Peter Jackson Talks THE HOBBIT,"Filming For Both Movies Wraps In July"

Filming for The Hobbit part 1 and 2 wraps in July, information from Tolkien's appendix used to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

Anyone who's read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings knows that the books have a very distinct and different tone. It will definitely be a challenge for Mr. Jackson to create a feeling of cohesiveness between the LOTR trilogy and the two prequel films. However, if the trailer below is any indication, Jackson may have indeed struck the correct chord to achieve harmony.

This movie is going to be awesome. Very excited about this. Wish that I didn't have to wait until next winter to see it though. Hate the cold weather.

I AM SMAUG!!! I swear if I hear the song "Where there's a whip, there's a way", I will pass out from nerdphoria!

Can't wait for this

Why must you tease us with a trailer for a movie that is a full year away, why Jacks, WHY????

I vote, in this time of winter, we pull a Cartman and bury ourselves in snow in order to freeze ourselves and have a friend thaw us out once then movie comes out next year, and then repeat the process for part 2

Hope the movies good cant wait to see it. I havent finished reading the hobbit and havent read the lord of the rings books but i have seen the movies and loved them. I hope that it is a lot like the book because it is very interesting and seems like there would be a lot of story scenes as well as action so its not boring and its not completely retarded.

Glad the tone won't be too childish.
NotThatGuy - 1/20/2012, 4:13 PM
@Nemesys Sorry, bud, that song is from Rankin & Bass Return Of The King and has NOTHING to do with The Hobbit.

I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led. And through the air. I am he that walks unseen. I am the clue-finder, the web-cutter, the stinging fly. I was chosen for the lucky number. I am he that buries his friends alive and drowns them and draws them alive again from the water. I came from the end of bag, but no bag went over me. I am the friend of bears and the guest of eagles. I am Ring-winner and Luckwearer; and I am Barrel-rider.

I'll be interested to see how they spread out the book across two movies. Where do you think they'll make the split?
