BLUE BLOOD's David Ramsey Joins The Cast Of ARROW

Variety report that the actor has landed a major role in CW pilot, which will detail the adventures of DC character Green Arrow. Click to find out who he will be playing..

After hearing a little about what to expect from the CW's Arrow earlier on, we now have some casting news. Joining Steven Amell, who will play the title role, is David Ramsey, who you can currently see playing The Mayor of New York in the CBS drama series Blue Bloods. According to Variety he will play John Diggle, a former military man now working as a bodyguard for hire who soon finds he is trapped in a battle of wits, loyalty and trust.

Diggle is a brand new creation for the show and not based on anyone from the Green Arrow comic series. Here is a more detailed breakdown of his character..

35 years old, African-American, Diggle is really, really big, a former military man who served with the Army Rangers in Afghanistan, and has been a bodyguard for hire for the last four years. Hired by Moira to be Oliver’s chauffeur and protector, Diggle soon finds he is trapped in a battle of wits, as Oliver repeatedly eludes his protection. But in fact, Diggle’s primary conflict is one of loyalty — he has to show that he’s working for Oliver, not Moira, before Oliver will give him a smidgen of trust.

David Nutter will direct the pilot.
