VIDEO: Jonathan Liebesman Talks WRATH OF THE TITANS Visuals, 3D And BATTLE: LA Sequel

The director of the upcoming fantasy epic Wrath of the Titans, Jonathan Liebesman, talks about the visual effects for the film, what was the most complicated effect, and he also updates on Battle: LA follow-up...

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus --the demigod son of Zeus --is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares, switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda, Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus, Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Starring Sam Worthington, Rosamund Pike, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Édgar Ramírez, Danny Huston, Bill Nighy and Toby Kebbell, Wrath of the Titans is set to hit theatres on March 30th.

If Clash (Wrath) of the Titans can get a sequel, to fix the problems from the first film. Why can't Green Lantern also get a sequel too?
WolvieCBM - 3/25/2012, 9:22 PM
superbigguy32: One reason: $$$.
Spidey91 - 3/25/2012, 9:27 PM
@superbigguy32

two words: BOX OFFICE.

Clash did almost 500 million worldwide, out of a 125 million budget. that's 4 times his budget.

GL barely made his budget back (220 million worldwide, the movie costed 200),not counting all the money that went to the advertising of the movie,100 million or something.
Spidey91 - 3/25/2012, 9:28 PM
well,WolvieCBM's explanation is shorter, and just as valid :P

@grif Finally someone else that liked battle la! Not a masterpiece but not as bad as others would have you believe!
Marxman12 - 3/25/2012, 10:21 PM
I loved Battle: LA! I thought it was an awesome, gritty military sci- fi flick. Black Hawk Down meets Independence Day. It was great.
pro346 - 3/25/2012, 10:40 PM
@marxman exactly a real blackhawk down feel to it!
AUSSYACE - 3/25/2012, 10:43 PM
This guy really seems to know his shit...

That Lava Titan is the BEST CGI I think I have ever seen on the Big Screen...
Ace101 - 3/25/2012, 11:00 PM
I rather liked Battle LA, the only problem i had with it was the aliens lol
TheRationalOne - 3/26/2012, 12:03 AM
Spidey91 - How is that reason invalid? Money is the final deciding factor in whether or not a sequel gets green lit. Why would a studio want to spend another 200 mill to make a sequel to a movie that barely made its money back. You ask a question, you get an answer. It's not invalid just because you don't like it.
marvelstudios - 3/26/2012, 12:03 AM
id love to watch another Battle:LA. cant wait to wrath of the titans too
TheRationalOne - 3/26/2012, 12:04 AM
Aw, you said valid. Now I feel like an ass. Oh wait...I'm over it.
Foxpaw - 3/26/2012, 12:24 AM
just like that! dam perseus was boss!
xXkryptoniteXx - 3/26/2012, 5:36 AM
Battle L.A is horrible but the acting of Aaron eckhart saved the movie IMO and it was a good video game style movie. It is horrible but for what it is, it was fun to watch but not the 2nd time around. If there is a sequel I hope they do a better job on casting more better actors, take out the patriotism and do it like in a level of independence day, making it a high stake like that.
PaulRom - 3/26/2012, 8:19 AM
I didn't mind Battle: LA. Didn't care for the first act, but otherwise a very entertaining flick. Wouldn't mind a sequel.
superbatspiderman - 3/26/2012, 2:10 PM
I really hope Wraith of the Titans is good because it looks good. That Lava Titan who I think is Kronos looks fantastic.

I thought Battle LA was an awesome film especially Aaron Eckhart's character. A sequel could be cool.
KalEl1996 - 3/26/2012, 2:22 PM
This director is going to have a great career because of the Titans saga and him directing the soon TMNT movie. I'm excited for Battle: LA sequel!
