

Also, he doesn't look super different from the version in the graphic novel aside from his skin not being grey and zombie-like.

Frost Giants is what comes to mind.

F it. I'll go see it. Aaron is the man.

Hey it's Groot.

Good concept art i'm curious to see how this film will turn out. Hopefully they'll release a trailer soon.

Nice posters. Not really got my radar set for this movie, however.

@Optimist18 my comment means exactly that. This movie is called I, Frankenstein, right? But its main character is the monster not the creator. Unless the film makers made a switcheroo and changed the original text.

And I guess reading a comment through and actually understanding it before trolling is also a COMMON MISCONCEPTION
Optimist18 - 9/6/2013, 2:20 AM

Nope. Not trolling, or not intentionally anyways. Trolling is one of the most despicable behaviors of the modern era.

But anyways, I read your comment again, and I guess I just assumed you were another asshat who thought that the monster was called FRANKENSTEIN. So, I apologize.
comicNERD1031 - 9/6/2013, 7:35 AM
All good brother. I just didn't want to be one of those asshats. I'm always correcting people about the Dr. Frankenstein vs. Monster so I didn't want ppl to think I didn't know the difference.
