A few covers for upcoming book tie-ins to Peter Jackson's highly anticipated Lord Of The Rings prequel (which is the first of a new trilogy) have found their way online, featuring some new images of the film's characters. Check them out after the jump.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever ... Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths ofguile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities ... A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

These films don't need more from the talent-vacuum that is Orlando Bloom.
They need Viggo Mortensen spilling plenty black blood.

For your orcs.

Ironic that the "Visual Companion" book has the worst-looking cover.

Bullshit with the walking joke. You might as well summarize Star Wars by saying

A New Hope: In Space

The Empire Strikes Back: Still in space

Return of the Jedi: WTF are they still in space.
Ranger14 - 9/3/2012, 11:46 AM
^^^ Yes, it is one of the more lame things I have seen posted here. Considering they didn't have planes, trains or automobiles in middle earth, walking is how you got to point A to point B, unless you could afford to have horses for everyone. In that case you would replace walking with riding a horse. I guess most westerns are about riding a horse, still riding a horse and WTF are they still riding horses?
DEADP0000L - 9/3/2012, 11:59 AM
lol the funny thing was Star Wars was not even in space that much in the movie ha
DEADP0000L - 9/3/2012, 12:00 PM
even in the 3 hours Deleted Scenes they are still Walking.. and Walking and wait for it....Walking
Gigacrusher45 - 9/3/2012, 12:18 PM
You clearly skipped all the f-ing battles they had in the movie and didn't pay attention to the plot or developing relationships if all you saw was walking. It's such a immature and moronic thing to say.

Did the transformers movies have too many cars in it for you???
DEADP0000L - 9/3/2012, 12:24 PM
@Gigacrusher45 lol i am just pulling your collar. i enjoyed the lord of the rings mostly the battle and story.

The Hobbit is action packed! It will easily fill three movies but I fear that the second one may be a bit thin.

Looking forward to this!! Awesomeness!
