The return of Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze to the big screen failed to make an impact at the box office and has been torn apart by critics and fans alike so far. However, what did YOU think of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance?

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance spluttered to an unimpressive third place at the US and UK box offices this past weekend and currently sits with a lowly 15% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It's hard to find any review actually praising the film (although the brilliant Idris Elba seems to have hit the right note with critics) and even fans of the Marvel comic book character have been left feeling disappointed and downright indifferent was arguably just a terrible movie. However, that's just my opinion and you can read more in my review by clicking HERE. What I want to know now is what YOU all thought of it! Cast your vote below and be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

A worthy adversary for Batman & Robin for the title of worst comic book movie ever.
HavocPrime - 2/21/2012, 3:31 PM
It is bad, but there is worse out there
IronDean2099 - 2/21/2012, 3:31 PM
Of course people will moan. No doubt you'll all moan about David Slade's Daredevil and the new Fantastic Four. Same as everyone moaned about Punisher War Zone. I remember all the harsh stuff people were saying about First Class and the only reason that wound up unscathed is because it was clearly an above par comic book movie. Normally it's too dark, too comedic, not enough action, too much violence, they didn't respect 70 years of backstory to the letter. If a studio listened to you lot none of these would ever get made so sit the [frick] back and enjoy the fact that we live in a time where this stuff is even possible.

Was this movie a let down? Yes! (intense close up) Hell yes! lol
xsnakeplisskenx - 2/21/2012, 3:37 PM
I would rather watch the 1st movie. This was shite.
DoomXfactor - 2/21/2012, 3:41 PM
Idris Elba and the Ghost Rider scenes were awesome but the rest of the movie was garbage. Reminds me of Episode One and how epic Darth Maul was compared to the rest of the shitty movie
csitrooper - 2/21/2012, 3:48 PM
the movie was pretty bad I think nic cage is pretty much done as an actor the dialogue was terrible the actions scenes were ok but the first one was bad but this was worse
jessepostal - 2/21/2012, 3:51 PM
I loved it, it was mindless fun with great action and great cgi. A lot of times those are the best movies. A fun escape from reality
darkness - 2/21/2012, 3:54 PM
the gr effects were great...was the movie...no. i didn't walk!and i have on many cb movies! i would love to see a complete rebot of ghost rider, i believe there is a great movie waiting
Nick56 - 2/21/2012, 3:56 PM
This wasn't even mindless fun. Mindless fun is something like Transformers. Apart from the design of GR the writing, directing, and acting was terrible. It also had some of the silliest moments of any superhero movie (spinning GR scene Nic Cage freak out scene) and it had the worst villain in superhero movie history. Like seriously? The power of decay??? Plus the devil was so lame in this film. I hope the directors never come near any film again.
Talisac - 2/21/2012, 4:03 PM
This movie became a big let down for me when Ghost Rider came out for the first time and started doing some kind of dance pose and then boppin back and fourth like he was diggin the tunes on his Ghostpod. Then it just didn't get any better from there.

As much as I like humor in my CBM, I didn't think this one was done very well. The effects were really good and I liked the way Ghost Rider looked.

What I disliked least about the first one was the villains. I was really hoping that the second one would correct that but it didn't. Villains in the first one were white guys with white make up on, villains in the second one were white guys with white make up on.

I was really hoping that they would represent Mephisto correctly in the second one. Well maybe I will get a good one in the third movie. LOL

I could go on about the many other things that were wrong with this movie but I wont. Either you like it or you don't. This time I am with the majority and don't. But I am hopeful a better one will be made.
JordanKing - 2/21/2012, 4:05 PM
Was intending to go see it but there were no 2D showings at the cinema. It's one thing to waste money for a film that reeks of crap, but on top of an excessive 3D charge? Screw that!
Lert - 2/21/2012, 4:17 PM
no more reboot of this... ditch the bitch and go for SPAWN!
GreenHalJordan - 2/21/2012, 4:43 PM
@Lert, I wouldn't mind seeing another spawn movie. That could be interesting. Still haven't seen GR:SOV, but i may go catch the early bird speacials or something.
agentofshield - 2/21/2012, 4:48 PM
( ) YES
( ) NO

Ceejay - 2/21/2012, 4:48 PM
Wow, another pointless, derogatory questionnaire!
jessepostal - 2/21/2012, 4:52 PM
@mothra, a little over dramatic arnt we, it seems like some of the people on here hate on the movies that are most like the books, just like Punisher war zone i thought it was right off the pages of many of the books
Astro - 2/21/2012, 5:05 PM
@jessepostal Spot on you got it. Have not seen the GRSOV ( Wow that feels wrong GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE) but The Punisher War Zone was like pulling pages to screen................But Garth Ennis was the best Punisher writer ever go'es to show you you can please everyone.
jessepostal - 2/21/2012, 5:12 PM
@astro, glad someone else agrees with me,you def cant please everyone, and i think a lot of people expect way to much.I think if you liked warzone you will def like grsov haha ya it does feel wrong. It's an all around better ghost rider movie.
CrashTest - 2/21/2012, 5:16 PM
Just what I thought it would be, shit. And I haven't even seen it!
UnscrupalousSmurf - 2/21/2012, 5:17 PM
Lets see, gas is at $5 a gallon, jobs are no where to be seen, my health insurance cost keeps going up, housing market is still shit, the Kardashians are rich for no good reason, and i'm suppose to spend my hard earned disposable income on this shit? No thanks! I think i would rather waste it on a prostitute.
Jobu - 2/21/2012, 6:35 PM
I'll wait for the blue ray at the redbox. I am curious to see how bad it really is.
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 2/21/2012, 6:47 PM
Yeah that movie kinda sucked.....

Cheesehead - 2/21/2012, 7:26 PM
I liked Punisher Warzone. This movie was shit. No one can convince me otherwise. I would have been fine if it was a shit ton of Rider kicking some ass. But he was in this shit fest for about 4 minutes. And the first action scene he did absolutely nothing except bob around. The pissing fire scene was ridiculous too.
Cheesehead - 2/21/2012, 7:42 PM
@Bosswalsh- I'll give you Cap, but everyone else looks badass. Wouldn't want Hawkeye with his traditional costume. We can't comment on Avengers, it hasn't come out yet. But we can comment on this shit bomb. Sounds like your a butt hurt Ghost Rider fan.
DanielGrimaldi - 2/21/2012, 8:16 PM
This movie was no where near being the shit, but I liked the movie, and would see it again. This did a really good job and I can't believe that it only cost 44 million to do this movie.
AIGALAN - 2/21/2012, 8:57 PM
Punisher warzone had action atleast. Ghost rider had a bad plot and horrible acting. Yeah some of the special effects were cool but the narration and the lame jokes along with cage's crappy acting made me want to walkout. This movie just seemed like Drive Angry except cage would somtimes turn into ghostrider and nde scenes were left out
AlexDeLarge87 - 2/21/2012, 11:51 PM

Now when does the new Spawn movie come out?!:)
dadisatish - 2/22/2012, 12:27 AM
no polls and discussions are needed to judge this piece of shit...worst CBM ever.....i got headache watchin this...
JHowlett - 2/22/2012, 1:36 AM
I'm sure this movie is getting a lot of hate but really I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from seeing this movie I would have really missed out. Call it Ghost Rider's version of Punisher-Warzone. Just saw it, I thought it was pretty good. It was intended as a B-list comicbook movie and it's pretty much right near the top in that capacity. Visual effects, action sequences, that's how you make a movie look like a comic book. The animated intercuts were fun almost Sin Cityesque. Really if your thinking about watching this movie check it out for yourself. Cage did a much better job this time around actually the whole tone just felt better this time. The humor in it is at a much darker tone. The fights are better than in the 1st movie. The opening sequence is the only time the 3d is really worth it. Overall I'd say 3.5 out of 5
Jer3miah - 2/22/2012, 1:49 AM
LOL!!!!!! I had a feeling the movie was garbage. I'ma just see Chronicle if it's still out by the weekend, or something. I'll wait to rip Ghost Rider from piratebay, lol.
SUPERSHADOWBAT - 2/22/2012, 6:10 AM
I thought it was better than the first GR movie. Still not a good movie, action scenes and cgi were great. The editing and direction was mediocre and that's being kind. Nic Cage should just forget about being any kind of hero and stick to making regular drama films.
KNIGHT3000 - 2/22/2012, 8:49 AM
It was definitely better than the 1st 1. In a way, it felt as if this were the rest of the 1st 1. Because the 1st lacked so much, Plus this felt short enough to actually feel like the rest. Nic Cage played the Rider EXCELLENTLY. I love how devilishly quiet he was.

But my issue with the new movie was similar. The main protagonist just didn't seem threatening enough. They should get actors that actually look like tough guys, and not these Lil pretty-boys that look like Cage could kick their ass anyway, without powers.

For me thats what didn't change between the 2 films. Both films picked wimpy pretty-guys that can't fight, nor look intimidating for shit, to be the "Bad-Guy".
KNIGHT3000 - 2/22/2012, 9:05 AM
I liked WARZONE. Sure it didn't have the depth or range of ROOTS, but that's the PUNISHER yo.

Did I mention that Ghost Rider looked perfect this time? Nic really got the 2 personalities down and separate. For the 1st time I actually felt what the Rider is supposed to feel like.

Oh yea, that mid-air spinning shit was pretty f#ckin STUPID.
satanors - 2/22/2012, 9:24 AM
This movie was terrible. But its allright. We have to move on with life just like we did after green lantern. Anyway, all is not lost, we still have TDKR, Spiderman, Avengers and Prometheus. In video games we have mass effect 3, max payne 3 and diablo 3. So, its allright so far.

To some of you, I know you like GR as much as i do, and you want to see his movie do well as much as i do. But we have a responsibility here to our fellow humans. Let us not inspire and trick others to spend their hard earned money on something that they would not enjoy. It is wrong to do that just because your ego wants to see that dumb movie survive.
Cheesehead - 2/22/2012, 9:54 AM
@ Bosswalsh- I can respect a difference of opinion. But hating on Avengers when we haven't seen it makes it seem like your butt hurt. You may be right, but we will have to wait and see. But I saw this movie and in my opinion, it was very bad.
NJdevil12 - 2/22/2012, 11:55 AM
in my opinion it was in between the 'its was ok' and 'awful'. it wasnt very good, but i didnt exactly hate it, plus i went in with very low expectations. me and my girlfriend both thought it was decent enough and we had fun in the movie..anyways i hope marvel can get the rights back and maybe do a crossover with Blade and Punisher. :)
Fabster360 - 2/22/2012, 2:50 PM
I actually really enjoyed this movie. After hearing all the negative early buzz surrounding it, I went into it expecting the worst. I was very pleasantly surprised leaving the theater though!

Nicolas Cage's portrayal of the Ghost Rider was great, IMO. His whole 'cobra' thing did make him very entrancing to watch. And of course, a little crazy Nic Cage while he was in human form is always entertaining. Idris Elba was also amazing as Moreau. As a gun-toting, alcoholic priest, he pretty much stole every scene he was in.

Even though Blackout's abilities were different from his comic book counterpart, I think that this incarnation of the character fit it nicely with the tone of the film. I also liked Ciaran Hinds as Roarke/The Devil. He seriously gave me the creeps.

One of the biggest things I liked about this movie was the way it was filmed. At some points, it felt like a grindhouse B-movie but with amazing special effects, which piqued my interest as soon as I saw that Spike VGA sneak peek. As a film major, I truly appreciated the directors' up-close-and-personal camera style. The car chases and fight scenes looked seriously bad-ass from this perspective.

What people need to realize is that is a popcorn flick. It's an adrenaline-fueled, ass-kicking action film. If you go into it with that mentality, you will not be disappointed.
Mechagino - 2/24/2012, 7:08 PM
I vote fantastic not saying it's the greatest movie ever or Superhero movie but it's insane fun.
