The Rock Battles "The Lion" In New Clip From Brett Ratner's HERCULES

The release of Brett Ratner's Hercules is just days away, and a new clip has been released today which features the titular hero's (played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) epic battle with the lion. We know how this one ends, but that makes this footage no less awesome...

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend. Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

Also starring Aksel Hennie, Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson and Tobias Santelmann, Hercules is set to hit theaters July 25th, 2014.

Is that lion what he's wearing on his head?
SuperCat - 7/22/2014, 9:24 AM
Lions are the best.

Finally. I can see when someone mentions me.

@ B00dwerK - Yes. He wears the Nemeian Lion as a headpiece. That part and the labors they show in the trailer (Lion, Hydra) are straight from mythology.

Read the myths.

Dedpool is good. My ancestors are proud of you mortal. May Zeus be with you.

I have no idea what I'm saying...

The Lion hat looks ridiculous on him. Comical. This is without noting the inexplicable size change.

Witch Doctors?

Wonder if they will explain why the Nemian Lion's head is so much smaller when he's wearing it on his head.

Looks like another Rock Box Office bomb.

It's alright, I wish Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson was in this movie

LOL Thank you MsDarkPhoenix! And the shrinking is easy to explain, it shrinks when it's tanned and dried out. LOL. Also it's only the top part of the jaw. The teeth though he puts on his club. That I do know.

It was a poor attempt to re-create/1-UP the Conan scene where Arnold came out the cave wearing wolf skins. Same as Riddick on the throne in "Chronicles of...". Both are good actors. They just need to be as vunerable as Arnold was in Conan and other movies. When we know they are going to win. It defeats the purpose.

The 98 minute runtime is giving me a lot of concern about this...but there was a power outage at the mall during my third viewing of apes, so I have a free credit, so why not :).
